I'm certainly no mathmetician, but if you divide 80 000 points by 3000, the answer is 26.66.
A £15 reward costs 80 000 points, therefore you would have to complete 27 surveys to reach reward.
That works out at approximately 55p per 3000 point survey (I think!)
Of course, most surveys are worth approx 2400 points, therefore you have to complete more surveys to reach reward.
Survey length varies, I have one sat in my inbox for 3000 points, length 30 minutes, some take less time. I'm definitely not going to bother with this one.0 -
I noticed a reference to Toluna in the Freebies topics on MSE and clicked in to see what people were saying about them these days. I had kicked them into touch about 18 months ago and frankly I was surprised to hear they were still in business. Reading the posts it seems nothing has changed. Toluna have to be the worst survey site in the world and they treat their members like dirt (or worse !!) They took over so many decent survey sites and then immediately imposed all their dirty tricks and delays. The one thing that was quite amazing about Toluna was the interaction and camaraderie between the members. Whilst lots of members voiced their strong feelings about Toluna's attitude and complacency (and often got censored for so doing) others refused to acknowledge there was any problem and battled on spending hours every day trying to acheive their next voucher.
If you are thinking of joining them - my advise is "don't bother".
If you are a member and struggling - keep hammering away until you get enough points for your next voucher, then stop doing anything and wait for your last voucher to arrive. (Yes I know that will be months !!) Once it arrives - cancel your membership.
There are a lot more survey sites out there that are decent and reliable and you don't have to put up with Toluna's crap.0 -
Well said that man! Good advice indeed!0

I am about to close my account. The rip-offs are geting worse. You fill out a survey which can take a good 20 mins, the bar at the top reads 100% you even get a message saying "Thank you for completing this survey please rate it." Then on the next screen it says that you didn't meet the profile. If you contact Toluna they'll tell you that you completed the survey too quickly based on their estimates so wont be getting points. Then they'll ignore all future e-mails.
This happens a great deal. They get the answers they want and kick you off. Also you'll be awarded points but they aren't added to your account and they just disapear.
If you post a topic complaining about ANYTHING to do with Toluna they'l take it down within seconds.
Please don't waste your time on this con!!!!0 -
I too have noticed that if you post a topic criticising Toluna in any way; when it is entirely justified, it never appears. If you do complete an actual survey, I would advise taking a screenshot of the completion page (including the address line at the top of your browser) as proof of its completion. Then write on it the number of the survey, the date of its completion and the number of points. You can do this in any image-editing program. Also keep the survey invitation. Frankly, for the tiny number of points you get for these surveys, to have to go to all this trouble to get your points added and then on top of that more hassle to actually get Toluna to send your reward, is just too much. I'm still waiting for points from way before the six weeks Toluna alleges they take! You won't see me for dust once those points are added! :mad:0

Apparently they don't communicate by email anymore so now I have to resubmit all my complaints through their !!!!!! useless support centre which keeps redirecting me back to the home page whenever I try to submit anything - convenient that isn't it! WHY DO TOLUNA HATE ME SO MUCH? Grr.
ETA: on a slightly cheerier note, did MSE really just let me post the word '!!!!!!' without "!!!"ing it out? *Checks* Why yes. Interesting.
Toluna obviously hasn't changed much. (Oh why do people use so many abbreviations these days? I couldn't understand much of the above Post! 'FML'? 'ETA'? 'MSE'?)

Well it always seems obvious when told, but you have to make allowances for age. My generation always tends to write words out in full; even when we do know the abbrevations for things, we know others of our generation probably won't, so we don't use them, even when using our (basic) mobile phones! But...thanks for the heads up!

I have been a member of Toluna for ages and I had a £15 voucher a few weeks back.
I currently have 19,000 points approx. I've been thinking about cancelling my membership for a while, as it takes forever to reach the required points. I'm also a member of mysurvey (formerly lightspeed) and Ipsos, and you are able to get vouchers much quicker there. Onepoll, I'm struggling with, been a member for a couple of years, never managed to reach payout and have only got about £28 at the moment.Striving to clear the mortgage before it finishes in Dec 2028 - amount currently owed - £26,322.670
