Thanks- what an excellent site!! Addicted x0

This is good, but can anyone suggest any slightly better (paid for) options?
For example, I'd like it to show what assumptions it is making - eg does Weetabix include milk or do you have to add it separately
Also if I type in "Chicken and Bacon Salad" (McDonalds) it doesn't know what I'm talking about0 -
I just had a look at this site, but I'm not impressed - they seem to work on your BMI which I just don't trust since it's about numbers rather than muscle / fat / bone ratio. I have used dailyplate for some time - others on there have had more success than me, but I'm not too dedicated at the moment. It's mostly Americans but there are UKers and others. It counts all aspects of food for you, does a breakdown of your protein / carb / fat intake in a pie chart and has lively forums.
No connection to the site, but just thought I'd spread the info!
I was using that on livestrong but was looking for an alternative. It doesn't allow you to enter the actual grammage that you eat, just how many servings. So if a serving is down as 82g and you ate 65g then you have to work out what the serving size is (0.whatever). Food Focus allows you to actually enter the grammage which is MUCH better!0 -
I registered with FoodFocus and it looks like a nice site but found that the number of calories I was allowed didn't seem to match what I had read elsewhere. I also found it a bit awkward to use.
FutureSelf (www_futureself_co_uk - you need to put the dots in, I wasn't allowed to post with links) is a different site which I find very easy to use and is also free (at the moment). I have used the site to come down from 14st 11lb to 12st 2lb and I'm still steadily losing weight!
I'd be interested to hear what others make of it...0 -
You might want to try the one at purpleweightloss dot com
It's free too.0 -
hell o sad to see the sites gone down...was totally hooked on food focus...had lost 2 lb in 5 days ...any one know if its coming back ?:A0

Shame about that - I was doing really well this week too. Not that a calorie counter site being temporarily (I hope) unavailable should mean we automatically start eating more.
This isn't the first time it's happened but it's always come back - I wish they'd pay their bills on time, or pay for extra bandwidth.
I tried to send an email with a question this week and it bounced straight back saying no one at this address. (OH) Did a search and there is a site owners name but the address is withheld so it might be a tricky operation to find out if they plan on sticking around.
It would be a shame if they aren't in it for the foreseeable as it's a good resource.
