Well its Friday morning, and I have a few minutes before I leave for work.:T
I have relaxed about the Social, feel a bit reticent about the results of the meeting. The fact that the Disabilities team wont help has been a blow. But I should be thankful that they think the girls are better than I do. I still cant see how a meeting of one hour is enough for anyone to assess someone.
The problem is now where to next?

With the home, things have been improving over the last few days. Twins friend that is staying(long term???) has helped around the home. :j
We now have our babyroom, (mostly as her put u up bed is in there at night.), and we have started to attack the boxes. There is only 9 or 10 boxes left to sort, they are all in my sittingroom so I will be attacking them asap as I can see them.
I managed to work in my room on the huge pile of ironing that was there. To be honest I didnt really iron it. I sorted it out into each persons piles, put it in their rooms, and told them they can iron it when they need it.:o
Looking at the state of the clothes in thier rooms I cant see the point in ironing it all, as they are not putting it away properly and its obvious they would need to iron it again anyway!.
There are masses of baby clothes that are far too small, so I will be having to find them a new home. I dont want to encourage them to hang on to them for any other babies in the future!! (Heaven forbid!!).

I am not sure the sales at work have been quite upto the last two weeks, so today I am going to see if I can spend some time on the shop floor and see if I can incourage the volunteers to offer extras when they make sales. Like the accessories that we sell, (new and secondhand).
The book man persuaded me that we needed another spinner for the paperbacks, so I have added one I borrowed from my old shop, but that means that I would expect the spinner to bring me in an extra £100 a week on sales?
The Music man has not been in for about 3 weeks now, so I have been putting out the music, video and DVDs. Funnily enough the sales have nearly doubled!!! (so whats he been doing??).
Yesterday was one of our ladies birthdays. She has learning problems, and has a carer. She was thrilled that I had remembered that she wanted a Duvet cover for her bed. (£4.50 in Wilkinsons!!). She only had one set of bedding and has to wash and dry them and put them back on the bed the same day. She was surprised by a party at her other job in the Coop, and the Specsavers staff gave her a bunch of flowers too. She may not have any family, but she had an army of people that care about her, andthat was so evident yesterday. There are good people out there!!
    Well its time for work.
hope its a good one for everyone.
by way the visitor has started a part time job in the same Pizza place as twin2, and now twin1 thinks it could be a good idea!! Heaven forbid as the benefit nightmare is about to begin.

    Hi Mooloo

The twins friend sounds like gold dust - maybe she can train your girls in doing their bit around the house.

Can you sell the outgrown baby clothes? I've heard that they go well on Ebay (never tried it myself).

I must have a look at ebay. I never get around to it. Sort the clothes out first, some are not going to be the best as they came in second hand from work anyway. But some are new, never worn. (Lost in the debris before).

The friend is only a god send in tidyness. She brings with her the threat of a ramaging section of the Albanian Muslim community. (The uncles car was completely smashed up with a pose of about 17 of them). she has also found a new fella up here already> which is pretty scarry. I dont feel like my house is my own, as she and he are about alot. Although she did start work yesterday so hopefully it wont be too long before she finds a way out of here. I am just so worried that my landlord will find out.
Well I am just making sure that BBJ is asleep before I go onto something else.
    Catch you later.

Where does the time go? I cant believe that its Sunday evening already.!
I still am living in some caos, but I suppose thats going to be the story of my life.
The babies are beginning to go down earlier and earlier, which is making it easier to babysit for them.
I have so many things sitting on the back boiler for so long, that I really have got to get my act together for July. Apart from the fast approaching Birthday later in the month.
Always a time for me to reflect on the year, and to see if anything that I had wanted to achieve at the beginning of the year has any relevance still, or if it needs a kick up the backside to start again.
I have just put the kettle on for a nice cup of tea. I have been out in the garden watering my plants, and added another one that we picked up at B & Q earlier today.
I have the TV on and just been watching Neil Diamond on at Glastonbury!. No rain today then.
Twin 2 and visitor have gone off to work at the famous Pizza parlour. Twin1 is mostly looking after the babies, as hers is already asleep.
DS is playing on the Xbox.
So time for that tea. Back in a bit.

Right, must get serious now.Just had to bail twin1 out of debt with her Avon account. £124!! She hadnt paid the bill last time, and has had charges after charges added on to It.
My first tesco order due on the 1st has topped £120. (was higher but I did a bit of editing out of some things).
My weekend away is in 2 weeks, so I have to be careful with my spending now. The weekend is all bought and paid for, the spending money is there, its just that I have bought a few clothes etc for then, and been tempted a bit more working in the shopping centre. not to mention stuff that has been coming in at work, that the staff say, would suit me. It may only be about £5.99 a dress, but it all adds up!!.
Had to transfer my slush money over as things have been adding up.
Twin2 has had more money than she should have becuase I forgot to keep a track of it on the spreadsheet.
I think I have just been too tired and stressed to do things when I should have.
So I must pull myself together and makesure I dont do that again.
I also ordered the babymat/playmat that I had promised the twins for the babyroom that we just sorted out.
Got to stop being generous and start being a miser!!.Think hitting my £1.000 slush fund has made me too relaxed. Not a good thing. It will fritter away if I am not careful, and the car mot is due in August, and the tax and a few other things, not to mention the October holiday accommodation too!. So be serious time now Mooloo. Back to watching the pennies and watching the grocery challenge.
Make sure I get the twins to organise the buying of anymore of the babymilk, nappies etc, after the ones that are on order arrive.
Not been very MSE at all.

  • Hi Mooloo, I have been following your thread and am so impressed with your energy and commitment to your family. Is there a branch of the charity Homestart near you? It is to help parents of young children and it would be ideal for your twins. The social worker should have details and I'm sure you all would benefit from it.
    cheers AA

Can I just ask what twin1 would have done if you had NOT bailed her out with her Avon account? Somehow, she has to learn!

Hi, I will have to investigate, the social were not sure it was still a running concern here, but that was between the birth of the grandchildren, and we were still in the flat. So now that we have moved I shall ask again. You never know. Thanks for that one. I should have followed up, I remember when I was running the TAMBA in Northampton we had Home Start in the same building and we used to have a deal with them for help. I also had contact with the College that was training people for their Child Care certificates, the name of which I have forgotten now. We even had a secondhand sales sheet, and a loan service organised that both the TAMBA and Home Start would co operate with. The College lent out training Nannies to the families with twins and triplets. But that was 20 years ago when I was fit and active and made the things happen that hadnt happened before I was on the committee.
Better put that on my to do list.
Time for my shower or I wont make it to work. Greasy hair look is nt a good one!!!

She would probably have just ignored it, and then it would be higher and higher, and she would have just stared at me when I told her it was urgent. (Well thats what she did over the last few weeks anyway!). What worries me is that she had paperwork for a loan somewhere around, at some rediculous APR rate, that worried me.
I will take money off of her each week, and she will pay me back eventually. I know its not ideal, but after having been a bankrupt and had bailiffs at my door before, I cant face them again.:o
