Today wasn't the super fantastico day I had imagined it was going to be, I was doing ok until 8am
:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: oh heck, stacie. Even I can manage till half past.
Orpheus - regarding porridge, give it to the dog. If you haven't got one, find one. Yuck cold porridge.
MrsM, furry pig, juliej and all those others that have lost - well done. :T
Planned food today :
Readybrek
HM mixed bean soup
Chicken schnitzel with sweet potato mash and salad.
Will be snacking on oranges and clementines.
Need to get my body moving but its so wet and cold out. Might walk to the library but if its still chucking it down I'll drive and have a few laps round the book shelves.
All the best to those still to weigh in.
Oh, and liking the sound of these soup recipes. Have just seen one for Sweet potato and ginger in the Morrisons healthy eating brochure so may have to give that one a try, too. Looks lovely.MAY GROCERY CHALLENGE £0/ £250

Good morning everyone :hello:
Weighed in this morning to see the scales at 12st 2 - thats a 2lb loss from last week!! Hubby lost 1lb too, so he is chuffed as well since he has been working away from home alot this week so he has had to swerve a lot of temptations....Well done to all the others that have lost too :j
Exercise Yoga and tai chi were fun last night - had a couple of new members, so that always livens things up a bit - our teacher is 84 yrs old, and last night she was in a frisky mood, so I had lots of fun and came back feeling very relaxed, a little bit stretchier and positive!
PLans Friday is always a bit of a treat day for us - the consequence of the weigh in in the morning I think, but I shall have to see how we go. So the idea for today is minimum 5 f&v, treats in sensible portions
B: 1 slice hm toast with hm greengage jam, tea
L: probably hm carrot and honey soup from the freezer - seriously yummy -might have a slice of bread with it as it is friday :jnot sure, picked up some mackrell and some lemon sole at the fishmongers yesterday, so will probably be the sole - I will look through some books for some inspiration. A while back I did a sole with pea and pancetta puree - that may be worth a thought. DH and I will share a bottle of wine tonight (well, it is friday)
Temptations to avoid: dd has a friend from school home for play and tea, and is desparate that they bake cookies or biscuits ... lets see how few I need to check
Have a lovely day all - I shall check in later :wave:0 -

hi everyone, im new to this thread and i know youve been going a long time already, but i wondered if i might join you?
im wanting to loose some weight for the holiday but it is getting me down that much that im going to try and some by valentines day.
my realistic aim is approx 7lbs (which desperately needs to come off tops of my legs and a bit off my boobs).
it is dd birthday today and the kids have been promised a kfc, which is a very rare treat for us all- cos we normally cant afford such things. so i will start tomorrow posting my current weight and my meals etc.
hope ths is all ok guys xxx0 -
Welcome noggin.. always lovely to have a new person onboard!!
I had a nail appointment this morning so havejust got back.. I managed to scarf 2 slimfast cara,el bars en route.. I actually prefer them to most similar sweets so though they are only 99 calories each I have eaten something.. better than nothing I guess.. and that was the alternative.
9:20 I got the little 2 to school this morning!! lolLB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)0 -
Oh, oh, oh orpheus,
I hope I'm not too late to save the porridge - I can't bear to see food wasted.
When I have leftover porridge, I make a loaf with it, by cooking lentils, onions, garlic, herbs, nuts etc with it, and baking it in a loaf tin.
HTH and I'm not too late

Has anyone used the 'diet plate'? I've seen it on tele and my research shows it is a positive and easy way of portion control. It is V.expensive - cheapest is £19 delivered from Amazon.
I know it looks like common sense, but there is something about having a space to put the food in that looks appealing.0 -
MM - I've not tried those plate but seen them too. They did seem rather expensive. I just try to apply the 1/2 plate of veg and 1/4 carbs, 1/4 protein.
Of course when its a 'mixed' meal, like casserole and stir fry, just have to apply same rule with what goes in the pot.MAY GROCERY CHALLENGE £0/ £250
