    Hi all,

Not been very good over the past few days...just look at the scales and walk away but am not deceiving myself...weight has gone on rather than come off...really getting p***ed off with myself...I do fine for most of the day and then have a biscuit or sweet, and that's it, I just can't get enough of chocolate and anything that has millions of calories in....think that I need to give myself some kind of talking to to get something constructive going.

Today I had an egg, onion and salad sandwich and hm pizza for dinner...but I also had a third of a chocolate orange and several chocolate biscuits and feel absolutely stuffed.

Sorry for moan...congratulations to all you losers...just ignore old moaniemarie!

    Hugs to all

have kept myself busy today as to not think about eating, when ever i wanted to binge before i said to myself, do i really want to eat this or can i do something to take my mind of it, so decided when ever i felt hungry i would either drink something or go off and pamper myself in the bathroom, most times it worked:D

    must do that again:rolleyes:

  • Hello everyone - well done to the losers and commiserations to the strugglers (like me:o ).

Today has been okay foodwise - after my bad stomach/gallstones/colic experience the other night I am determined to stick to a low fat regime so today has been:

Breakfast - 2 slices of dry wholemeal toast with marmalade
Lunch - chicken breast and cranberry sauce on dry bread with cup of french onion soup, 1 apple and half a banana
Snack - 2 thin slices of dry toast with glass of skimmed milk
Dinner - small dry baked potato with prawns and baby spinach, followed by sugar free jelly. Was a bit iffy as had no dressing so dry and uninteresting.

Snack - 2 Go Ahead fruit slice bar thingies - they were lovely.

I was planning to have skinless chicken for tea but when I looked at the packet it said that there was 15.6 grams of fat per 100g (it was skinless thigh fillets) so that meant I couldn't have it (they said I should aim for everything I eat to be less than 3% fat and if it is more than that not to eat any more than 10g of fat in one meal), so the kids had it - it smelled divine - I just put the fillets in a roasting tin and sprinkled them with dry paxo sage and onion and a little salt. Kids said they were lovely, so I will do the same but with skinless breast fillets (which are only 2.7g fat per 100g) next time.

I am fairly hungry now but it is late so I might just have some hot skimmed milk with a little honey in it.

I have just done an online shop to be delivered tomorrow as I didn't want to be tempted at the supermarket. Ordered lots of fruit and veg and some go ahead bar thingies for kids lunchboxes as they are not as bad as twixes which I usually get. Has anyone got a recipe for low fat flapjacks? I am sure that someone posted something on here once but I have done a search and can't find it. I love baking and it is is so much cheaper than shop bought so if anyone has any low fat baking recipes please point them in my direction!

not exactly weight loss:cool: but did anyone see "a taste of my life" on TV before? It was an actress called Tracy Ann Oberman (ex Eastenders) and her friend made her these little cakes - they were like muffins but on the top he put buttercream and then decorated them with white and dark chocolate buttons arranged like flower petals - they were really fancy looking - I am going to make them next time we have a party of any kind.

Morning everyone :D and woohoo to the newbies :T

I have been up since about 6:30am  i got up with hubby, who left for golf at about 7am -madness is the only word for it

I have got a new loaf of bread under way, and apart from that i have been sat x stitching :p .

I will get my weetabix in a moment, and dinner (when hubby gets back)is roast chicken, roasties, carrots, nobbies, broccoli and cabbage mmmmm and if i bother with lunch I'm not sure what it will be yet :p .

Caterina -your lunch out sounds lovely..falafel especially -yumyum :D . Don't beat yourself up over the oil..at least its a "good" fat and not animal based, and we all need a certain amount of fat anyway..... just think if you average it out it only works out at about 1/2tsp a day for the next week ;)

I think i will be happy enough if i can just shift the next 1lb this week to hit my first 4st :T -although i think i need to get my lazy bum into gear :p .. its a quandry as before xmas i was going for a walk nearly every day-usually to the supermarket! But now im tightening up the spending im trying not to keep going in the shops  and i have to say i can't see me walking there and back again just for the sake of it...so i think extra house work may be called for

Meanmarie...go easy on yourself, you seem to have so much on your plate -excuse the pun :p . I think you need to be as kind to yourself as you are being to everyone else at home. Try and get some time for yourself and have a bit of a relax and a pamper -probably easier said than done...
Im sure you will soon shift those lbs :j come on-you know you can do it :D

Beemuzed... Glad you are feeling better :T have you tried putting some sultanas or any other dried fruit in your porridge? it gives it a bit more texture if you find it a bit gloopy -not to mention extra sweetness ;)

Gilly -when i did WW -anyone looking in my cupboard would have thought i had OCD -everything had its points wrillten on in magic marker :rotfl: even now a lot of the cook books i have which have the nutritional value in, have the WW points written on in pencil :D

Saversarn -glad you found us :D ...biscotti  - i have a recipe for them somewhere ..... best not try to hard to find it :rotfl:

Taplady -hope you have a good day at work..and hope mr taplady is still doing well too :D

Well i had better get off and get my weetabix even though it is 10:30 and a bit late...never mind..

hope everyone has a good day :D

You would be soo proud of me, as I resisted a swift medicinal brandy after finding the bathroom scales:p

My new plan of action is to just take the lbs from my weight, & concentrate on bringing them down....theory being the number will hopefully:rolleyes: change every week & keep me motivated:D

So as of 9:30 this morning, my starting total is 10lb.

There's something looking a bit like a bolly sauce in the freezer that I'm oiking out for today, but will very concious of the pasta portion I put with it. Also found some lovely navel oranges this week---my favourite breed:j ---so I'll have one of them too.

I'm off for half a pink grapefruit & a couple of shredded wheat......Good Luck!

    Hi bigMummaF

Don't know if you have any, but when im having bolognaise etc.. i steam some white cabbage and mix it with my smaller portion of pasta... so i still get a decent sized portion..but without loads of extra cals -but i still get my pasta "fix".. and sometimes i just have the cabbage with bolognaise over it ....
just thought it might help ;)

  • Morning all,

That recipe for Muesli slices is just want I've been looking for. Must add that to next months meals planner. Thanks MrsMc.

RC - One way that you could make your dry toast more palatable is to toast one side and when you turn it put sliced tomato with a pinch of herbs and black pepper on the other side. The tomato goes lovely and juicy but the toast still keeps its crispness. I love it with basil ripped over it, too for the final minute.

Thinking about it, I bet that chicken breast and cranberry sauce would have been lovely with your baked spud, the cranberry giving it some moisture, perhaps with a wincy bit of skimmed milk just to loosen a tad.

Wow, it's like 'ready, steady, cook,' we always fancy the other persons bag. Wish I'd eaten as healthily yesterday. :o

Best laid plans went wonky yesterday when DH walked in with RUSSIAN SLAB. My favouritus cake in the world. Had my 1/4 and enjoyed every mouthful. :D

From there on things didn't quite go to plan. This is what I had. :o

    Readybrek
    1/4 Russian slab
Pork pie salad (with savoury rice)
5 peanuts (gammon & mustard flavour)
7" piece of HM french bread & butter
    2 squares chocolate

Deary me, and absolutely no exercise, bar a jaunt around Tescos, to work it off. I stitched all day. Oh well, new day today.

    So far:

3" piece of HM french bread with strawberry jam.

Lunch - Toad in the hole with cabbage, carrots, mashed swede & gravy.

    Tea - Egg salad sandwich.

Will snack on satsumas and apples and 4 brazil nuts.

    Well that's the plan.
