Morning all!
Anic, great to hear you had such a lovely time! Marion is right, of course you deserve it!
Snap, Victory, I had more than usual for breakfast too and will have to go easy on the rest of the day! Yesterday didn't work out too well though, I had too many cals left and not enough hours in the day! So I have some in hand for today anyway
There's still plenty of food around for my "use stuff up" challenge, which just proves I keep too much in the house! I reckon I can get away with just a light top-up shop and then do this through February tooI'm really looking forward to getting smarter about my grocery shopping.
What's everyone up to this weekend?0 -
mmmm, beans on toast . . . . making me quite fancy that - i might indulge at weekend when i'm having a green day.
I'm off out for yet another meal tonight so trying to be really good during hte day - cottage cheese, pineapple and a ww yoghurt for lunch. Has anyone else tried the WW dessert yoghurts? They come in a four pack and you get lemon tart, raspberry tart, strawberry tart and and toffee apple something or other. The apple one is 1/2 syn, the rst are free and they are blimmin lovely. The mullerlights are better value, but they still taste like yoghurt and I don't really like that tangy sort of taste. These don't!0 -
:hello:Morning everyone, been missing you! Was at my best friend's mum's funeral yesterday so no time to catch up on here. I'm back now though and am treating myself to a whole morning of MSE! :T
I feel I am approaching my WL in quite a different way to peeps on here at the mo so I'm not really going to talk about that, which is a bit weird for a WL thread! Our own ways are working for each of us so that's the main thing though; keep up the good work everyone!
Jules, I'm sorry that you're going to have to go to court, I hope things are as painless as possible for you, your OH and the kids. Thinking of you.
Anic, I'm glad to hear you're having such a wonderful birthday week, and you do deserve it!
Suggs, hope you get a game in tomorrow and that your finger holds up ok.
Missy, did you get any more decluttering done? I had a big clearout from under our stairs, it was ace! I'm going to give Ebay a go, will it say on there when the next cheap listings day is?
This weekend it's my mum's 60th so I'm sorting out her present today (along with a million other things) and having my legs waxed  Bit mashed so I hope they're gentle with me.
Petrichor and BB, hope you're both doing okay, lots love x
GN, thanks for taking over the chart, hope I have a loss to report to you next week (I don't want to get put in the naughty corner:D).
KPC, don't worry about the 5lbs, concnetrate on now. Sounds like you are a lot more focused and in control, go you!
Newbies, I feel like I'm neglecting you a little at themo and I'm sorry about that, just one of those times when I have a lot on my plate. You're all doing really well!
Take care everyone, struggling a bit here but will be on form again soon xxThe 1,000 Day Challenge:Feb 16, 2016500/30,000

*kicks net connection hard* Useless machine! Mmy laptop has decided to reject the wireless connection at home, so i have to reconnect every 5 minutes or so... Its so frustrating!
Not doing bad diet-wise this week, Core plan was definately the way to go, mmm, lots and lots of fruit... And stir-fry. What more does a girl need?
Hope your last exam goes well Vix, and yes, your boyfriend does indeed sound like a complete star!
Have been working incredibly hard at uni all this week, in fact, I'm kinda shocked at myself with how much I've got done! With any luck, at this rate, I'll be finished a full week ahead of deadline (and of course saying that means that I've just jinxed myself and I'll be panicking right up to assessment)
Happy Friday everyone!!**"Cheer up, it could get worse" - I cheered up, and look, it got worse!**0 -

Oh go on ... tell us! hearing about very different ways of approaching WL is even more interesting than hearing the usual ways. And sometimes if you get a bit stuck trying a different eating pattern can be really helpful.
I love that food focus site. Thanks:T to the pereson who told us about it. I've still followed SW but at the same time I've been recording calories on that site ... felt I hadn't had very good losses recently and I wanted to see if I was eating far too much. I probably was a bit generous with myself, but then I am greedy.
I'm sure you won't be going in the naughty corner Bails ... but do I get to look after the bitey boot whilst I do the chart?0 -
Nice to see you back Bails! Sorry to hear about the loss of your best friend's Mum
I'd be interested to hear about your different approach to the WL if you do feel like sharing? You are so right, it is important for everyone to find that method that works for you as an individual! What are you up to for your Mum's 60th, anything nice?
I need a more suitable word than "declutter" these days, as that stage is over (not that I was massively cluttered in the first place). I'm down into the nitty gritty now! This morning I've thinned down my two personal "memorabilia" boxes into one box which was easier than I thought but I still think I have too much.
Yes, keep checking ebay's home page, there will be a note on there a couple of days before the next cheap listing day. If I spot it drop you a note!
Jacket potato for lunch today - think Victory has set the trend for beans today0 -
Yes guys, happy to share - don't be expecting rocket science though!
Um, trying to think what I do do now! I guess the main difference is that I don't count anything - with as much honesty as I can muster for an open forum, I have had a LOT of problems with food and have found that this approach is disastrous for me personally (I am in no way knocking it for other people though, lots of you are having great success with this). My approach is entirely based on the psychology of eating, and listening very carefully to what my body needs. That's quite different to listening to the little voices in my head shouting 'I WANT CHOCOLATE!'It's about really getting in tune with what my body is asking for and then providing that, whatever it might be. It's not just about food either; things like rest or physical activity etc also come into it. For me, this is fundamental to my recovery (I believe).
My dad noticed yesterday that I have lost weight (he's where my sporty gene comes from so he would love to see me back playing again) and asked me how I was doing it - my mum is from the SW/WW etc school of thought and diet/binge era, so he was expecting something along those lines; how spectacularly unimpressed he was when I told him! And that's it, it really isn't rocket science but it works for me. I never feel hungry or deprived, I love my food and WL has become a side issue; a bonus! I also vaguely eat low-GL (as that is meant to help with the illness, but makes complete sense for everyone), although I do still have chocolate etc whenever the mood takes me!
The most fundamentally important thing in WL for me is that the changes are sustainable. The only way that the weight will stay off is if the plan you follow is for life. 'Quick fixes' have disastrous consequences once you start eating proper food again. Above all, this is about our whole health, not simply the weight aspect of it, and it's key not to forget that in the quest for WL.
Sorry for the soapbox feel to the post, you did ask!
I wish everyone health and happiness in their chosen path to WL xxThe 1,000 Day Challenge:Feb 16, 2016500/30,000

sorry i dont understand the concept of this thread and how it is to help you??0

How do you not count anything though bails and know you are staying within your points/calories/allowance for the day/week?
I so agree it is not just about weight loss, xmas proved that to me, you are what you eat and def feel much more energized, happy, etc with proper food than the xmas stuff where I felt pretty much yuck the whole time still ate it though lol xx0 -
Thankyou Bails!!
I find your method extremely interesting and I think you have your priorities the right way round!! WL as a side effect to looking after your health.
Acid...The point of this thread is the same as all those across this website namely help, support and encouragment and experience. Everyone new seems to contribute more tips and has various takes on life. The specifics of this thead is in the title...namely we all want to lose a bit of weight and this thread is helping us through advice, support and information and generally cheerful banter.0
