margaret - how's your back?
Rage - take it easy at work! :T Great news on OH work front :T
Kippsy - try Matalan and Asda for your insulated lunch box
eyeopener - do you have an Asian corner shop (not quite supermarket) you could get your tinned toms there?
nabowla - :T great start to your day! When you write your ToDo List, put a 1 - 2 -3 next to each item and then give the must do's a 1, should do's a 2 and the might do's a 3 ... that way, if you get sidetracked by anything, you'll have managed to get the priorities done 1st
Chipps - enjoy your time at the HE Group
E-lass - as your school hols begin earlier than ours .. may I ask when they go back for the Autumn Term?
apple_mint - enjoy your shopping trip for/with dd ... point her in the direction of the "reduced" countersLOL
pink fairy - good luck with your coupons and PMS! :T
Patio swooshed, cats ears treated, dishes all done. I'm going to "hang out" on MSE for a bit before I make a start on my jobsLOL

Gosh Queenie - you are so organised. I am afraid that I have given myself the day off from being OS today
I have a raging hangover and left the packed lunch in the fridge - ooops. It'll keep until tea time when I head off to the Coldplay concert. I'm very excited. Actually more like a small child who has eaten a whole tube of blue smarties!!!! :rotfl:
 have a good day everyone and enjoy the weekend :wave:r.mac, you are so wise and wonderful, that post was lovely and so insightful!0 -
I was up at 6am this morning BY CHOICE!!! OH nearly fainted when I walked in the livingroom at 6.30 with the laundry, full dressed and then told him the bedroom was tidy and the bed was made. :rotfl: I then proceded to wash a batch of dishes (I didn't do any yesterday
). OH then appeared with an only-just-washed-and-dried shirt which he wanted ironing as "it's too hot for the black one and he's never gonna wear the 5 white shirts that are hanging up" So by the time I'd ironed that (while reading here
) plus a pair of jeans and a top for me to wear tomorrow I was no further ahead than I would normally be when DD got up at 7.30!
Since then I've done the school run including donations for the summer fair, dug through my Xmas boxes looking for a silly hat for DD (silly socks & hats day so she's gone in to nursery wearing odd socks and a sun hat that used to belong to my brother as it was the only one in the house except woolly or baseball caps ) which she only told me about at 8.45 this morning! I also told the teacher she has nits (treated her last night so she should be clear) and paid her snack money.
Left school and went to the local chandlers to look for Birox (sp?) but they didn't have any so I tried to Co-op. While I was there I remembered that OH needed cola which is on 2 for £2.20 and I picked up some Hula Hoops (3 for 2) as a treat for me and they have a competition on *fingers crossed* but no soappowder stuff.
First lot of laundry out, another load about to be put in then I need to tackle another load of dishes and my ebay auctions which finish in 30 minutes. Oh and I need to upload another set of items
I'm going to see Starlight Express with OH tonight (he paid for the tickets but I'm paying for transport/drinks/food) as part of his birthday pressie. It had better be loud otherwise I can see myself falling asleep. I've even been known to fall asleep in the cinemaCreeping back in for accountability after falling off the wagon in 2016.Need to get back to old style in modern ways, watching the pennies and getting stuff done!0 -
Nicki I have to bear in mind what night I take my OH to the cinema, if he is tired there is no point and he will just sleep.
We both went to stratford-upon-avon one weekend and had booked to see Macbeth on the friday when we arrived, (the saturday was fully booked by the time I called) and we both kept falling asleep!
At least we could both remember the basic story from school!oooh look only about 220 posts and I got round to doing my Avatar already!!0 -
r.mac - have a wicked time at the Cold Play Concert :j :T Want to read all about it tomorrow!!
nicki - oooooh Starlight Express!! :j (I lurve theatre!) Have a really good night enjoying your OH birthday pressie :T
I've fallen asleep in the cinema ....... *I snored so wasn't even discreet*

Ooo I'm so jealous!!! I saw Starlight Express when I was about 17 which was erm...... only a couple of years ago *cough*
I hope you have a fantastic time - I'm sure it will be too exciting for you to fall asleep!
I'm trying to get organised and have a mega tidy round while DD is at pre-school - we are out visiting/strawberry picking/working etc. over the weekend. So I had better log off and get on with it!
