Dry mustard and worcs sauce are my favourites for giving a bit of oomph to a vegetable soup. Do you have a stock cube too, that may help?

Eating like this worksI find it difficult to resist the 'red' foods though, and my idea of moderate alcohol is probably wonky

had a good day so far and have stuck to my menu plan, just had quorn sausages, SW chips, peas and mushrooms for tea but couldn't eat it all! need to follow your advice MRSM and use some portion control!
Am off tapping tonight so thats my exercise for the day!DH still ill at home with his back.
had my HM lentil and tomato soup today and it tasted better for freezing then reheating than it did first time round:j
Got to go and pick up DS2 form kids club, back later after Tap!:dance:Do what you love :happyhear0 -
My old reliables for adding flavour are:chicken stock cube; squeeze of tomato pur!e and pinch sugar, small amount balsamic vinegar or glug of brandy ( need to boil after this to get rid of alcohol and just leave flavour)...would not advise using all in one pot of soup!

and cherfulness.. you do not put fruit in soup.. or on pizza!! lol..
lol I know, I'm totally disgusting when it comes to food, I'll happily eat most things.I've still got an image in my head of melted chocolate served over roast chicken, if you've seen the movie Chocolat you'll know what I mean. (only time Johnny Depp couldn't compete for my attention)
Am really please with how today has gone. Eaten sensibly all day with the exception of 1 HM sultana bun... still could have been 4 so think I was still sensible.
Have a huge pan of pineapple and bean soup made for next weeks lunches so am all prepared. :j Away to do my cross stitch now and relax.
Thinking of all you getting weighed tomorrow. Let us know how you do. Is there no one that gets weighed on a Saturday like me?AUGUST GROCERY CHALLENGE £58.95/ £250

Hi Psykicpup,
Your post is ideal for the Old Style Weight Loss thread so I'll move it across for you. You should get lots of help there.

Evening all
likklegibbon hello - I'm just joined up too
psykicpup - The link thriftlady has put up is really useful, so have a read through the lists on there.
In addition to that, the following ideas might help, although I haven't got a suggestion regarding calories:
Think more carefully about what fats you use - and the quantity. Use olive oil; only use a scraping of marg. on toast; cut it out in sandwiches.
Think about using brown rice/bread/pasta rather than white.
Measure out quantities of rice or pasta, rather than chucking it in the pan and guessing by sight.
Reduce the amount of meat in a dish by adding lentils/pulses/beans.
Use less red meat in general
Use yogurt, low fat creme fraiche etc instead of cream/sour cream/mayonnaise
Use smaller plates, and watch the portion sizes.
Aim for your five fruit/veg per day.
HTH
(Am I going to get kicked off later for making a third post of the day???)

Evening all :hello:
Hello newbies :hello:
Belly dancing was great:j a good workout, boy do I sweat - sorry TMI:D but a great mood lifter too
I only ate half my lunch so have left the other half in the fridge for tomorrow. (saving money) I had some grapes on the way home and have had Cauldron sausage (last night's leftovers) (more moneysaving) new potatoes, cabbage and peas followed by yoghurt and berries.
Hopefully I'll have another good night, if I do get hungry I shall have something off Kittyscarlet's list of nibbles :T
I've got the car tomorrow so I'll get up early and go for a swim before work
See you tomorrow ladies (and gents) :A0
