How do you not count anything though bails and know you are staying within your points/calories/allowance for the day/week?

I so agree it is not just about weight loss, xmas proved that to me, you are what you eat and def feel much more energized, happy, etc with proper food than the xmas stuff where I felt pretty much yuck the whole time still ate it though lol xx

From what understand about Bails post and previous posts Victory is that she doesn't have the ponits/syns/calorie limits in the first place (Shout out if I've got the wrong end of the stick Bails..). Bails is working at mastering the psychology behind whyshe want to eat bucket loads of food and instead listens to the body...when bails tum says its full...she's getting tuned in enough to go...hmmm...don't want the extra slice...

I think this also extends to...bails is tired = bails rest up unlike a lot of people (including me a lot) who ignore it all until they run down.... I've been trying a little bails therapy on the side which I have picked up from the odd post....thinking about and acknowledging food before it gets munched and I've set a bed time of 11...as I was always knackered out from going to bed gone midnight then having to get up early

It sounds like a very interesting and valuable approach from what bails has shared with us.... again bails...if I have it wrong fling the corrections out

    Ive finished my exams!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It feels fab. Went to the pub and took great pleausre in having double tia marias with full fat coke and a wkd blue. Good old spoons! Todays exam was just boring, but im glad its all over. Thanks for all the good lucks! it worked i think, i answered all the questions so hopefully i will get over 40% and pass them all!

Food wise: Im still 10stone 4lb! I tried on a top in missy selfridges, actually felt thin! That was a weird moment. Ive been having my anchor spreadable on toast every morning, i had a korma yesterday (oh my god they orgasmic) and a four fingered kit kat. Thats all i ate though, so i didnt eat from 3 till the next day so i hope i didnt over do it even though it was total fat fat fat. I'll be back on the wagon sunday, got time to really focus on my exercise now!

Im really excited about exercising. I wanna look all cool and get my sports bra on with just my trousers so i can look like a cool fitness person.

forgive me if i make mistakes, wrote sodding 16 pages today! if only i did that for all my assignments!

Pixie: You are GOOD! ive never been a week ahead!
  • Congratulations Vix!!

    Fingers crossed for the results

how spectacularly unimpressed he was when I told him! :D

:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:.........I've found with quite a few things in the past that when I've needed to learn something, I made a point of understanding the reason and the why for it, the how is then is a lot easier...(I know what I mean:o ) Good luck Bails :j :j and well done for meeting this months challenge, must be doing something right :D ...

...Beanielou You little star :j well done, keep it up :j ...

It's as Serendis said Victory, I simply have no points or allowance! :D I'm sure that would scare the living daylights out of some of you (and I don't mean that disrespectfully at all of course - it would've scared me once too) but I find it very liberating! And paradoxically, it doesn't mean I go all out and stuff my face. Of course I must have some calorie intake limit but I don't know what it is and don't intend to find out :D This isn't 'burying my head in the sand' but trusting in myself. In order to have a truly accurate calorie calculation for me, I would need to see a professional who could take into account every minute detail of my life and extenuating circumstances; even then this would only be a guideline. I don't need this kind of precision in my life and I'm happy to trust my instincts, and that my own body can tell me what it needs. I must stress it has taken me a long time (and some brilliant help for the past year) to reach this stage but I do finally feel like I've 'arrived' at a solution.

And yes Serendisglair, you have understood and explained everything perfectly. I actually feel honoured that you would take on board what I've said and try it out so thankyou!:jI hope it helps you.

Well done Vix, glad it's over for you now!

Thanks for the explanation Bails! I do admire your methods. A more natural and holistic approach to what I eat would suit me better as a person too, that's something I'd like to work towards in the future. Right now, it's all about finding out my maintain level, and once I've done that for a while I'm hoping it will happen more automatically and then I can stop counting.

I've done my annual "bills review" this afternoon. I've identified over £200 worth of savings I can make this year without changing an awful lot so it was more productive than I thought, bearing in mind I only went through it 12 months ago!

    Vix :j :j I bet you feel liberated:D

bails ,seren thanks for explanation, I do feel the answer is the word trust yourself, I don't, I have a greedy pig gene:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: and under no circumstances do I trust myself so don't have it in the first place, in the house, when I go out, etc,I have noticed by watching my mother a lot recently that she does eat one hell of a lot but then the very next day and maybe for a few days after that her intake is no more than a salad for dinner with tuna so it counter acts her heavy food days, I have tried to aspire to that but let me loose and I am off, near on binge because 'I can', my relationship with food is not to feed me, it is more of feelings of depriving, resentment, guilt, binge, panic, cut back, have nothing, seems a lot of negatives there but I do really enjoy what I eat and I know it is good for me and healthy and the best but looking around at my kids, H,others with no probs can drive me insane sometimes and so on comes the massive eating marathon to feel like them but they gain nothing I gain for England:rotfl: :rotfl:

I have learnt a lot though, I know myself I do not need to sit and eat say 6 slices of toast in one go just because I can, my body does not need it, the cals are too high, I can and do make do with 2 slices now as 'normal people do' I really need to learn to appreciate the fact I can have 2 which is better than none rather than focusing on the annoyance that I want 6, that everyone else can have 6 if they so wish and nothing but not me:D

I'm sure you're an angel in disguise Victory :)
  • Victory, The trust will come in time (believe me i have the greedy gene in the form of eyes bigger than stomach!)....Its a bit like when you eat out and you;re starving and you look at the plate and you think...'Is that all they're giving me!?!?' but by the end of the meal you find out it was the right size after all...

Its the same in that a bowl of cereal looks really pathetic :-)

You have found a routine and outlook that suits your lifestyle and that is fantastic! You will eventually learn to trust yourself more and more...just give it the odd go a litle at a time...if you have problems trusting yourself with the toast make the OH go into the kitchen and make it for you :D

Everything about this WL adventure is 'horses for courses'....no one has the same method, likes or dislikes but at the same time we all learn from each other and manage to incorporate tips into our 'plans'....

From you we learn that you have determination and hot lemon in bucketfuls. :D
  • hello peeps
the good news is that I've seen my consultant and given her fears of MRSA, and the [strike]disturbing [/strike]delightful sight of Mr BB in full (aformentioned) garb she has agreed to me staying at home if I promise to keep to 20hrs bedrest a day and am looked after. Good result - she and I agree with you delly - hosp isn't always the best place if you are sick!!
I feel lousy but I have seen intermittant signs of improvement.tea.gif
