Wow! Reads like a novel. She really does have problems if she can have such a monk on over what is essentially a newby mistake that could be rectified with a few friendly words in a couple of minutes flat - and longer still with your line manager. Sheesh!
Hippo Bird-day for tomnorrow, enjoy your visit to your cute dentist, and above all else - have a nice birthdayHi, I'm a Board Guide on the Old Style and the Consumer Rights boards which means I'm a volunteer to help the boards run smoothly and can move and merge posts there. OMG Squeaky, do you know this woman!?!!??? I've just seen your signature:
"growing old is mandatory; growing up is optional".
Believe me, she opted out big style!!!
Thank you for your birthday bleatings for tomorrow, I shall enjoy speaking out loud at work tomorrow, and possibly even having a laugh. Remind me to turn the air con up full blast - without her frosty presence we will need it....ha ha ha :rolleyes:0 -
LOL but the signature tagline was a purely serendipitous coinkydink.
Glad that you can have a laugh after a rubbish dayHi, I'm a Board Guide on the Old Style and the Consumer Rights boards which means I'm a volunteer to help the boards run smoothly and can move and merge posts there. Culpepper - I envy you your fridge (and hope to be in a similar position of having an actually cold fridge very soon!). Horribly inconsiderate of the neighbour's boy last night - does he do it very often?
The neighbours boy is about 20 and is usually fine but his parents were away yesterday and overnight and he can be a whole different kettle of fish when they are not there (drink driving etc...).I think it might be a case of too much parental control,so he just goes mad when he is liberated.0 -
Evening all,
Not much going on OS here today - wrote to say I have achieved fame at last (well sort of!!) Read my email from MSE and noticed a link to my Burger King / Wheat crunchies thread! Pleased me anyway, but then again I am easily pleased!
I am going to make minestrone soup tomorrow in the slow cooker - that stuff is seriously economical! Cleaned fridge today - OMG, it was horrible, and I thought it wasn't too bad at all before I started. All the old veg is going in the soup.
Enjoy your evening - lots of comedy on BBC2 which should cheer up anyone who has had a less than good day at work!0 -
Had a lovely sort of OS day. Started off making a batch of Queenie's Everyday Biscuits (*Come back, Queenie, where are you?*)
Spent the morning at the library with my little boy and he came away with a free book (to keep) as well.
Lunch using odds and ends out of the freezer ready for a big shop next week.
Afternoon spent racing around the park.No money spent whatsoever.

A good and bad day. Tonight I've hit the wine and to have a good think about what I need to do about work.
Work is a bit of a pig at the moment but I know I don't have to put up with it. It looks like I'll have to look at job hunting, ... I would love to do something that is life changing. Perhaps it's time to think about what I would really like to do? I suspect it's all about planning ... just like MSE
This daily thread is wonderful ... it is so inspiring. It's lovely to log on to see what everyone is doing.
The good thing is my eldest DD is home to celebrate her birthdayEnjoying an MSE OS life0 -
Oh Henhog I bow down before you - what an honour to have been mentioned in the newsletter! That has to be worth at least five stars and 20,000 thank yous!
Apple_Mint...if you're unfulfilled at work please look at all your options...further education, your own business, giving up work (gasp!), voluntary work...life is too short to just tolerate anything. Though is your current job as good as mine I wonder? I have an inspirational friend...she's in her early forties, has a 2 year old and was married just 3 years ago. She gave up work, moved to a cheaper area property wise with her family, and has recently completed an Access course. She starts her Education degree in the autumn! She has had her trials and tribulations in life, but she is getting to where she wants to be, albeit via the long, scenic, indirect route.
Elona, thank you for your birthday greetings too. Unfortunately there is nowhere for Po Face to transfer to - she was recently married so we are hoping she gets pregnant pdq lol.
I have been baking for my birthday tomorrow...all from the Be-Ro recipe book: Lime & Coconut cake (so easy to do!); Viennese Twirls; Ginger & Chocolate Cookies (easy but fiddly chopping chocolate & ginger). The Viennese Twirls are a bit overdone but I'm going to dip them in chocolate in the morning, and nobody will ever know! Where I work is friendly enough, but people don't mix enough outside their departments. I'll probably get fired tomorrow, but what I am going to do is invite everyone for a 15 minute elevenses party, bring a cup of tea or coffee and serve my baking. I'm also intending to ask people to make a donation towards the local hospice if they have a cake/biccie. Think I will play down the birthday bit though, don't want any embarrassing questions...
Off to bed now, nightie night if you're still up...

SnowyOwl still there? HAppy Birthday!!!
Just realised the time  well past my bed time. At least I am not still walking around like someone four times my age because the pain yesterday... bloomin gall stones, bloomin NHS, six more months to wait! Dr suggested writing to my MP... think I might, specially as it means I can't do my job properly (or very often!) Oh well long weekend off!
Fingers crossed my Mum will arrive from Oz on Monday, hurrah! Anyway, nuff said, night night.
Kippersoooh look only about 220 posts and I got round to doing my Avatar already!!0
