Morning all,
Really pleased because when I weighed in this morning I'd lost 3 3/4lbs. :j :j Just 1 3/4lb to go until my first stone is gone.
Now feeling very positive about losing my 7lbs for 14th Feb. I've got 3 1/4lb till target.
Todays food:
Slice buttered toast and a crunchie
Pork pie salad
2 x boiled eggs and HM bread fingers.
Snacks - oranges, clementines and handful of peanuts.
Having a lazy day with DH and going to nip to the library for a few cookery books and assemble a new list of recipes for next months menu plan.

Good luck all- just off to make some broc/stilton soup for lunch, then baked smoked cod for dinner0 -
Hi rumblytum can you tell me exactly how you do this as it sounds yummy and I probably have most of those ingredients.
Thanks
Ps is it low fat??? Assume it would be
Hi furrypig,
Well, it's just something I made up, so can't give you quantities, but basically the mixture needs to be able to fit in your loaf tin when it's all squashed in together.
Chop (rather than slice) onion and any other veg. and saute, then mix it with the herbs and chopped nuts and leftover porridge. If the mixture is too sloppy then add breadcrumbs and/or a bit of flour, and egg to bind if it looks like it needs it. I bake it for about hmmmm 20 mins at 180C. I eat it hot as a savoury dish, and slice it cold for lunches.
I guess the fat content would depend on what milk is used for the porridge/how much oil is used for sauteing/how many nuts etc, and possibly the egg if cholesterol is a worry, but I think it's a pretty healthy dish.
Sorry I'm not more specific about quantities - I'd never be able to write recipe book! Hope that helps though.

Ah Pigpen - if the scales get you that way then I'd leave it too. Not worth ruining a weekend over.
Have to say that I dumped the scales for a few years and never regretted it. They messed too much with my head. I seem to be okay with them for the last year or so but the first sign of my old paranoia and out comes the battery again.MAY GROCERY CHALLENGE £0/ £250

Hi and well done to all the losers. My weigh in will probably on Monday. I have to wait until we go into Gibraltar as there are no scales in the apartment.

Meals for today.
Breakfast: cereal with raisins and skimmed milk. Banana, pineapple juice, milky coffee
Lunch: 3 crackers with Camembert and cherry tomatoes. Apple.
Snacks: orange
Dinner: Minced beef with rice and broccoli. Natural yoghurt mixed with lemon juice and a tsp of sugar.
Drinks: Water with meals, coffees made with skimmed milk throughout the day.
Exercise: An hours walk along the beach.
Hope everyone has a good day.

Hi all,
Have had one of the dreaded Shredded Wheat with banana, honey and milk for late breakfast, with coffee.
Dinner will be stirfried chicken and rice...guest bought the stirfry so think that there are veg in it as well, will make a salad.
Will probably have a cheese'n onion sandwich later on as we have loads of cheese for some reason, put some in freezer for a more frugal time
Congratulations to losers and good luck to all

Hya Folks
Well done again to all those losers...it has been a good week weight-loss-wise. For those who stayed the same or put on...there's always next week!
My back was really painful last night, so I went to bed early with my TENS machine and had a reasonably good night's sleep.
I had to get up at 8 am this morning as my back was aching from being in bed too long, so no long lie. I then got around to doing what I should have done last night: putting washing on, making a loaf of bread in bm, making sugar-free jelly+fruit, slicing yesterday's bread and cutting up the flapjacks I made last night. I also made porridge for breakfast with Lidl's wholegrain oats ...very yummy!
Do you think I could use Jumbo oats for porridge? It would probably need soaking, or a longer cooking time I expect, I may experiment tomorrow.
Food today:
B: Wholegrain oat porridge, water & soya milk + OJ
S: Low sugar HM raisin muffin
L: HM veg soup, small slice of cheddar, 2 slices of HM bread, 2nd with butter and HM blackcurrant jam!!!.sooo yummy!
S: Peach slices (left over from making jelly)
T: HM Prawn & courgette curry (DH's speciality)
Right, off to rest in a comfy chair and decide on my seed order...rather late this year!
Have a great weekend everyone
M
