We used to buy the expensive microwaves and although they lasted for ages, for us, they had loads of features we simply do not use. We took a chance and bought a much cheaper model from the supermarket and now would not look back. The fact that this model has all the extras and at no extra cost is brilliant. thanks for the post!!!Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. "Ode to a Delta Combi"
I bought one when Aldi had them in first time round in 2006 and it got plenty of use (mainly as an oven) until it stopped working after about 15 months. It went completely dead on me between one day and the next, suddenly showing no signs of life whatsoever. I did all the usual checks for blown fuses and failed household wiring but it was totally kaput.
Unfortunately I had mislaid the receipt and I couldn't be bothered taking it back to Aldi but I reckon I got my 64 quid's worth of use out of it anyway. I have since moved house and I left the unit behind. However, I brought my LG Intellowave microwave with me since it's still going strong, even though it's much older than the Delta.
The Delta's only bad points, apart from the little matter of its early demise, are that it's big and it's heavy. Everything else is good. Its stainless steel innards are easy to keep clean, the glass turntable is enormous, it has powerful microwaving capabilities, it grills efficiently and - best of all for a single bloke - it's a quick and easy oven for one. I never felt guilty about crisping up a couple of crusty rolls or warming a plate in it, like I would with the cooker. It would go from 15C to 200C in no time at all, compared to the cooker's cavernous oven.
By the way, mine had the controls arranged differently to the one in the OP's picture. I distinctly remember that mine had a rotary temperature control.0 -

Im really sorry to bump this old topic, but the EXACT same thing has happened to me! 13 Months, and it wont heat anything now...
Did you still have the reciept and packaging, because I dont think I have either now.0 -
