up at 4.15 this morning due to a very noisy son of one of our neighbours who was having an arguement on his mobile phone whilst standing outside their house for some mysterious reason. Couldnt get back to sleep so went and did a bit of noiseless cleaning in the kitchen.
Our new fridge arrived yesterday afternoon at 4.30 and is lovely and cold and looks very posh after the 19 year old one (which had broken trim and yellowed door)
Out to buy sugar this morning for making my bird cherry jam. Might look around for some more veg seeds too (all the shops seem to stop selling them in June!)
Just out to water the plot first.

May not get much done as going out for the day and heaven knows what i will cook tonight - probably pasta as that is quick.(My daughter who is leaning over my shoulder squealed "that is my favourite!)

Made a loaf in breadmaker overnight.

" :whistle:Good morning, Good morning, hope you are feeling well, good morning good morning to you!!!!!" Yes guys I'm in a much better mood today for quite a few reasons :D
    1. Comet emailed us last night, our order has been confirmed and my new Indesit WIL133 washing machine will be here on Tuesday between 8am and 6pm :j:j:j( See it here ) I can't wait - my currently broken machine is only a servis 900 and takes over an hour for a half-load economy wash  The 16 different programmes and seperate temperature selection will be great due to the amount of "delicates" (read : pain in the neck to iron/wash) and wool items OH and DD have been given. At least when I buy clothing I check the washing instructions :p and NEVER buy handwash only items. I even bought a machine washable mat for by the frontdoor :rotfl:Plus it has a delay of up to 9 hours on it so I can set it up the night before and have it do a quick wash with crease care option over night so that I can hang clean washing out when I get up at 7am therefore saving me time :j Did I mention that we priced EXACTLY the same machine in the store at the weekend (this particular store had offers on as it had just re-opened after refurbishment and now has an upstairs as well!) and it was about £30 MORE in store than online! We ordered it online using greasypalm ;)
    2. OH has said that he's going to apply for a capital one card before my one's 0% offer ends so we can get another one which will hopefully have a decent 0% offer on. I noticed that they won't transfer from other MBNA cards so we decided last night that we'll transfer the outstanding balance back to our Natwest card (cheaper interest rate). Then when OH gets a 0% card we'll transfer the whole of the Natwest balance over to that. Complicated I know but with a total creditcard debt of £1703 over 2 cards plus storecards that we want to transfer (totalling approximately £650 at 29.9% interest), plus a bank loan (approximately £4106) we really want to get things sorted. I can't keep applying for 0% deals as I don't work and I don't get much of a credit limit now so to we decided to do this to bump up OH's credit rating (which is very poor ATM). Blimey I've just realised that we owe £6459 :eek::eek: At least we have realised we can afford to pay an extra £100 a month AT LEAST off the credit card debt. We're hoping to have it down to under £1000 by November. Mind you we do need to pay out nearly £900 in car insurance come November 29th :wall:
    3. OH has suddenly come around to my way of thinking with the debts and now he also wants to get them all paid off ASAP - I think the car costing us so much in repairs is starting to get on his nerves as he's asked how long it will take to pay things off and raise enough money to get a new car from a dealer instead of a private buyer ;)
    4. OH has decided that while he is off next week he'll try to get one of his bank accounts switched to a joint account  so we can save any spare money into it for birthdays etc. PLUS he is thinking that I should set up a savings account that we can sub-divide into things like Xmas, car etc. I don't know whats going on but I'm liking it :D
    5. I found at least one flower on my tiny strawberry plants.
    6. I found a load of flowers (still green and closed but getting there) on my tomato plants
    7. DD's sunflowers are starting to die off (:() but there are going to be hundreds of seeds so they can be sold on eBay ;) especially as I found another packet of sunflower seeds mixed in with my veg ones!
    8. I've done a half-weekly shop (only to last us until Monday) and it came to less than £7 :T
    9. I've found 5p in the street in total.
    10. I went out in our alleyway today and have rescued
      1. A large stained rug which will cover most of my large flowerbed once the tomatoes have finished. I'll plant Potato plants through it over the winter.
      2. Some underlay which I will use to cover my smaller long flower bed once it is cleared.
      3. A childs paddlingpool/sandpit thing what I'm going to clean up and fill with compost then we can grow some radish / lettuce / strawberries or something in it.
      4. I want to rescue 2 large sandstone blocks which have been dumped but I can't lift them so I'll ask OH when he gets in to help me as they will be PERFECT to raise the new veg patch up off the floor :D
    11. DD took gifts and thank you cards in to her teachers today - homemade gift bag from some ribbon and curtain off cuts (free) with personalised bookmarks (I got a craft set for Xmas with these in so Free), small bottle of animal bubblebath (£3.75 for 7 bottles - 1 for each teacher and 3 to be put away for Xmas pressies for IL's) and a small thank you card (had the card in and she used my craft kit so these were basically free as well!). The teachers were made up and one said "You always give us such imaginative, original gifts how do you do it?" :o Then they proceeded to tell me what a wonderful and clever child DD is being able to write things of her own accord :D Apparently yesterday she drew her hand on a white board, coloured it in and then wrote "Louises hand" - she's only 4 and the teachers can't believe it and were even more amazed when I told them that she can read "The Very Hungry Caterpillar" on her own except for the day when it eats alot of food as she's only just getting there with that one.
DD brought her report home from nursery (last week but I forgot to mention this) and its all excellent so we said she could have a prize. We took her to ELC where she picked a "My first knitting kit" and has asked me to teach her to knit! She also wants a new leappad (£35!) as she's broken her other one but its cheaper from Asda (£18)

