  • Hi

Around 6 months ago I sent in my list of charges to HSBC, they responded with a letter saying that it was on hold at the moment, the normal letter they send out.

But now I have incurred a more charges since I last sent my list to them!
Should I renew the list and send it in again now, or wait until the test case has finished?

    Any help is appreciated

    Thanks Mark
  • Send a new list till them with new charges on them because the OFT test case has not reached judgement yet.

Hi, i'm new on here and registered so i could get help with a problem i have. This happened a few years ago but what with all the reclaiming I was reminded of it. As a student on a 4 year course i opened up a number of student bank accounts to get all the freebies. I have an ISA from a few years before and thought i should move all the interest free overdraft from the HSBC to my other bank where the ISA was. I had my HSBC account for years before i became a uni student and never deposited or withdrew anything. i went in and sat down and agreed to my £1000 interest free overdraft. I moved the money about 2 years into my course and about a few months later the bank began to send letters to my home adress saying they were going to transfer the account to a type where overdrafts collect fees. by the time i got the letters they had closed the account and given my details to a debt collector. i paid back what i owed as soon as i found out plus a little in interest because when i went in and outlined the situation to the bank they said basically it was my problem and the matter was to be dealt with my this debt collector.

i hope this makes some kind of sense. i'd appreciate any help with what i can do - if anything- or whether i should chalk it up to experience and forget about it.
  • can anyone help?? !!!! hsbc have given us an offer to which they say i declined & as it took so long i wrote back to accept it & they said i have to wait for the outcome of the court case. i wrote to the omnibudsman who said to wait also for the outcome of the test case? is this so? thanks xxx
  • hi can any1 helpme am a bit confused about this test case thing, is it worth trying to get charges back from hsbcrap at the moment or are they not acknowledging claims
  • Hi guys

Ive just noticed today that i went over my account overdraft, i went over by £32 but the bank want to charge me £44 to my account due to be taken out on the 19th March. I want to ring them before the charges are taken out and try and get them waived because i could have easily transferred money into my account to cover the £32 that i went over by? Ive read the reclaim threads but i cant see anything about getting them removed before its actually taken out of my account?

    Any advice please?

    Regards

  • I know i am in the wrong too but still £44 on an £32 over is a bit ridiculous isnt it?

thats an extortinate amount of interest if looking at it that way isnt it?
