Absolute madness, you must be stressed out. Obviously a computer generated letter, might be an idea if try to push them to put your money into account as a matter of coutesy within week and not the standard two weeks wait. Have they definately got your correct address ?
Good luck and let us know how you get on

they defo had the correct address! we should invent some reclaim back on stress charges caused by all of this.:D
I phoned the bank up first thing this morning with the redial button LOL must of been the first caller of the day for them:D ! i asked why and how i got this letter before any offer letter and they gave the usual run around rubbish. they move the goal post's all the time giving out different dates when they say they sent the letters out...
well im now going into the bank this afternoon to print out and fax over the letter...i think the man on the phone let slip how much the offer is and its about £70 short of what i wanted but i will prob take it in any case to eze the stress...
now lets see what happens later today.0 -
please can someone advise me, sent 2 letters to hsbc for charges back on seperate accounts. Have received leters back within the 2 week timescale set out to say they are investigating and will get back to me within 8 weeks. what do i do? continue to send 2nd letters or wait the 8 weeks?
thanks in advance
Hi ya Beeks
Standard reply from hsbc, if you read back throught this forum you will find alot of advise, the majority of us have waited the eight weeks and have received a response around that date. All you need to do if you follow that route is chase them up via your bank online or e mail service around the seven week mark to check on claim. If you stick to your timetable of two weeks then you need to send second letter after the intial first letter, but you will find with hsbc they will respond quicker waiting the eight weeks then taking them to court, this could add months onto the time.
The decision is yours but i would say wait the eight weeks. You won t be entitled to the interest though only the court can give you this.
Good luck any help you need you will find on here from one of us.

Now what?
Hi ya
Carry on claiming the remainder, write to them again (take copy) explain that you will be claiming the outstanding amount from the date of your first letter. Send it recorded delivery so they can t deny ever receiving it. Then seven weeks from the initial letter chase them up. you should get offer at eight weeks.
As asked earlier what did the letter say as this might have some bearing on the matter

Hi trace,
I know im being impatient (trying not to be):rotfl:
Is that a definate 4-6wks that you will get offer or another fob off. Im not aware of how the fo system works. At least your away for two weeks so that should kill sometime. Where you off to?
You ll have plenty of catching up to do when you get back with this forum.
hope you have a lovely time and try and relax, never know you could have offer waiting when you return. have you got anyone to go in and check your post each day.

Hi Lou
I don't know I'll get an offer or not, all I know is no bank has turned down an offer from the FO as yet, as they don't want the investigation, so who knows i might be a 1st :rotfl: Once an offer is in, it takes about another 4 wks to get your money! But with the courts taking longer i think, i just have to wait!
I'm off to the Sunny Lake District camping!! I'm gonna get lovely weather aren't I!!?:rotfl: Me, hubby and Pop the Dog! The dog will prob keep campsite awake, cos she snores like a good un!!
I'll keep my fingers crossed for you:T
