  • well my bread is baking away nicely again. my soup otoh is not. silly me turned the slow cooker on but not at the wall so it was off all day while i was out. i figure a couple hours on the stove will have to do instead.

qt2006 yes hm bread is far far nicer than shop bought. if you don't want to buy a breadmaker it is possible to make it in the oven, but heaps more work and effort so its years since i have done so.

  • i am grateful it was only soup, i can cook it on the hob in time to feed my friends when they get here. id have been gutted if it had been something like stew that even on the hob i cook for 3 or 4 hours.

i do love my toys :D

.....whoa there, not before the watershed (but please post all the details after 9pm) :)

I once left my slow cooker on all night doing a stew. It wasn't a pretty sight in the morning.
  • get your mind out of the gutter lol

Somewhat. The crispy black crusty bits certainly added body.

With regards to the other thing..... never!! lol
  • crispy black crusty bits can actually be quite tasty. i have yet to have that joy out of my slow cooker.
ive just realised i seem to be buying appliances at the rate of one a month. december was a stick hand blender, january was my slow cooker, feb has been my breadmaker....what should i buy in march?
(and i wonder why i still ahve no money even though im no longer buying cigarettes lol)

Wouldn't be without my mean lean grilling machine me (ditto slow cooker, & hand blender).Oohhhh Lakelands..sigh...
I try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days attack me at once
  • Juicer/Smoothie thingy purplecatlover - I know smoothies can be high in points/cals, but hell I really love mine (well, my mums... i'm trying to convince her that she doesn't need it, and should let me take it back to uni with me... not winning at the mo!). Could never have the willpower for a bread machine though... We have one in the house at uni, but luckily, it needs repairing so I can't use it... Seriously, just the smell of fresh bread is enough to make me starving!
**"Cheer up, it could get worse" - I cheered up, and look, it got worse!**
  • got a grillling thingymabob and a jug blender which works great for smoothies but rarely gets used because i hate to clean it. same reason why i don't bake very often i hate the washing up afterwards.

i guess im lucky, the smell of cooking food actually tends to make me want to eat less.
