Jo - I was going to say the same as Elona - can't you just say you're married?

Some things are a bit stoopid, really. I was once invited to go to a garden party at Buck House (yes, really) as my partners guest, but as I wasn't married to then OH, we were quickly uninvited!! I mean, what difference does it make if you're engaged, but haven't actually had your wedding day?

Well, the rest of my day didn't go as planned. Couldn't make moussaka as when I went to get mince from freezer, I found the door hadn't shut properly last night, so it's been working overtime and has frozen all the shelves up - will have to get my steam stripper out tomorrow and defrost it to get at the food! Couldn't make nuggets as didn't have enough breadcrumbs and breadmaker was still making a loaf. So we all ended up with pizza and salad, and the carrot and corriander soup I DID manage to make.

Then, loaf using plain flour was !!!!!! - too doughy, but I did only put it on a light bake. As I was comparing flours, I had to put the next loaf using bread flour on the same program. It did rise a little more, but I still gave it another 15 mins on bake, so should be edible. My betterware breadbag arrived today so I have my 2nd loaf in that and the doughy first one has been sliced and dried out in the oven, for breadcrumbs for tomorrow's nuggets!

Nearly missed a mystery shopping job, which would have been a nightmare - had an email saying all assessors who didn't do some specific ones would have all others for that company deallocated and no more given! That was quite lucrative last month!

To top it all, DS2 is STILL awake! Just caught him with my nail scissors cutting up a colouring book (I hope there were no proper books in the pile) I've tucked him back up and am now typing this, listening to him play with his leap-pad! Grrrrrrrrrrrrrr KIDS!! He'll be a nightmare tomorrow, but at least I'm going out for a couple of hours mystery shopping in the morning.

Oh well, this was going to be a quick post, but I've no-one else to rant to as Mr TM is out (again). Never mind, must go and open one of his bottles of wine :D:D

The lemon curd recipe in our Old Style Recipe Collection (posted by Glad) is dead easy and seriously yummy! :)

Anything else I can tempt you to cook? :D

I did think about saying we were married at first, but then I didnt want to look like an idiot if they wanted some more proof, the landlords down here are a bit, well, strange. I looked through the private lettings part of the paper today, and there was a house with a cheap deposit, so im thinking this might also be a plan of attack.

I mean - Who wouldnt want to rent to me and my boyf??? We are quiet, love being at home, and I cook from scratch, quilt and knit, and attempt to grow garlic bulbs that have been mysteriously damaged. Im also a bit of a whizz with the cleaning and whilst boyf may be lazy, im whipping him into shape - so much so - the dreaded maybe future mother in law actually gave me a bunch of lovely flowers today when she came to visit her son, and have some sainsburys vouchers, and a nice bottle of wine. I think ill start calling her the lovely maybe future mother in law. Has a better ring to it somehow.

Anyhoo - exhausted again, off too bed now!

p.s - thank you to everyone who has had a kind word to say today, and have given me some ideas which I will try tomorrow!

    Jo xx
