Newlywed - I had a similar problem when I lost weight last time. My work trousers were really loose and one morning as I got out of the car I stood on the hem and pulled them off! I was stood in the car park in my knickers......right in front of a security camera, no wonder I was getting big grins from the car park attendants !!:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

When I was on my DMP I used to get nearly everything from Primark and Asda (still do) - you can be well dressed on a £20 budget!

  • Did anyone else hear on Radio 2 yesterday that a recent American study found that artificial sweeteners are more likely to make you fat than sugar.

I think it was on Chris Evans show, though don't quote me on it!!

If this possibly is true, the claims suggested that our bodies, were becoming so used to the sweet flavouring that we craved sweet things even more, therefore sweeteners only make our cravings greater.

If this is true, I'm stuffed apart from a banana there isn't a naturally occuring sweet flavour that I crave that could be possibly any good for me. (and don't say bananas are no good for me, you'll tip me over the edge!!!
    I had a plan..........its here somewhere.

Didn't get a chance to post yesterday as I was at my wits end with DD. She's 3 and seems to be very anxious about everything, cries easily, constantly tidies, wants hands washed & asks when daddy's coming home ALL DAY LONG!!!!. I rang health visitor & actually cried down the phone at her. She's sending DD to see a paediatrition, hopefully a step in the right direction.

You are not alone my DD is almost three and you describe her to a tee. She is very empathetic, and cries for her two baby dolls if one falls over, these and her constant need for wet wipes to keep clean. I hope its something they grow out of, she isn't as bad she used to be, she would have thrown a wobbly if you left a speck of dirt or bit of wrapper on the floor in the past. They live in such hygiencially clean environments though, so I guess to a certain extent we are instigator in their behaviour.

Thanks mikeywills, I hope you're right; but we are actually beginning to think along the lines of autism. She gets absolutely stressed out & we can't be out of her sight at all. It's not the normal clingyness that some kids have this is different......but I still hope the assessments prove me wrong.
  • Hi All,

Great to hear how well everyone is doing and commiserations to those doing less well. I seem to lose very little despite being really good and not really having a problem with going off track. Still, every lb lost is one step nearer the final goal. I used to drink loads of diet Coke and I am sure that contributed to the weight gain. I now can't stand the taste of the diet stuff after going cold turkey for a year but do have the odd glass or so of the normal stuff nowadays.

Still very grey and windy here and no sign of an improvement. Typical when we have visitors coming. They arrive tomorrow night. I had fun whizzing up some of our chicken casserole in the blender to make some homemade baby food for the freezer last night. It had chicken, carrots, onions, celery, leeks, turnip. potato and onions in and tasted delicious.

We went out with a friend earlier to find the local railway station and stopped off at a little cafe well off the tourist track. We had 2 coffees and a Coke for just 3 euros, about £2.10. Really good value.

    Meals today.
B: Muesli with skimmed milk and raisins. Pineapple juice.
L: 3 crackers with cheese and cherry tomatoes. Orange.
    Snack: Banana, 2 Cokes.
T: Cheese and bacon pie with green beans. Yoghurt.

Great to see so many new faces, plus of course all the old ones.

    Hey everyone,

I'd like to join in with the OS weightloss thread. I' just over 5'2" and have crept upto 10st and am starting to fit my larger clothes again :( Joined a meeting last summer and lost 1st but it didn't fit in with my working hours very well and felt like I was paying my subs so I could be sold various low fat ready meals and stuff. Not very OS but atleast it gave me a few pointer for where I was going wrong :)

So, after the post-Xmas slippage, I'm getting back on the weightloss wagon and starting with a 10% weightloss goal, by end of March.Wish me luck!

About the same height and weight as you.....how much do you plan to loose their (we're a great lot here I was made to feel welcome from day one:D )
    Grocery Challenge. £400. - £35.22 + £19.80 + £109.01 = £164.03
    Other spends (Clothes Luxuries etc)£11.97 + £1.19 + £7.36 + £69.00 + £38.50 + £5.50 + £23.00 +£2.00 = £158.52:shocked::sad:

    So...had a good-ish day.

Been out wandering around town for a couple of hours this morning & had a jacket n cheese with a small side salad. Then when I got home, Pup looked up at his lead in a wishful sort of way & we went for a pull:p

I didn't think we had gone far, but was out for over an hour & briefly called at a friend's house to let them know the arrangements for next week. Even then we stayed outside cuz Pup was a little less than clean, & they have cream sofas:eek:

Thought I was hungry for tea, but I've had about six oven chips & a bit of cold chicken.

Wanted to say thanks for the recipes, & I'll have to have a go with the yog cuz Pup likes it too. So good luck guys & probably catchas again tomorrow.
