Ooooh a breadmaker..I will have to put that on my list..
I didn't even know that wholemeal flour existed...wow!
what does tepid water mean...is it like lukewarm or summat?
Thanks ajax.....whooohooI try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days attack me at once0 -
Victory, your post made me shed a tear of happiness - I am so over the moon that you feel able to enjoy food knowing that you are the one in control!:T I'm happy that I may have helped a little but it is YOU that has made this shift possible so a massive well done to you for taking what is a very difficult step - trusting in yourself. You have made my month!! :j
I really hope that this afternoon is as stressfree as it can be and that you are taken good care of. Will be thinking of you and sending good vibes xxxThe 1,000 Day Challenge:Feb 16, 2016500/30,000

Think carefully - can you be strict with yourself and not consume half a loaf at a time (It's just I know I couldn't:rolleyes: ) Ajax, being a bloke, can get away with eating more.
.....she makes a good point. I don't count calories, I count weight watchers points as I find it easier. I get 29 (cos I'm a bloke and a fat bloater), and a big hunk of bread is about 4. If I was female and more svelte I'd never get away with it.
QT, also it's not just wholemeal flour, it has to be strong wholemeal flour (or indeed strong white flour if making a white loaf). Regular flour isn't designed for breadmaking. A 1.5kg bag of strong flour is about 70p depending on brand.
And yeah, tepid is lukewarm0 -
ummm..thanks for the warning BB...i am not sure about my self control cos i have never really tried homemade bread...but the time I tasted a homemade roll it was the best....so i dunno...0

Hi everyone! Nice to see you all today.
Well done Claire, great result, and thanks for the link, looks very interesting, especially as I'm working on GL principles too. I have done a bit of EFT before but may well revisit it, so thanks! Can I ask how long you've been doing it and how much you've lost please? What changes have you noticed since starting?
I'm still to make my own bread but I promised myself I would this half term so better get on with it as there's only a couple of days leftWent to Lidl yesterday as everyone says how good their flour is but they don't do wholemeal
I've just been for a proper look around the gym I was talking about - met a very nice man called Michael, and I have to say I'm sorely tempted to sign up! I was good though and walked away to consider it properly - the old me would've just done it and then probably regretted it. He's offered me loads of savings (of course:D) and it is still expensive but could be really worthwhile. There happens to be an open weekend there this weekend so I'm going to go along and maybe try out a yoga class, get a feel for the place. I can get OH in quite a few times a year for free and the best thing is that you get a personal trainer!! This was the biggest selling point for me as I am scared of overdoing it and having a massive setback in my recovery (a big reason why I don't make proper use of my current membership). I also sussed out a couple of places where I can work there (WiFi, quiet space etc) which is another thing I was looking for, a place away from home to mark etc. And to top it all off, they're just building a mountain bike trail! I know a lot of the things I can't use yet but it feels like a great place to build up to them, it's so close and will get me out of going stir-crazy in this house.
Hmm, sorry for the ramble, can you tell I'm excited? Now do you see how good I was to walk away without signing up immediately? :rotfl:The 1,000 Day Challenge:Feb 16, 2016500/30,000

Bails,
Couple of things to remember when thinking about gyms, sorry if you'd already considered them :-
- LA fitness and Virgin gyms are available as Tesco Clubcard Deals, so effectively a quarter of the price
- no matter what they offer you to sign up, there is always more negotiating to be done. Gym memberships fees are extremely negotiable... they've already spent the money on the kit, now they wanna recoup it. You can expect to take a minimum of a fiver a month off whatever you're offered. Whatever their final offer to you is, there's always room to come back at them for more.0 -

Well done for walking away to think -it won't go away for the sake of a little more thought. Going for the open weekend. You can't under estimate the power of liking the vibe of a place when your energies are low.
And Victory - that was amazing what you wrote about your changing attitudes to food - it thrilled me too. I have been very aware your your weekly sts results:TI try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days attack me at once0 -
Hey everyone!
Got back from Berlin late last night... And been thrown straight back into work at uniBeen given my new project brief this morning, so looks like I'll be busily researching techniques and design ideas all weekend. Oh well! Just stood on the scales, it looks like I only gained 0.5lbs - not convinced though, its not the scales I normally use and I had to convert it from kg, so I'm not going to accept anything til I get to WI on Tuesday!
Good luck for today Victory - I hope everything goes ok.
Off to see if I can use any of my pictures for research - I'll read through everything properly later on! x**"Cheer up, it could get worse" - I cheered up, and look, it got worse!**0 -
Thanks so much BB, it's really helpful to know, especially as you know my situation and where I'm coming from. And Ajax, good advice on negotiating, thanks. Here's what I'm being offered at the mo (try not to have heart failure at the prices, and I will too
): 14 months (and the rest of this month) for the price of 12 [that works out at £1.69/day], no joining fee or admin fee (£250 +£50!!); £150 in vouchers to get OH in and other offers; one day pass for him a month; 10% off beauty treatments. Um, what else? I'd get corporate rate from my school which is £61/mth instead of £72, and OH could have this rate too if he wants (he won't). This gets me free use any time of swimming pools, sauna, steam room, hydro beds (jacuzzi), exercise classes, gym, personal trainer, memory key for machines (stores my personal training programme, graphs etc), towels and locker, golf course and driving range, tennis courts, squash, running club, discount at hotels around world (unlikely to use this but you never know!). I'm not impressed by all the little stuff, just trying to give you the full picture. One of the best things is that if I am injured or, more likely, ill, I can suspend my membership as many times as I need to ie the 12 months will last until I have actually used the gym for 12 months. So, what do you reckon I could ask for, anything? I'm rubbish at these things but one of my resolutions was 'it can't hurt to ask'!

You have to ask, and I'm sure you will get.
I make that £60 a month you're paying for 12 months, and I'm sure you can get that down to the short side of £55. Tell them all the things they quote are great, but you have a budget. You promised yourself you wouldn't pay more than £50 a month and you won't. Ask them what they can knock out to bring the price down to £50. 10% off beauty treatments really means 90% of their extortionate price for beauty treatments which you'd find for half the price somewhere else. If you don't want it (driving range?!?!?!) then let them knock it out (I'd be surprised if they did really knock it out) so that you can save a quid or two per month0
