DD4 decided that Sunday dinner wouldn't be Sunday dinner without pudding, so she made an apple sponge and I made the custard and then ate some of course...just finishing my coffee now..all very nice

Hi everyone! This has not been a "good" weekend although I've really enjoyed it! DH had organised a small gathering as a surprise to celebrate my birthday on Friday evening, yesterday we entertained a couple to dinner and today we visited Mum and had a meal out! So, not very money saving, and certainly not helping the lbs to disappear! Never mind, in true OS fashion I'll be back on the wagon tomorrow, and so as not to feel too depressed I shan't weigh myself for a few days!
    Resolution:
    Think twice before spending anything!

Hi everyone, I'm back with my tail between my legs - not had a good couple of weeks. I just binged nearly every day and I feel HORRIBLE.

I consider myself to be fairly intelligent person, I know which foods to eat to be healthy, I am aware that what goes into your mouth needs to have a smaller amount of calories than the energy expended in order to lose weight.........so WHY OH WHY CAN'T I DO IT

It is a weird thing but it feels as if a large but vital part of my brain just shuts down so I can eat without remembering any of the consequences. I am fed up with myself and I am really sad too. I feel that I could die soon of a massive heart attack and I would have dug my own grave with my knife and fork.

Sorry for the depressing post, I need some help and advice from you lovely people because I want to keep trying.
I thought this week I would write everything down that I eat, make more of an effort to eat fruit and veg and take my lovely dog out a couple of times. Can anyone give me some more inspiration?

  • Dumpling,
    What can I say:confused:
been there done that and added another t shirt to my collection, how many of these t-shirts you got now.? I wish I knew why but I think we just have a weird mindset, we know it's wrong, illogical and stupid but we still do it. I'm thinking it will be like giving up smoking, I knew all the health risks, financial stats, and the fact it could harm my loved ones but it still took me about 874 attempts to crack it (14 years ago now!). Maybe one day my eating healthily head will click and and it will be as easy as giving up smoking was ...eventually. I'd suggest a group hug :grouphug: ( not a 3some as it says!)

    thank you

THIS DVD and I just took delivery of THIS ONE which I am trying tomorrow!!

The first one is my favourite.. I can do most of it without dying.. and it pays attention to my areas that need work.. butt, and thighs mainly.. I always quit when it gets to the 'floor exercises' though.. there is no way I'd lay in the crumbs on my carpet!! I also found it quite simple to do even just 2/3 months after a section. I do sometimes take some of the bounce out of it due to my knees hurting, but usually it is fine.

I'll get back to you on the other one tomorrow

I have THIS ONE TOO which I only ever did twice and felt it was way beyond my capability.. it needed coordination and you needed a certain level of mobility before you could do it. With my arthritic knees I found it too much. I may well ebay it! lol

    Hi Dumpling :D

Sorry you are feeling so low and fed up .... don't beat yourself up - i qualified as a chef when i was 18 -did nutrition etc and its only in the last 5 months or so i have got my ar*e into gear :p

Can I ask - have you been trying to eat only "good" stuff and totally banning anything remotely "bad" ?-I hate using those descriptions (and refuse to apply them to food for mysel-after years of battling)..but you know what i mean ;) ..

If so, that may be something to try and change... I have found that by totally removing those lables from all food im managing a lot better.
So nothing is banned and if i want something I have it...as a result i don't get cravings...and so eat far less than i ever would before:rolleyes:

Just try and get up in a morning thinking "ok, im going to make sensible choices for TODAY"...then just focus on each meal -sounds barking -but it might help as it seems far less daunting than thinking about how much you want to lose... think i will have something tasty and healthy for brekkie... once you have done that -only think as far as your next meal and so on ;)

I still have butter, make pastry, HM bread etc... and find that im really not missing or craving anything much...i had a bit of chocolate back home over xmas -but had none for the 4 months before and none since -but only because I don't fancy it -yet i know the second i say "i can't have XYZ " i will want it and want it NOW :o

Having a slightly smaller portion of what you want is much more satisfying than a huge plate full of something you "should have"

You CAN and WILL do this....Give yourself a little time to adjust, and perhaps just make small changes -get used to them and then make a few more...

If ever you need to let of steam, distract yourself or just swear ;) feel free to PM me... we will all get there..
So pick yourself up and put the last few days behind you and first thing in the morning have a fresh new start..

Ok im getting off my soap box now :rotfl:

have a good evening...and HELLO to evryone else :D

Mine too, especially this weekend ! Works' been a total tiring stressy bastage which always weakens my resolve. I have been eating a lot of fruit, tomatoes, apples, free range eggs, rice cakes, lean cooked meat, seeds, raisins and organic milk. Sadly on top of that I have also been eating chocolate, crisps, diet coke, tons of toast, and way too much cheese :(

I am really not one for deadlines but a dear friend is getting married at the end of March, I haven't bought an outfit yet and when I do it won't be one of those kind of outfits cos its not that kind of a wedding, LOL. But I do think that the end of this month I might bite the bullet and buy some scales and hope that will act as an incentive and not as a prison.
