Morning one and all
Just got back from a 1.5hr walk to the supermarket...its no longer called "a poddle" or "a dawdle" as it was originally..you should see me striding off :rotfl: overtaking folks n allsorts :j .... i realised the other day that one of the journeys i do that used to take me 1hr now takes 40mins :T .... waiting for the lighter/warmer mornings to arrive as then i will be spending sunday mornings accompanying hubby around the golf course....about 4 hrs walk at a time  ...he is on the course about 7am now..so god knows what time he will be there in summer...guess i will sleep in the car on the way there and back :rotfl:
Well -how lovely to see soooo many newbies :T ...howdy doody and welcome to you all:D- brekkie - 2 weetabix..which i actually had BEFORE i went out
- lunch - will be krisprolls with cream cheese and and apple and a yog
- dinner - i have taken a pack of minced turkey out of the freezer, and im going to make meatballs/skewers and have them with peppers on HM tortillas and a splodge of sour cream and serve them with salad
.....if they are good once i have done them i will let you all know
Glad you made it over here Mrsdoyle .... spookily when i started this i was pretty much the same as you were when you had your LBM....
We have lots of room no matter what size the newbie... and as we all lose weight there will be even more room for us all :T ....oooh we will be sharing seats in no time.
Well done on what you have allready lost :j
Saversarn....im sorry -but i can't remember the last time i laughed so much...your confession is just so funny...:rotfl:
Foreign correspondent... i found one day at a time is the easiest way to deal with it... just focus on eating sensibly for one day...even one meal at a time.
Its a lot less daunting and depressing than thinking long term... and before long it just becomes natural to select "healthier options" -which isn't to say you have to go without !!!!
i haven't banned anything..and there are no good or bad foods for me... if i want it, i have it, enjoy it and then it done.... but because i know I CAN HAVE "IT" .... it very rarely interests me...
Then of course...theres us lot..when you feel down, or fed up or bored come on here and rattle -there is always someone lurking about who will respond ...
I still need/want to shift about another 6st -but if im sat here this time next year doing it then thats fine...as for the 1st time ever, my eating isn't the be all and end all of my life :T
MHE - i was a seasoned WW member - in fact why i don't have a seat dedicated to me i don't know :rotfl: .... Do you have the WW kitchen scales? if not and you ever need to know the points in an amount of any basic ingredient PM me and i will work it out... i won't part with mine -even though at the moment i use them as normal scales:rolleyes: .
WW and SW can adapt really well to the OS way.... as they encourage you to cook from scratch..and some of their recipes are brilliant
I still use several of their recipes...including
luxury cauli cheese
root veg cobbler
mustard pork
chicken lasagne
spicy bolognaise
Hopefully coming on here along with WWing should soon have you seeing off those lbs:D
KraftyKat...i used to have a slightly different take on the pringles... i always used to say i was more a case of -"i aint gonna stop until i pop";) .
Is there anyone who you can give the chocs to? failing that what about chucking them in the bin- I know folks will think it wastefull - but it just as wastefull if you eat them -especially if you don't particularly like them -if you were enjoying them then it would be fine:p
Morning frogga my ickle green friend...now you know why im always pretty
-even when it drives you mad
... If you get down -everything seems like so much hard work... plaster that smile on and eventually it becomes natural
....plus you feel better about yourself and so WANT to look after your body..even if it doesn't yet look the way you want it to. It won't be long until you are back to the size/shape you want to be...you know you can do it
well whilst shopping i got 2 WW veggie fresh pizzas for €1 each -not exactly OS -but great as an emergancy "im suddenly hungry" that i occasionally get from hubby of a weekend and "stupid o'clock";)
Oh and 1kilo of fresh raw turkey escalops for €4.70 - so i will seperate them into steaks and freeze up....
right i had better get off as i need to get my scruffy comfies on and then im going to make the meatballs so they have time to develop for tonight
have a great day everyone..and keep up the good work
hello to all those i have missed and the regulars who are probably off grafting..newlywed, rockie, taplady etc
woohoo taplady.. nearly missed you..knew work wouldn't be far away..;)
Nix -i just love the NOM NOM NOM..... wondered if it was a typo until i realised :rotfl:-6 -8 -3 -1.5 -2.5 -3 -1.5-3.50 - brekkie - 2 weetabix..which i actually had BEFORE i went out

