Afternoon all, I finally got here.
I must be completely stupid, the utility room has not finished being plastered yet and what have I done this morning? Vaccumed all the carpets and cleaned all the floors of the plaster dust that has accumulated over the last two days. I know I should have waited but my parents were coming and I didn't want them to see the house in such a mess
I've also cleaned and tidied the kids room, made all the beds and have taken the cooker apart to clean it. I'm just about to grab the ladder and wire brush the peeling paint from the utility room in preparation to paint it. Then I just have to seal the floor with pva and paint the concrete and that's that room finished. Then I have to put the understairs cupboard door back on. stick down some wallpaper that's coming adrift and paint the dining room door.Organised people are just too lazy to look for things

Yes, I can empathise with how difficult it can be to incorporate OS methods into your schedule with FT work and a 17mo ((hugs))
catznine - awww, what a wonderful gift idea for your friends plus supporting local fundraising at the same time :T
Loadsabob - Great idea :T :T :T
I've just repotted 3 houseplants that had become rather pot boundThink they should have told me sooner that they were growing out of their shoes! Hopefully, they won't go into shock and will thrive instead
The largest one has sentimental value attached because it belonged to dh's younger brother and we inherited it when he died ... I'll never forgive myself if I kill it off!

Went down to 'earth up' the taters this morning and noticed quite a lot of 'bird cherries' on the tree. They look bigger than usual and taste sort of like ordinary cherries(they are about 1cm in diameter),we're away for 2 weeks from tomorrow but when I come back I might try making some Jam(if the birds havent had the lot by then) just to see if its possible.DS had his college interviews yesterday and was accepted by the sixth form college which he prefered anyway as they have hundreds of computers
.Bit of a triumph as he has homeschooled since age 9 and the other college said he wouldnt know enough to do his A levels  (Even though he has done his GCSE's at adult ed). We're off to buy some fruit for the long drive tomorrow and finish the packing when we get back.

OS gone out the window again so far this morning......ended up at the docs and then hospital with DD1 who's managed to get herself a nasty bladder infection!! She's feeling better now of course after worrying us senseless last night!
Was supposed to be having an outside tap fitted this morning by my dad but got an early call to say their cat had a stroke this morning so they were off to the vets.....not heard back from them yet so no idea how he's doing.
Got stuck in yesterday to making a dress for DD1 for her Tudor experience day they are having next week, got a few pics from the net and fashioned something together out of an old curtain, some lining fabric and a satin table cloth, just needs a few alterations to finish it and we'll make use of her being off school today to make a headdress and some jewelery to go with it.
Had my shopping delived by Tesco last night but ended up with so many items missing or substituted that I wish I'd gone myself, will have to pop in there tonight to get the bits I need. Hubby has been and got himself invited to the RADA gala dinnery thingy at the Savoy next week, I'm hoping I get a doggy bag!!
Hope you all have a good weekend"Start every day off with a smile and get it over with" - W. C. Field.0 -
I woke up really lare this morning and am now feeling a little miserable after reading my emails - ive had one from the head of the department who wants me to go in next week regarding failed exam - and now im worried. Im just hoping they dont recommend re-taking the year as I already have re-taken it (last year came down with a viral infection which knocked me out for about 3 months) and I simpy cant do it again. I never really enjoyed it as I made a very wrong decision about what to study - and have regretted it from the word go. If thats what they try and force, im simply going to give up because I simply cant do another year, im 25 now and simply want to go out and work - its less hassle....
Aside from that, the weather here is miserable, its one of those awful cold looking grey days that is actually really warm, so I still feel exhausted.
Oh well, I think ill just spend the day on the computer finding a job - I still have to send about 5 CV's out!
Have a lovely day....

Our baby is due in August
just been to a French market at Salford Quays. If anybody is in the area this weekend it's worth a visit. Not quite a money saving spot but REAL food. Fresh bread, proper cheese, honey, jams. Ace. (spent my budget  )0 -

Jo,
having to re-sit your year the first time was NOT your fault - neither is not passing the exam but that's neither here nor there. I would have a word with any student counsellor you can get hold of. Your GP should also be able to do a letter pleading your case (i type enough of them here!) Don't give up! I was given the option of taking the rest of the year out when my MUm died but I said to the head of the faculty at the time that I wouldn't want to come back if I did - so, go in there and kick some @$$ (as our american cousins so politely say.... )
Again I prescribe something trashy - perhaps CSI and  !!!!
Let me know how you go on. Hugs.
Gillian aka RAGE (because that's how I feel most of the time with the rest of the world!)
