A bit tardy with this, sorry. The Quorn Hotpot was absolutely fantastic and a right bargain at only 4 WW points (253 kcals petrichor :)). Stick it with some low-cal veggies and you'd be in healthy eating heaven. I shall be buying more of those, and no mistake.

Today - Bachelors Pasta n sauce, 6 Quorn 'Meat'balls, a large onion and a liberal sprinkling of extra hot chili powder. Bring it on, it's in the nuke machine as we speak!!

Today is the last weigh in of the current 5lb challenge. There are quite a few people who haven't posted a WI at all this month. Would it be acceptable for me to remove them from the chart on to a little chart of their own ... a sort of in abeyance chart .... which I wouldn't post? It would make the proper chart more readable.

Do let me know - particularly if you are one of those who haven't sent a WI this month.
I say definitely do this granny: I automatically 'hid' anyone who hadn't posted at all for 2 consequetive weeks unless they regularly posted and just happened not to lose any weight (hi vixarooni:D )(you don't need to put them in a separate chart, just select their name/row and right click and press 'hide'. You can unhide them if they come back. Otherwise, as you say the chart becomes far more unweildy and messy and a bit more time consuming for you. Anyone who hasn't posted recently is unlikely to respond methinks.
I try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days attack me at once
  • Granny, -3lbs for me this week :)

Thanks everyone for all the info about breakfast etc - I've played around with what I am/aren't eating, so with any luck, the weight loss should be a bit more regular than it has been from now... (and of course, saying that has just completely jinxed it all!! lol). My day generally starts and ends a bit later than it used to (the joys of being a full time student ;)). Breakfast is now around 9, and I'm forcing myself to eat something, even if its just a bit of fruit. Lunch is always at 12, because we have to clear the workshops at uni then for the technicians lunch break. I'm trying to make sure I'm eating dinner somewhere between 6 and 7 now. It's been happening anywhere from 5 through til 9.30ish recently, so if I can make sure its always around the same time, I don't mind letting myself have something snacky later in the evening - I'm often still up at midnight finishing off research, so sometimes find myself getting the munchies around 9pm - if I always make sure I've got the points left over to be able to do this, then with any luck, I won't end up snacking on junk! I'll let you know how it goes lol

Well done to all the losers/maintainers and huge hugs to everyone else...

QT I think you're being way too hard on yourself - and perhaps you need to let up a bit and take in a bit more food. I know that I didn't get much of a loss this week because I had starved my body the previous week - if you starve your body will strive to replace it's energy stores at the first opportunity. I don't know what scientific basis there is for that assertion, but I've ben told it for years so I've always taken it as gospel.

Well done to those of you who have managed to lose this week :j and to those of you that gained, well, it isn't the end of the world:cool: . Noone is letting anybody here down and you aren't letting yourselves down either, it's just one of those  things :D Everyone of us has had bad patches when all seems pointless, but these do pass! If it was that easy, dieting wouldn't be the gazillion £ industry that it is, and it's all for free here :j :j ...

...Granny 30lbs is one heck of an achievement:T , especially when you can pick that weight up it makes you realise what it does feel like (IYKWIM?:o ). I carried a 5lb bag of potatoes from the shops today, and that made me decide not to regain that much if any, I think my joints will be grateful to me...

...Marion I find a food diary to be invaluable and still do, just make sure that you remember to write things in as you go, as it is very easy to 'forget';) something later on in the day...

...Good luck Bails with your lesson today, show them who's boss :D Don't try to do too much at once, I hope that you're feeling okay otherwise...

    ...Your Purpleness :D Only 2lbs on? I think that's great :j The maintainers club beckons I feel ;) ...
I wish that I could be the oldest AND wisest....sadly it's not the latter :p but my time will come _party_ wooooh hoooh! Beware!!!!!!!

Firstly well done to all those that have lost and maintained...I know it is not easy and you guys have worked hard, to all those that have put on, we have to just keep going it is true, everyone has a bad week/month!

Secondly thank you everyone for your support, I think I was being a drama queen yesterday, but when I weighed myself I really thought that something was gonna go, I even went jogging on the weekend, which took alot to do. I guess I just felt like crap when I realised, that since starting to try and change things all I have done at the end of the month is put more weight on!

So sorry for my little hissy fit, as BB said I think I do need a structure, so I think I am gonna start either WW or SW, when I look into them! I know it will go if I really put my mind to it and if I am patient.

KPC I think my problem is that I am eating too much food rather than too little!

I think my main problems are not getting enough exercise, because I live with other students, we have a cooking rota, so for 3 days of the week I am eating what they cook, and put on the plate for me. I think I need to tell them that I no longer wanna be part of the rota and cook food that is more healthy for me.

So I this has just made me more determined for next months challenge!!!

    Thanks guys!

    QT xxx :)

.......yep, the body works like a stockholder. If it doesn't get a regular supply of a commodity (in this case energy) then it will make a buffer store of that commodity (in this case fat) so that it can use it later, as it has no idea where the next supply is coming from.
  • :Dweigh to gooooooowa grannynise dancing.gif. 30lbs, half way there. And just think how much good you have already done to your heart, liver, joints :T . By the new academic year you'll be a completely new woman :j .

Ah, petrichor, you just can't wait to get a new playmate in the maintainers corner can you :D . But her (most gracious) purpleness is holding out for a wee bit longer to see how the land lies when her health has stopped b*gg*ring about quite so much:rolleyes: .
Good to hear from you QT. Hissy fits are totally allowed here - better out than in. I, of course, would highly recommend SW as you can eat a surprising amount of food. BUt other's swear by WW. It just depends what suits you. Do feel free to ask questions about either. Difficult one re the cooking rota: it's good to be involved with your housemates, but does I agree make you far less in control of what you eat. Many of their recipes are probably very adaptable (swopping high fat ingredients for low fat etc) but of course they would have to be motivated to do that and if they don't need to lose weight they won't .
well done taffy,AIB, jillie and pixie:T . And yes vix - you are doing well to sts: not to be underestimated. Welcome to the world of ironing. You'll find you may buy a lot less linen based things this summer!!
Ajax - I love the quorn 'meat'balls - we have them with ratatouille and an HEa portion of grated cheese. Yummy.Going to try the shephards pie next on victory's recommendation.

    taffy,jillie, pixie:j :j :j

aib I always take my lunch with me if we are off out, fruit if it's the afternoon for a snack etc so why not? Take it, better that than a fry up:D

seren where would we be? Well, I GUESS larger, less fit, much unhealthier and wishing more to be not;) :D

ajax I found reading the back of the quorn ready meal packages as I have to, there was a high content of sugar/fats and salts in the meals, I ended up settling for the one advertised on the tele, cottage pie, low in sugars, fats, salt and cals and it was lovely, ab fab, much better than the WW one and will def buy it again:D
