I would like to join in too. I have probably according the those weight chart thingies got to loose 3 1/2 stone - but I dont like the sound of that and also think it would be impossible TBH! I am the wrong side of 30 for that. I shall aim for the 7lbs by valentines day challenge and take it a step at a time.

My main problem is I love baking (and eating it too!) so if anyone has got any o/s reciepies that are not so calorific I would be grateful.

Home cooked, portion controlled is the way for me (hopefully)

Breakfast - Buttered muffin x 1 (would normally of had 2)
Lunch - HM Sausage roll and a banana
Tea - HM Chicken nuggets with Stirfried veg and noodles.

I have to say that apart from a brief potter around the supermarket -where i didn't buy a thing :A ..i have been sat x stitching -so not much exercise for me today  , and tomorow may be the same -hubby is golfing so i may well be sat sewing again :rotfl:

Hope everyone who is feeling under the weather gets much better soon :D

Cheerfulness.... that x stitch has lots of pretty colours to work with -should be nice to do :T

well i had better go and shell the eggs -everything else is done ;) and then im off back to either sewing or knitting

Ooh a new thread! Day two of the new "you will lose weight or else" regime, kicked off by good talking to from GP, going well. I made the dreaded porridge and had that plus a small banana for breakfast. Won't pretend i enjoyed it, but... Lunch was some HM veg. soup (made enough to freeze some to take to work next week too) plus a wrap (tomato, avocado, corn + tiny bit of leftover lamb). Tonight, tho' we're out for a meal with a crowd of others. Choice made before the GP nagged me, but I'm not going to worry - it's only one meal after all, and I'll be right back on the wagon tomorrow.
Hope you're all ok. I think I'm finally getting over the chest infection and feeling better!

You Guys!!! are you trying to hide from me?
Well I found you so ner!!!
I've been angelic today:A Had porridge today measured out in my Rosemary Conley portion control pot...was about a third of what I normally have on a good day:eek:
And then I walked into town, a good hours walk each way treated myself to a posh coffee (no biscotti:osadly) and tonight I'm having smoked cod with HM cheese and chive sauce on mashed sweet potato and green beans.

I'm feeling positive and put me down for the 7lbs by valentines day thingy even though I have a wee jaunt to the states between now and then:rolleyes:

Now that sounds like a good idea.
I need to find out how much porridge, pasta, rice etc I am supposed to eat.
It would be really handy if I could mark a plastic pot with the relevant lines and then I would just need to scope as I can never be bothered with the scales.

Can I join in too please?

I weigh Tuesday mornings at work. There is a 6 week challenge running so I can do the two together. There are 6 of us in a team that we've called Wobbly Women Plus One. (5 girls plus one man)

The first weigh in was last week and I was 95.45 kg, 15 stone.

Will report in on Tuesday with some recipes for those who would like.

A tip I learned many years ago was to weigh this out in bags and then put the bags back in the box or whatever container.

I weigh out 10-12 portions every time I get a new pack of rice, pasta etc and then I know what I am cooking. If there is 3 for dinner I grab 3 bags from the box and so on.

For WW'ers write the points value on the bag at the same time and that makes life even easier. Likewise for SW, write the Syns.

    Hi All,

Not such a good day as I'd planned as the walk I was hoping to have had to be put off as OH has woken with a swollen and painful knee. Let's hope it is better by tomorrow.

Breakfast: Museli mixed with fruit and fibre, raisins and skimmed milk plus small glass of pineapple juice.

Lunch: Crackers with Camembert and cherry tomatoes and an orange.

Tea: Chicken breast with garlic and a small portion of chips, followed by a cappucino dessert which was my treat for the week from the supermarket.

Drinks: Lots of tiny skimmed milk coffees and one Coke.

Hopefully, tomorrow will be a bit healthier.

    Hi all

Yeh, new thread, nice fresh start, I really need it!

Not too happy with my eating today, but no drama about it:

Breakfast: egg, baked beans, 1 sesame ryvita - all well so far

Then I went out with DH and had lunch at a Turkish cafe:

Mixed mezze (hummus, yoghurt with cucumber, felafel, tabbouleh, aubergine and another mix of nuts and veg that I don't know the name of - but delicious!).

Mixed salads platter (lentils, broad beans, pink beans, spinach and apple, potato salad) all these bits mixed up with some dressing.

Tiny bit of pitta and a few sips of DH's freshly squeezed orange juice.

None of the basic foods was a problem, I could easily count them in but the dressings were oil-based. I estimate I must have taken some 4 tbsps oil, which is what bothers me a bit.

Dinner: so far: leftover risotto from last night (ok) and small bowl of pasta with tomato sauce (but my DD and her boyfriend cooked the sauce and it contained a bit of oil and butter - mind, it was gorgeous!).

So far, because I am still hungry, probably will have a bowl of fruit nuts and yoghurt and call it a day and be more careful tomorrow.

Meanwhile, I am totally up for the 1/2 stone down by Valentine's day, starting from my current weight of 14st. This is going to be a massive challenge for me because I am going to Italy on 6th February and coming back on 14th!!!! It means I shall have to keep to a really healthy diet during my stay in Italy - no problem while I am with my family, but it means not much dining out on pizza etc... with my DH!

    Love to all

    Caterina
Finally I'm an OAP and can travel free (in London at least!).