Right off to get DD from nursery where she has had a party today :D
Creeping back in for accountability after falling off the wagon in 2016.
Need to get back to old style in modern ways, watching the pennies and getting stuff done!

    Morning all,

lots going on all over the thread this morning!

Bits of OS going on for me...well, I saved money because of the bus strike. By getting the train instead, I have saved £1! Now, that does mean a bit more of a walk at either end than by bus, but for £5 a week, I think I'm going to change over. Flaming rip-off buses, no returns before 8:45, sting the workers! During term-time, we get a bus pass to travel free, but that's not until the end of September now, so I must take advantage of the nice weather...and it'a lovely walk for 10 mins up a wooded driveway to the office, so...I wish I was doing the pin money challenge! On the last bus strike the train guy didn't even come around for tickets, so Isaved £2.80 that day!!

Last night I used my bath water to water the garden. My boyfriend was a bit sceptical at first, because of the soap, but I pointed out I only use chemical-free vegetable soap. He was a star, helping me fill buckets and take them out and water everything. And he's been filling the watering can through the day with water that he runs to get my drinking water cold enough, and various other bits and pieces.

BUT, not too sure about that liquid soap I made. Seems to be going a bit solid, but separating...I'll see how I go, but not my biggest success!

One very non-OS thing is my breakfast this week. I had a weird craving this week for Coco-pops; something I never buy. :o So I got a box and have been eating them morning, noon and night...very odd!

My day did not start well, I was awake for hours during the night so slept in......

Load of washing on the line, listed 3 items on e bay, rushed round with the duster and hoover, phone call from DD1 she is coming up with a very large box of surf and a bottle of white vineger she got from makro for me, so need to bake some biscuits a bit quick.......

OH paying bowls this afternoon, so 4 hours at least to myself,,,, great... no supper to get either he gets a meal at the club so I will do myself two boiled eggs with toast and a dish of strawberries and cream yummy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Expecting the chap who is putting the gates on our garden so we can get the caravan in the back, the storage site fees run out tomorrow..... and also a chap who is coming to sort out my wireless connection then we can use the laptop on the internet from downstairs......... scones made for bribery tea????? I find chaps work better of you treat them well.............. once had a builder bring me a bouquet of flowers from his men because I had kept them fed and watered whilst they built me an extension and moved the garden wall back 12 feet........

Hello fellow OSers. Had quite an OS day today. Kids off to school today (last day for them tomorrow), so making the most of it. Am typing this whilst on my 'lunch break' - homemade bread toasted cheese. Have tidied the living room, made rolls in the bread machine and baked them with a topping of poppy seeds and sesame seds, will be yummy to mop up juices of liver casserole for tea. Kitchen tidied and mopped, but of course bread crumbs everywhere now (again). Will be making thank you cards for the kids to give to their teachers in the morning. I don't believe in the boxes of chocs and flower giving thing, believing instead that a homemade card or gift is much more appreciated - well I hope so anyway!
Hope you all have a good day.

Gosh, everyone is very busy today! I've just popped on here to avoid the pile of ironing that I've got waiting for me downstairs................. I've got the tv on, and it's just a case of finding the will power to work my way through it. Doing the ironing to the news just doesn't float my boat though!

Contratulations nicki on getting all those things sorted! And your DD being able to read "The Very Hungry Caterpillar" at the age of 4 - I am very impressed :). She really deserves a treat - and one which will turn her into an Old Styler too. You must be very proud :D.
