Hello everyone. I would like to join in this thread please. Dont often cook meals from scratch for various reasons. 1 long shifts and eat at work. 2 I also do a voluntary job and eat there Im starting to choose the healthier options.

Been on an away day with a friend today. Up the Northumberland coast and we went for a long walk on the beach. Then Morning coffee in a village with a beautiful castle in the background. Fish and chips  in another town while sitting at the harbour. Then afternoon coffee and cookie in a second hand bookshop which is in a old railway station. So dont think Ive eaten too badly today.

My plan is to start walking more although do walk about 20 mins to see mum and to vol job. Chocolate my biggest downfall but read in a magazine about chocolate just being solidified fat and sugar and its true.

Sorry to ramble on in my first post. Looking forward to getting to know you all.

It's always nice to get some new posters. Good luck on your weightloss or fitness plans whatever one you're doing, please stick with us because as suggs, brighton belle, victory, petrichor and all our other maintainers will tell you, it's staying with us that helps in the long run. You may have a bad week or month on your plan but it's easier to get back on track if you have the help of the lovely peeps on here.

Only one more thing to add...... please feel free to jump into the conversations on here, we are a lovely friendly bunch and if no-one gets back to you right away, either repost or wait a bit longer and someone will come along to help you out.

Suggs - your post didn't sound all me me me at all. I'm always glad to get updates on how people on here are doing.. and not always on WL either.
Goal for 09: Get fit and foxy. target weight 11st. 5/80.
Get out of dead end job and work for career I always wanted.

As this post says everything I'm thinking, perfectly, can I cheat and just say - yup, agree with all this:D Welcome newbies -(adding s009 to the list) do jump straight in - many of us here can testify that it is the support here that has this time made the differnce to getting off and then keeping it off. This is a wonderful forum.
Suggs - no way was that mememe - it's great to hear about peeps lives- -we're about looking after the whole person really aren't we, coz it all ties in to self esteem and weight issues in the end.
Poohbear - I wish you well with your news ways to cope with your ME. I hope this year sees a turn around for you - relentless illness can be very to cope with when you have lost so much of the life you loved.
Vix - delighted you've booked the hotel - good choice.
Boddy - getting walking sounds a really good idea and will help you tone up and well as lose weight.
kymrob - agree with you about the word 'diet'. So many negative conotations. As you say its a about making better choices and simple changes, allowing treats so you don't feel deprived - this needs to be long term sustainable.
Ross - we have several men around and it's always good to welcome more
Granny - so pleased the ofted is over and you are happy itht he result. Thanks so much for doing the chart after sucha frazzling few days and a meeting tonight:T

Well done to Eiluj321 for gaining the coveted SOTW award in her very first week.

We've done pretty well this week -- 33lb in total for us losers and a pretty static week for the maintainers group.

Retired lady -- you're REALLY on a roll! (A virtual roll, not a bready one, obviously)

If you've just joined us (how very very sensible of you, because this thread is fantastic) you won't see your name on the list. As soon as you post a WI i'll add you.

If your name has vanished it's because I haven't seen a WI or a post from you. If I've got that wrong (no surprise there) just let me know in the usual discrete way by posting up my error for the world to see. Don't worry I can take the shame.

    Sob, sob, sob.