Have a good weekend all x0 -
I've said it before and I'll say it again - I LOVE IT HERE!!!
I really find everyone's thoughts and ideaas so inspirational. I read this thread a lot, but often don't get chance to comment on everyones' days. Rest assured though, it all impacts on my own, and the feeling I have that there are lots of us out there.
I am again delighted to find myself thinking around every item of food in my house. The yellowing cabbage that was perfectly edible, but would have gone in the compost before, is now chopped and in the freezer ready to add to mash and onions next time. The left-over swede from the last roast, likewise, meaning one less expense for this weekend's roast...you get the picture! I'm thinking more of BOGOF veg, knowing I can freeze the leftover, ready for another meal.
Was a LITTLE annoyed yesterday evening. Was let off work early, so treated myself to a bout of food shopping in my non-supermarket shops. Got a lovely looking savoy from the greengrocers for 79p (not cheap!)...only to find the organic ones in Tesco on BOGOGF for £1.29!!!!!!!! Have consoled myself with the whole local shop / not Tesco thing...but am still a little irked!!!
Anyway, I've been thinking about Christmas this morning (don't shoot me!), and reading back over last year's Christmas threads here. I was on the verge of starting an OS Christmas thread, to be ongoing over the months for us to add to as we start on our preparations - when we start making cards / each gift we've completed / christmas cake soaking etc etc (like an OS Christmas support group!)...but I thought I may get threown out of the forum for saying the C-word in July...Perhaps I should just keep it to myself for now, and start my planning quietly...til at least October?!...0 -
I've never seen Starlight Express before but OH has. Infact he's been to see it a few times while he lived in London so he's seen it in the West End (apparently Student Discount and tickets that haven't been picked up in time are really cheap
). Last week there was a review in the local paper (we don't buy it but I try to catch up through speaking to my mum and nana on a Saturday - saves me about 38p a day
) and when OH read it he said that this show is not going to be as good as the West End show as this one only has one bit of set/stage coming out into the audience and anything else is viewed with 3D glasses so he's started criticising it before we even get there
You see this is the problem with us both being trained in the technical side of the theatre - we go to see a show and I end up watching the lighting, costume and set while OH tries to watch the show but ends up at the end of it critising the show from a technical point or wondering how they did certain things:rolleyes: Ah well, I'm hoping the bottle of whiskey and coke will stop that tonight
My auctions have ended and I've made .... £20.43 just in sales which including postage charges comes to £25.32 :j:j Thats just from 10 items that sold. This will count as virtual PIN until I can transfer it across to my bank account and then use the £50 (any less and I get charged by Paypal to transfer it  ) to pay for the postage on the more expensive items. At this rate I will be listing things on ebay until Christmas as other things keep getting added to the "not evemn photographed yet" pile :rolleyes:Creeping back in for accountability after falling off the wagon in 2016.Need to get back to old style in modern ways, watching the pennies and getting stuff done!0 -
Morning all, It's a lovely day here so I felt quite motivated this morning and started cleaning out the kitchen cupboards. I've been ruthless and chucked all sorts of things away or put them in the charity bag, why does anyone need 4 salt and pepper grinders?
My order from Lakeland arrived and I am so thrilled, I have been looking for ages for a cleaning thing on a stick for doing the bathroom, I can't bend down so cleaning the shower cubicle is really difficult. Anyway Lakeland were selling them at half price so I got two, only £3.50 each, bargain. That's the next job after I've had a coffee and hung the washing out.
Expensive time at the vet last night, she didn't think that tranquillisers would work because they have to be taken before the dog starts panicing and our dog starts digging long before the storm arrives. So he is having some long term drug which is supposed to alter anxious behavior, £26 a month, hope they work. The vet said that the digging is just a form of obsessive behaviour like animals pacing up and down or running round in circles.
OS weekend for us, more painting, shopping at Aldi and the farmers market on Sunday morning.
Enjoy Coldplay and Starlight Express and whatever else you're doing.0 -
Nikki - enjoy Starlight Express. I havn't seen that one yet, so I am very jealous!!!
Loadsabob - OS support for Christmas is a good idea. I would join in.r.mac, you are so wise and wonderful, that post was lovely and so insightful!0
