  • Reporting a 4 lb weight gain this week. That is more than I put on Christmas week and I had really pushed out the boat then! I honestly, hand on heart do not understand how I could have put on this week. After last week I made sure I stuck to the plan and within my syn allowance. I am very depressed now and just feel like a total failure. Why oh why does this have to be so hard?

    Marion
Hi Marion, sorry you are understandibly disheartened. Perhaps it will turn out to one of those weird blips.Bodies can be weird sometimes and not logical. Keep on track and try and look at the next month's worth of results. By the end of a month you may see a good overall loss that encompasses a gain or two. Do allow yourself all 15 syns a day? I found I didn't lose if I went over 7ish a day, but then I have to lead a fairly sedintry life.

Bails, that's so yahoo.gif I've got to hi5.gif. A small step forward, yet an enormous one too :grouphug: .
Beanie - well done on the loss - right direction. Lilaclille - really pleased for you after such disappointment last week. Hang on to the knowledge that disappointing weeks can be followed by really good weeks.

Re the topic of cash to lose weight - yeah I think the money could be much better spend on helping peeps see why and how they get overweight in the first place and the whole eomotion thing around food. Did anyone see the Jamie Oliver prog the other week where he showed how the food we eat now differs from the same food we ate 50 years ago e.g sausages used to always have 80% meat but the usual supermarket ones now have 30% meat and a lot more carp added. Ditto burgers etc. It was quite an eye opener. It's worth spending more to get better quality was his arguement, (even if that means having meat less often)rather than feeling you had to cut out all these foods altogether.
Off topic, but has anyone any suggestions - I store fresh meat in portions for 2 in the freezer in plastic freezer bags but this doen't feel very environmentally sound: does anyone havea better method (and no, becoming a vegetarian isn't an option I wish to explore:D )

Joy.....i have gained 2lb..and really sad about it..i have really let you all and myself down!!
  • Marion - big hugs, we all know how you feel, but keep going.

Don't worry about putting on QT, just keep motivated, guys, when I feel low, everything goes to pot and I do terribly, we must draw a line under a certain bad day or week and start again ( I had a bad month!) and I still keep letting myself down, but we're all heading in the right direction.

Petrichor - I get loads of cards on the 14/2 - but only 'cos it's my birthday! lol

Emmalis - Congratulations, I did send a bit of magic with your secret santa (well, a little wish for you to get what you wanted!) Enjoy, and stay with us.

    Bails, keep posting, won't you.

Ajax - small world, my hubbies friend at work knows Shaun who was on deal or no deal, he'd heard he was driving around in a new Jaguar, so we watched with anticipation that he would have a big win, but it was not to be. It always makes things more watchable when you 'sort of' know someone, doesn't it.

I was doing well this week, till my hubby ordered a curry, and I ate half (and it was ......korma!!!) So back to it tomorrow, weigh in Thursday - gawd help me!

    Take care all x

QT, please don't think you've let any of us down: that's just not possible -we are here to support and share advice. (and occasionally threaten with a big stick, only on request). Every week some of us put weight on. It about what you do next that matters. Do you think you might do better with an actually plan to follow, rather than the greater temptations of DIY. Losing weight can be very hard and it seems you haven't found the right way for you to do this yet. Be kind to yourself and spend sometime assessing where you think it's going wrong for you. If you feel comfortable to, share with us what you think so we can support you in a more informed way. You will only get support here.

    Hi guys
Great losses this week, special well done to LL after last week's disappointment.

I've decided to take a break for a while - I'll still be popping in to say Hi etc, just need to refocus for a little. Don't worry, I'm not disappearing!
Good luck to everyone still to WI; Grannynise, there'll be no WI from me this week. Thankyou for doing the chart.
    Take care all xx

Good luck for tomorrow, and do post an update from time to time.

  • Just quickly posting this week's weigh in - lost 1lb - think this time will be a slower, steady thing
    I'd rather be watching CSI!
  • I've lost 0.6lbs on last week. I'm quite pleased with this as I have not been calorie counting at all, just trying to be sensible, and I have also been exercising more.
    Start Date: 27/11/2010
    Padding: Day 42
    Target £8000
    Amount: £562.23

Lost 1lb this week, making a total of 30lb. This is half of what I plan to lose altogether so it's quite a mile stone. It's also about what my grandaughter weighs so I've got a good idea of what it feels like to carry 30lbs around .... HEAVY.
No time to read now, will catch up later. Chart should be up about 7.00, should be a bit quicker than last week now I think I knowwhat I'm doing!

bindi :Dnice to see you again

    bails don't disappear;)

retiredlady there is always an explanation for everything, just a case of finding it, weight water, totm, body fat turning to body muscle, the scales are not aligned properly, too heavier clothes on while weighing, on the different websites it says that (a woman weighed 12 days a day!!!) that on each one she could get a different reading because of flutuations and not to do it. ,

qt never feel you have let yourself down or us down it is not like that, we are all here to support and help you along the weight loss journey, all in the same boat, trundling along, it is not a competition, it will come off of that I have no doubt xx

lik, inter,gs WELL DONE on your loses xx
