Morning everyone, oooooh a new thread, how exciting!
Glad to hear so many of you are doing well :T - I hope to continue to be inspired by your success
I have been pretty ok foodwise for the past few days, although I had a mega baking session yesterday and now have loads of cakes, pies and tarts seductively calling. I am going to chuck loads of them in the freezer - in a bit of an experiment to see what will freeze successfully!
12 days into the month and another 19 to go before I weigh myself. I don't feel any thinner yet but to be honest all my clothes are elasticated and verrry forgiving so they always fit even though my weight can fluctuate a good couple of stone. I was thinking today about how old some of my clothes are - I know for sure that I am still regularly wearing night shirts that are over 10 years old!
Meals today for me are: breakfast - 2 boiled eggs and 4 slices toast
lunch - tuna salad wrap and fruit
tea - chili beef and jacket potato.
I'm trying really hard not to snack between meals and I am walking more than I used to but I am finding that my joints are aching much more than usual. I suppose it's trying to find the balance between taking exercise and not knackering my joints because of my size/weight. I've got a couple of exercise DVD's but I'm waiting to lose some more weight before I start throwing myself around the living room (much to the distress of my pets!):D
Well, that's it for now, might check in this evening - hope everyone has a great day.

Hi Peeps.....I'm thinking like the Frog lady...new thread has to mean a new start.
As you may remember, I have an adversion to weighing machines---I get the DTs just being in the same 10mile radius as the damned things:o ---but........I'll sign up for the Valentine challenge:eek:
No fads; no starvation; just portion control & wise choices.
So four weeks & four days from now, I AM going to be at least 7lb lighter than today.

Hya folks
It's good to have a new thread for a New Year!
Cheerfullness - congratulations on your weight loss :T...here's hoping I manage to loose some in the next week!
Well, I made my first bread in the bm for ages overnight (it has a timer, and I left it too late to be finished before going to bed)...it is gorgeous! Waking up to the smell of fresh bread is wonderful, but it doesn't half make you feel hungry! Luckily was off into town straight after breakfast as DS2 had eye test...still no glasses for him, yipppeee!
I made the bread with a mixture of flours: granary, wholemeal and white. I have so got used to having wholemeal, I can't quite bring myself to make a plain white one! Wholemeal breads in the bm do tend to be quite solid and heavy, so mixing white in lightens them a bit. I vaguely remember reading somewhere, if you use less salt and/or ordinary wholemeal flour (not bread) the bread turns out lighter...a series of experiments are called for methinks! Somewhere else mentioned Vitamin C tablets...any particular kind?
I have at last got my new slow cooker on, with the reduced chicken I got on Thursday night @ Mr T. It was best by today, so is fine. DH jointed and skinned it and I browned all the pieces, as well as some veg, before putting it in the slow cooker with some stock. It will be ready in plenty of time for tea.
One question for all you sc experts out there, if I want to make dumplings (I know them as dough-boys), when should I put them in...an hour before the end or more???
As everything is sorted, I might just go and get some gardening done...the sun is shining and it isn't raining...yet!
Food today
B: Special K, berries (reduced from Julian Graves) & soya milk, + OJ
b: 1 slice HM bread ...mmmmm
L: One cheese & onion roll (only one...could have been 2 or 3!) + salad, orange
b: ?
T: Chicken & dumplings from Slow cooker + veg
b: sugar free jelly + fruit
Have a great weekend folks.

I'll join in this time since it's a new thread and the old one looked so daunting with hundreds of pages to read! I lost my weight back in Dec 2005 and kept it off for a year with an online tracking site's help. I even wrote them a success story and they paid me £50 in monsoon vouchers for the pleasure! I only had 1½ stones to lose and felt great once I had made it. However in 2007 I put on dribs and drabs, then over the recent holidays I put on even more, and ended up with a stone to lose! Well some of it fell off already. I now have 7lbs to go till I am back at my "max weight" which is 3lb more than my "ideal weight" so I am up for losing 7lbs by Valentine's Day as well!IAAR/IAAMM/MFTMFAQ/IOA6BH0

*crawls from the sickbed*
Hello ladies:hello: Feeling a bit better today and hoping to get back on track soon.
I'm up for the 7lbs by Valentines challenge, I was reading the other day that it's a good idea to break weightloss into small chunks, I know I haven't got THAT much to lose but it's still hard.
Hoping to do a bit of cooking tomorrow to help me back to eating healthily, I've felt so rough that the last 2 nights OH has gone to the chippy while I've fried eggs for tea - healthy eating - not!!!
I think I'll have a complete fresh start on Monday - to go with the shiny new thread:j and weigh in then, I will try to be sensible this weekend though.
See you later ladies :A0 -
A new thread, very exciting!! :j
Hello All!
I think I'll get back on track too (to go with the new thread).
Have had a horrible cold, so haven't felt like cooking or eating properly. This meant I have just snacked (and not that healthily, either :embarasse )
Today I had a slice of HM seedy bread with a tiny scraping of butter for breakfast. Have just eaten an apple, 2 satsumas and a handful of grapes for lunch (and a little fairy cake! - made some for the kids, unfortunately the total number of cakes was not divisible by 3 - so I ate the remainder, which was the smallest one, honest!)
Have made an enormous lasagne for tonight. I just need to watch my portion size!!Jan 2015 Grocery Challenge £185.10/£5000 -
Oooh Here I was looking for the old thread and I found a twinkly new one!!
I've been 'well behaved today too.. kind of!
Breakfast.. a TINY bag of chocolaote buttons.. the daily quota I have decided I am 'allowed' and a satsuma.
Lunch.. a bowl of rice krispies and another satstuma
dinner tonight.. toad in the hole with veggies I think.. not quite decided yet.
It is lovely to see everyone being so positive and motivated.. and we do not go off on a tangent.LB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)0
