Evenimg ladies:hello: Well done to all the losers
Didn't get on last night, shopped on the way home so was late in, tea took an age to cook  and then I sat down to watch 'Corrie':cry: I then opened a bottle of wine, had a glass and fell asleep in the chair

Woke up this morning at 5.10am - why can't I lie in at the weekend  I got up at 6 and did an hour of my Dancercise dvd
I fancied boiled eggs for brekkie - BIG mistake, they tasted fishy  so I just had 2 slices of toast. We were taking little grandson out today so I made sandwiches to take with us................not a good idea as I ate another slice (homemade multigrain) while making the butties (salad)

We went to the garden centre - they have a mini steam train but GS wasn't keen, when we got off OH picked him up and he weeweed!! (he's not quite 2 and Mum only started potty training this week) All over OH's jacket and jeans :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: Well, I thought it was funny!
I had a change of clothes for GS but not for OH :D so we went in the cafe and had a coffee and a giant cookie and when we got home I had ANOTHER slice of bread
So, not a good day so far...........not sure what we're having for tea, GS has gone home, OH is asleep on the sofa (he's traumatised) so we might just have pasta or jacket spuds.

Weigh in is Monday and I plan to do lots of cooking tomorrow ready for the week ahead. Last night's shopping has to last us to the end of the month now so I need to get some meals in the freezer for us.
Enjoy what's left of the day ladies :A

    Evening everyone

Some good results on here - well done everyone :T

    Here's my day yesterday:

    B: raisin wheats/sk milk
    L: tuna cous cous salad
D: red dragon pie and veg

Snacks: banana, houmous & breadsticks (6), crunch corner, 2 Lindor chocs, 1 Ferrero Rocher choc

    Fruit/veg: 5 :T

    Drinks: water x 3, oj x 1, decaf tea/sk milk x 5, herbal tea x 1

Exercise: 10 flights up and down

Triumphs: Said no to a Twix; ignored DH wanted/having mince pie; had a banana when on a sugar low; not having mayo on tuna; not binging when car was stuck in mud and needed pulling out - just the three chocs. :T

    OS tips:

tuna - added HM yogurt and a dash of balsamic to the tuna to take away the dryness, and mixed it with moist cous cous + salad bits - and it was delish! Nothing like having it with mayo, but very tasty and not dry and martyrish!

red dragon pie - oh I SO recommend this! I'm convinced my lot have no idea it's not cottage pie with minced beef. Here's the link: http://www.astray.com/recipes/?show=Red%20dragon%20pie

Cooking with dried beans is so cheap, and there is lots of info. on the web about soaking/cooking times, as are the conversions for working out how many dried beans equal a can etc etc. If you rinse the beans thoroughly after soaking, the flatulence factor is much reduced compared to tins as well :rotfl:. I found soaking and boiling the beans a right old faff to start with, but now I do it in batches and freeze what I don't need in quantities. I found the adzuki beans just in the supermarket, so they're readily available.

Does anyone have any tips on flavouring HM natural yogurt - we just tend to use it as natural yogurt and buy flavoured ones. I've tried just adding fruit, but something doesn't quite work, so specifics would be good.

    Many thanks.

When I used to make yogurt, I found that a teaspoon or more of jam of whatever flavour you like is good for varying flavours, even little cocoa stirred in is nice for chocolate flavour, or little stewed fruit...as 'dry' as possible for want of a better word to just take the plain flavour away

this could be because the chickens were fed on fishmeal based food.....or have had fish oil added to the grain to increase the omega3 content .
Try to find eggs that are from chickens not fed fishmeal or oil . Most of the bigger supermarket chains cheaper eggs (battery or barn) use fishmeal to feed the hens , the only food retailer I know of that doesn't is M&S and most organic eggs are not from fishmeal fed hens. Some supermarket free range ones are from fishmeal fed hens , the only way to be sure is to ask the retailer.

  • Hello I would like to join this thread please.

My weight has been going up and down for years. I have always fluctuated between a size 12 and 14 and being towards the bigger end depresses me.

I *think* I am just over 12 stone at the moment at 5'5. I am going to weigh myself on Monday. 14 months ago at my sons birthday party I was 10 stone 5. I saw a photo the other day and was so mad at myself for not maintaining it. This year I can't even get that dress over my boobs!

A lot of my weight gain coincides with getting a new partner and feeling "comfy" and its crept on gradually.

Ready to tackle it properly this time, as like many my previous losses have been on WW, Slimfast, Atkins diet and even slimming pills (legal, herbal ones) but it never stays off.

So I am gonna start cooking from scratch more, using natural raw ingredients.I think my diet is OK, I buy leaner cuts of meat and enjoy oily fish and fruit and veg but I rely on jars of sauces a lot and my portion sizes are probably too big. Gonna start using a side plate instead of a dinner plate I think.

The annoying thing is that my partner weighs the same as me at 6'3 and can eat as much as he wants, seriously after our evening meal his stomach is rumbling within 2 hours and he has to have supper. That also makes it harder as it tempts me to get something
