Thanks Hjb, I took your advice and I've also done mine that are still in date. Likewise, took me about 15 mins (I've obviously been naughtier than you) but I'll try really hard to use the correct date format from now on.From MSE Martin - Some General Tips On Holiday Home Organisations and Sales Meetings

Its a good idea to get everyone to post the end date the same (or how it should be!). As far as I know I do mine the correct way - I think, please correct me if i'm wrong!
While we're on the subject of change could we also point out to people who post on threads saying 'this has already been posted' but don't offer a url, to please add the url of the op and send a merge request otherwise it leaves it to someone else to do.
Oh, and just one more thing! When people are going through the 'comps ending' lists can they not bump the closing comps just to make a comment or write 'thanks' on them - it causes people to duplicate if not careful.
Hope thats ok with everyone?

Thanks Littleholly, I completely agree about the needless bumping of near to closing comps. I also agree about posting a link to the original comp for duplicates but I'd prefer if people changed the title to duplicate & delte their link so as people won't enter twice - unless the BGs prefer to merge them. From MSE Martin - Some General Tips On Holiday Home Organisations and Sales Meetings

To keep you all updated on the comps board at the moment.
We are in discussions about the end date format yet again. But like M_E has said the format has always been E: 18/02 win etc... This is how we would like to keep it, so if everyone could keep to that it would be great.
I have said numerous times on these boards. The end date was originally put on to help board guides out, and it is still mainly used for this purpose. When we move stuff to game over we go by the date so we dont have to look in every thread individually!!
on to a more contentious issue. These threads that people are starting about comps closing xx date. They are really getting a bit much now. I didnt mind when we were just a day ahead, but to have until the end of the month is just clogging up the boards.
To be honest i know this was started by some as they wanted rid of the end date and individual threads with the date on and all comps on that closing date posted in there, but I will be blunt. Thats not going to happen!! It would be chaos and take far to much time for the board guides to sort out.
After February can we please not have any more comps closing xx date threads. If people want to find the comps they can search. Its been working fine for 4 years now!!!
I know the above is going to upset some of you, but this makes life a lot easier for the board guides and other users.0 -
Hi. Not sure if this is the right place to post but am wondering why you guys post the answer to comp questions on here? Would it not be enough to just mention the comp and then let the user 'do' the comp as needed?0

thats part of what makes the MSE comping forum a great place and sets it aside from other, it has the answers! If people dont want to see the answers and want to work it out they either dont scroll down to the answer or go to another website where they dont put the answer!
PS, welcome to the MSE comping sectionWeight Loss - 102lb0 -
Divadee, everything you have said makes perfect sense and I for one am not upset at anything you said, it all needed saying. People are finding all sorts of wierd and wonderful ways of writing the expiry dates now, that is if they are put in:D
The friendliness of the forum does seem to have gone downhill in the past month or so with people bickering between themselves and bossing eachother about
Anyway before I get shouted down/at thats my opinion:DWeight Loss - 102lb0
