sorry for being dense but what do you get points for on toluna, do you just wait to be emailed for survey participation? I don't get the whole surveys thing and its not very well explained on the siteThis thing we call failure is not falling down but staying down :beer:0

Hi and welcome to the world of surveys!
Points are payment for any surveys you do.
The main reason you are paid in poins is that "2000 points for a 20 to 25 minute survey" looks to the survey filler alot better then "30 pence for a 20 to 25 minute survey". This helps them keep thier 'customers' happy (or hooked in);)
Different surveys sites have different credits per survey, for example, toluna asks you to get 60000 for £10 of vouchers (amazon, paypal, whatever they offer, its your choice how and when your paid, as long as you have the points, you can ask for the vouchers). Typically a survey from toluna will pay somewhere around 1000 to 3000 points.
While on the otherhand, Lightspeed ask you to get 1100 for £10 worth of vouchers. Typically its 110 for a survey.:D (You do the math!)
Other survey sites will again, pay differently, some will ask you to get a certain amount before you can request anything such as Onepoll or Yougov who ask for £40 before they send a cheque out.
Its possible to join as many as you want. Some will pay better then others, by far (as you can see) but some send more surveys then others, giveing you more of a chance to get what you want. Pureprofile pay well, even if you dont qualify you get something, and can get upto around £2 plus if you do qualify. Trouble is, your lucky if you get one a month from them.
Survey sites normally contact you if they have a survey to do. And the provide a direct link- always check your junk box, it could be lost otherwise. But some require you to log into the site and look for yourself. (Onepoll).
Surveys will normally ask one or two questions before deciding if your in thier candidate range before letting you do the whole survey. Its generally the first 3 or 4 questions, dont ask me why, you will have already filled out a profile when joining the survey site yet they still ask you for your details (ie male/female, age etc). Bit irritating, but dont do the obvious and lie to try to get them to let you do the survey and get paid, they do find out and can take back the points/not pay you. Its not happened to me personally, but I have read both on here and elsewhere that its happened to others.
It can be done- you can get something back! but it all takes time and alot of being screened out. Ciao are the worst, you do about a 20 minute survey, then your screened out and get nothing. I am waiting my £5 before I leave them. I have £2.90 in total so far, then I leave, they are really out of order.
I hope that helps, my top tip? ignore any that say they will put you in a sweepstakes as payment, you will never win- I have been doing surveys for years and years (since at uni) and many used to say "in addition we will put you in our sweepstakes", but its never anything I won. I wouldnt bother unless they offered cash/points aswel.
Goodluck.
Oh, another tip- get a new email address, I never have gotten any spam from the surveys I do, but you never know. Its not worth having your personal inbox tied up with rubbish!0 -

Nope, its the only way toluna works- still cant understand why it takes them over 2 months to email vouchers to you if you ask- lightspeed are near enough instant- take about 24 hours for me,- makes you wonder !?!0 -
