What a terrific thread! I, like a few others, cut down on the groceries last december - on the treats and rich food especially. Have started to work a little towards this year; using the POCKETMOD as my chrictmas lists/planner, and a big time-saver for me - I have created a mail merge document of all my Christmas card addresses. OH and I have about 70 cards to post each year, and the thought of writing all those envelopes again....... So now they'll be printed in a decorative font onto labels - I've also done the same task for a few of my friends on their lists. That's going to save me a lot of time and grief this December.:jI gave up jogging for health reasons; my thighs rubbed together and my knickers caught fire!0

with christmas cards, if you really want to add a personal touch to them you could always use the royal mail SMILERS where the photo of your choice is made into a stampknow thyselfNid wy'n gofyn bywyd moethus...0

I've not even thought about Christmas yet this year  Makes a big change as I usually start in January :rotfl: (Member of Rudolph club on OrganizedChristmas.com and I have been for a few years). The only things I do know about Christmas are :
- Christmas is in Liverpool this year so I'll have to do Christmas dinner this year - NOTHING on the scale I did last time. This time it will be 1 Bernard Matthews Turkey Roll thing, a few roasties etc - basically a Sunday Roast with Christmas Pud/"Squirty Cream" for pudding and a SMALL Christmas cake for afters if wanted, probably bought though. Forgot Crackers to pull (I think I might have these hiding in one of my Christmas boxes  ) and DD can make a center piece again
- Addresses are up-to-date, and I'll continue to update them. Stickers for address labels are already bought (I use the same ones for my ebay parcels) and so are return address labels.
- Need to do the Newletter but will file that in my documents for now.
- Budget is already set - £10 for family (£5 for 2 members & 2 dogs can have £5 spent between them!), £20 for me and OH, £50 for DD (usually £10 for stocking fillers, £10 for new clothes, a "big" pressie and then a few bits like a new book or two etc) - So that is £210 without a few extra bits of food. Mind you, 2 people usually get LESS spent on them than what I budget as I bake for them instead
Plus there may be a few "joint" pressies this year which also cuts costs
Plus I always include an up-to-date School photo
- Cards are already bought - clearance in Tescos last year
Creeping back in for accountability after falling off the wagon in 2016.Need to get back to old style in modern ways, watching the pennies and getting stuff done!0 - Christmas is in Liverpool this year so I'll have to do Christmas dinner this year - NOTHING on the scale I did last time. awwwglad to have helped :T i guess being a christmas addict has its uses :rotfl:
the welsh part of my sig is a quote from a book. it reads "one foot in the grave and the other on a banana skin." it tickled me pink - i thought it was a very humbling and down to earth view on mortality (for us all, not just the old people it was referring to in the book).
banana is the welsh word for banana (although pronouced slightly differently). as with all languages, we have our shared of borrowed words where some things just will not translate
and your spelling was spot on - da iawn ti! (well done you!)know thyselfNid wy'n gofyn bywyd moethus...0
