When I have leftover porridge, I make a loaf with it, by cooking lentils, onions, garlic, herbs, nuts etc with it, and baking it in a loaf tin.
Hi rumblytum can you tell me exactly how you do this as it sounds yummy and I probably have most of those ingredients.
Thanks
Ps is it low fat??? Assume it would be0 -
Horray 2lb down
MrsM - I was really craving them but it was mainly cos the lamb mince was reduced in sainsburys that I got them so soon :rotfl:
Brought some maple syrup yesterday (i will resist the temptation to eat the lot in one go) so breakfast today was porridge with raisins and about a spoonful of maple syrup. Yummy. Lunch was a chicken sandwich on HM wholegrain bread. Even sister commented on how nice the bread was and that it actually filled her up  Tea is going to be sweedish meatballs (half price in sainsburys) with rice and HM tomato sauce.I'm through accepting limits'Cuz someone says they're soSome things I cannot changeBut till I try, I'll never know!0 -
Well done to all the losers
Hi to frogga, when you pop in
Feeling yuk this afternoon. Was starving even after eating my lunch (serves me right for skipping the porridge) so bought fig rolls. But didn't feel well after my lunchtime walk to the shops so not sure it's even that
Hope everyone else is doing well.working on clearing the clutterDo I want the stuff or the space?0 -

Popped out to LIDL with hubby -got some more veg seedswell they will keep putting them where i can see them
swiss chard, spinach, long reetboot, 2 spring onions, all 19c a pack :j and sugarsnap peas - 49c.... I really should resist but im thinking "healthy eating, lots of iron etc, and saving those pennines" honest:D

Keiss.... If you are sad then im in the same club as you with the GC :rotfl: when i saw iceberg lettuce was 45c it was like i had won the lottery
RoseWood - I would have milk in your coffee, think of the extra calcium -and they reckon that folks who eat more low fat dairy loss more weight.... which i can't swear too but i know i have read it several times
Meanmarie :T on the 2lb gone ....I can't do shredded wheat -like chewing a coconut door mat..not that i have done that of course:rotfl: bleughhhhhh .... my dad used to like them with warm milk and sultanas ... can't vouch for it mind :rotfl:
woohoo frogga hope you are ok mrs
Yorkies:-
4oz plain flour
pinch of salt
1 egg
1/2pt milk -2/3milk 1/3rd water....
I always make my mix in a jug and leave it to stand in the fridge for a while (quite often all day:p )
I always use dripping or lard in the tins -even now  -but you could use oil.. i put the fat in the tins and put them in the oven until the fat is smoking
220c -425f -gas 7
and i always fill them nearly to the top and whack them in the oven for about 15-20 mins...
if you are using the little bun tin size you should get about 1doz..
I used to never flop with that method -but this new oven is a sod and so sometimes they are a bit hit and miss... but still taste great
hope it helps mrs;)
Well i will get off now..think i will have a soak with the WW mag -mum has sent me today :j ... i like it for the succes stories..although any interesting recipes will be posted -hmm after making alterations of course
have a good evening everyone.... keep up the good work-6 -8 -3 -1.5 -2.5 -3 -1.5-3.50 -
Well done to all who have lost weight and to those who have stayed the same-at least you haven't put any on!
Well finally plucked up the courage to visit Boots and stand on the super duper weighing machine which talks to you-for one awful moment I thought it was going to announce my weight to the whole shop!)
The bad news is as follows
Weight 10st 3lbs
Height 5ft 2.5 inches
BMI 25.8
Body fat 36.2%
so the challenge for me starts tomorrow and it will be 3 weeks and five days untill Valentines Day-I would like to aim for 2 lbs a week so I should end up at 9st 11 at least.
Going to see if theres is an aquafit class at my local school pool as not able to go to the gym as it aggravates my back problems.I totally agree with everybody that "slimming foods" are not the way to go-I would rather have real food but less of it.
Will report back next week-good luck to everyone0 -

I know it looks like common sense, but there is something about having a space to put the food in that looks appealing.
I did my own version. In the woolworths sale I bought a kiddies craft 'paint your own plate' set. Put the sections on that I need and it was only £2.00!! I can't believe what they're charging for a plate with lines on it!! That's ridiculous. They're cashing in on people feeling so insecure about themselves, it's vile! Basis of the whole slimming industry I suppose...0 -
What a lot of losers this week, it's brilliant! Well done to AliB, Keiss, Meanm, MaiseM and to any others that have lost this week. :T :T :T
Meanmarie - I know which set of scales I'd believe.... the first lot are clearly malfunctioning and want binning.
DH is just cooking my dinner for me, am starving. Decided to knock the sweet potato mash on the head and go for a few chips and salad with my schnitzel. OOhh can't wait. :j I will honestly be good and just have a few chips.
Celebrating DS1 getting his first wage from new job and actually earning more than he did previously. And swapping a pc and swivel chair for hard hat and steel toe boots seems to have made him finally happy. Office work clearly wasn't his thing. Kids! So no buns but a modest portion of chips seems appropriate to me tonight.
Have also got some more seeds today so I'm all set for spinach, toms, all salad and beans. Can't wait to start sowing and saving.
UPDATE: DH just brought in my dinner. Flippin' heck.... I was aiming for modest, but there's not enough on that plate to feed a 'borrower'.MAY GROCERY CHALLENGE £0/ £250
