the convector bit is the same as a normal oven, if you look in the book there is a preheat function to get it to say 180c, then if the pack says 20 minutes at 180c then just set the timer for 20 minutes
the metal grill bit allows hot air to circulate round the whole item while its cooking, ie a jacket potato crisped all round
I would microwave a spud first to cook through, then set it to go to convector to crisp, it says in the book you can combine these functions
I'm assuming the grill function is watch it brown like a normal grill
just playing with the thing now
I have always understood that you should never put metal in a microwave, so I;m guessing that if I did what you suggested above, I would microwave the spud just on the glass tray, and then add the metal grill bit when I change to the oven part?0 -
Ok, I get the whole microwave, oven or grill usage. The bit that I am unsure about is combining both the Microwave and grill, or the microwave and oven feature?
I mean, how should I now cook a Jacket potato? I'm guessing blast it in the microwave for a few minutes, and then taking it out, cutting it open and then adding fillings and then adding it back but this time under the grill?

you can stop and take spud out after microwaving, then put it back in on the metal grill tray to grill the toppingEx forum ambassador