Hello ladies:hello: Hello newbies :hello: Gosh there are a lot of us now!!
Not too bad last night, I had a very thin 'crusty end' from OH's fresh loaf and 2 tiny polenta fingers with a bit of sweet chilli sauce during the evening. OH has slightly redeemed himself, he has a job offer (no start date yet) and today he made my breakfast for the first time in 20 years   He was up as he is emergency toddler minding today, the nursery is shut and DD had no child care. That should be fun as she is in the middle of potty training :T my little grandson..........
Today I've had boiled eggs and dry toast for brekkie and just had a banana. Lunch is a mini pot of hummus with veggie dippers and some fruit, tea will be broad bean and pea rissotto.
Exercise today is walking, train delays this morning   meant I had to walk from the far side of town to work so have already done 45 mins and will do another 30 mins tonight.
Keep smiling folks, we can do this :A0 -
Good morning all,
The first time i have checked in
Rough plan for today:
B Porridge (with a smidgeon of sugar) Large glass very weak sugar free squash
L 3 Ryvitas with dairylea light. Side salad - lettuce, cucumber, red onion. Boiled egg. Couple of tortilla chips. Small bowl grapes.
D Jacket potato with spaghetti hoops and cheese. Low sugar jelly.
S Orange, apple. Piece HM bread with a scraping of butter. Glass diet lemonade.
Am off out to the shops shortly (15 min walk there and back) and then off to work 4-11pm (riding there and back - 10 mins each way) Also need to clean the house before work so will be getting more than enough exercise today!
Hopefully i will get a chance to do a little baking today too (the famous hobnobs!)
Have a good day all xxBack and ready to save some money!0 -
Morning all! Hi to all the new faces.
Lovely to see you made it over MrsDoyle... and I've a few stone on you so you've nothing to worry about on that score.
Likkle - your poor dad.. and you. It makes you think, doesn't it? Hope he gets better soon.
Saver - you had me in stitches.... what did they say when their friends compared notes? :rotfl: :rotfl:
And those with choccies still causing upset in the house, if you can't bear to bin them, why don't you chop them up and make cookies for the kids pack ups. They won't know whats in them other than chocolate and will love them. No more chocs for you to fret about.:D Better than making yourself the beneficiary of all the reject stuff.
Can't believe I didn't get up till 10.30 today! I've missed my breakfast.
I'd saved a HM iced finger for a treat at 11 so I went straight onto that. Not too healthy but absolutely delicious.
Lunch will be late  .. ham salad sandwich with my HM seedy bread.
Tea - chicken curry, rice and HM naan bread.
Got to go make the naan bread now because I forgot I needed yoghurt yesterday so had to pop out late afternoon.
Better get off and get busy as full house home again today so I best get baking.See you all later.

Hi all,
Welcome to all the other newbies & well done to all the losers.
Having a very up & down day today - feeling very proud of myself as so far (touch wood) I am fighting the chocolate addiction. Saturday OH "treated" me to a big bar of chocolate (250g) when he got home, so instead of scoffing the lot, sharing 1/2 with OH or sitting there craving it while trying not to eat it I turned it into a simple chocolate mousse. I put some of it in small tubs for my son to take for school lunches & the rest into a big bowl. I then dished tis up for pud after it had set - it was so sweet & filling that I couldnt even eat 1/2 of the big bowl full. No extra sugar & definately one to try again.
Then on Sunday OH brought me in 2 cadburys cream eggs, these are my all time fav choccies but I was good & put them in the fridge. OH spotted them there yesterday so brought them upstairs for me to eat while we watched a movie in bed. I decided I wasnt hungry, I wasnt having a sweet stuff craving so put them to one side, they are still there this morning! I want to eat them on 2 seperate days when I am feeling I deserve a reward for behaving with my eating. I'm not banning any foods just looking for the healthy alternative, asking do I actually want it & how much do I need.
On the down side I've been ill lately with a very rough stomach, its been swollen, we're going out with OHs work mates on Sunday & I'm feeling a total lack of confidence about it. They're used to me dressing up on a night out but I havent been out in a while & nothing is hiding my tum - I look pregnant again. Confidence is at an all time low & no cash to splash on a new top. Keep telling myself its a work in progress, I will lose weight cost effectively & healthily.
I am being good though, breakfast was musilea (which strangly I cant remember how to spell today)
Going to go see what I can blend into a soup for lunch in a sec. If theres nothing I'll defrost one "I made earlier" lol
Tea is battered fish (might actually poach mine as I'm not fussed over the batter) & a bit of salad.
Have raisins I share with my 10 month old if I want a snack & a couple of apples in.
Well done with the walking MRSMCAWBER, I was just thinking yesterday that when the weathers a bit nicer & more predictable I'll have to take the LO for walks around the park in his pushchair (its quite a big park). I could take the camera out as well & get some lovely shots. You cant take a step forward with both feet on the ground0 -
Hey everyone! Not sure whethere I should post here or on the other weight loss thread but we'll start here I think. I'm trying to lose just over a stone. I find for me the best way to stop eating junk is just not to buy it or eat it. I know lot's of people for them, find the best way is to let themselves have it if they want it, but for me if I ate one bit of a chocolate bar, I would then scoff the lot! So far the only time i've been craving junk food is after tea in the evening.
Anyway you all seem friendly (i've been reading the recent posts for the last couple of days) so i'll see you all around here!Student MoneySaving Club member 017!0 -

2. One of life's mysteries is how a 2-pound box of chocolates can make a woman gain 5lbs.
3. My mind not only wanders, it sometimes leaves completely.
4. The best way to forget your troubles is to wear tight shoes.
5. The nice part about living in a small town is that when you don't know what you are doing, someone else does.
6. The older you get, the tougher it is to lose weight because by then, your body and your fat are really good friends.
7. Just when I was getting used to yesterday, along came today.
8. Sometimes I think I understand everything, and then I regain consciousness.
9. I gave up jogging for my health when my thighs kept rubbing together and setting fire to my knickers.
10. Every 7 minutes of everyday, someone in an aerobics class pulls a hamstring.
11. Amazing! You hang something in your closet for a while and it shrinks 2 sizes!
12. Skinny people irritate me! Especially when they say things like...
'You know, sometimes I forget to eat!' ......Now, I've forgotten my
address,my mother's maiden name and my keys. But I have never forgotten to eat.You have to be a special kind of stupid to forget to eat!
13. A friend of mine confused her Valium with! her birth control pills...she has 16 kids but doesn't really care.
14. My body is not all that communicative but I heard from it the other day after I said ' Body, how would you like to go to the six o'clock class of
vigorous toning?' Clear as a bell my body said ' Listen witch.....do it and die.'
15. The trouble with some women is that they get all excited about nothing and then they marry him.
16. I read this article that said the typical symptoms of stress are -eating too much; impulse buying and driving too fast. Are they kidding?
That's my idea of a perfect day!
Sorry but so much of that seems relevent
