Thanks mpython. I hope everyone is starting to see what we mean now. If we stuck to divadee's rule then things would run smoother.
The 10am/Noon issue are usually for the same or next day are they not? Like the London Metro Sudoku that has to been the same day by midnight. Most people would spot these in the default display (ie when you go to page 1 of the comps you'll see a little arrow showing the list is sorted by.. and by default it's by last post). They tend to be on page one or 2 anyway. Not really effected by this imho as the stricter expiry is more for longer term ones that get lost in 200 pages.

just a quick question with regards the way the expiry date is written - does there have to be a space after the colons? or does it not matterWeight Loss - 102lb0

Monsieur E, most of them are the next day but a few are days ahead, and the Mirror can be a couple of weeks ahead. However, I've just noticed that Nosonddu adds the time in brackets after the end date like E: xx/yy (10.00am), so maybe that would work and not affect the seach for the end date string.
Hjb, I don't search for end dates so can't be sure but I guess it would affect the search results as its either one word or two (if its got the space).
Just seen another variant of end date on the forum xxyyzz. From MSE Martin - Some General Tips On Holiday Home Organisations and Sales Meetings
DO NOT TOUCH ANY OF THEM WITH A BARGEPOLE!0 -
It makes a difference when ordering the display of the comps by THREAD instead of the default LAST POST. If we are to consider a uniform system then it would indeed require the space after the colon and date as FOUR digits
eg. E: 01/03“We are not interested in the fact that the brain has the consistency of cold porridge.” - Alan Turing (1912-1954)0 -
I've look high and low for a list of other competition sites, that have lots of competitions. Do we have one on here or does somebody go through them and post the links on here.
Here are some of the most popular I think.

dont think there is a list of those, though to be honest the only ones of those I use are prizefinder and loquax. Myoffers and !!!!!! seem to be very spammy and the others I either havent heard of or dont get round to going toWeight Loss - 102lb0 -
The only thing that would be of concern; if it had multiple places it could go where should it?
The main reason postal comps are separated is you need postcards, stamps etc so people tend to do them separately. Text comps are often not as cumbersome, as you'll most likely have your mobile next to you on your desk?
The same sticky request could also be argued for comps for children or explicitly for adults too, but where would it end?“We are not interested in the fact that the brain has the consistency of cold porridge.” - Alan Turing (1912-1954)0
