Mooloo's struggle with babies and bills

Spent so much time over the last few days reading other threads and putting in my penny worth that I havent been here on my own. I did do a long entry on Sunday evening that was biffed into cyber space.
Am working most days now, Mondays and Fridays are full time, and the others I am supposed to do 4 hours, but I seem to be there a lot longer then that, for example it was 4pm when I left yesterday, so I did 5 hours. (I was late in becuase I had physio in the morning.) They have started to manipulate my elbow as well as my neck this time. I am feeling the pain a bit this morning, in my neck, but not the elbow. Reminds me must go and take my tablets. Picked up the prescription for the coming month, end up with a small carrier bag there is that much!! Eek! Back if I get a minute, might as well move the washing on while I am in the kitchen, (2nd load of the day). When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0 -
Mooloo, wrt the bread machine, Old Style is the place to look, they have a huge bread thread.
Or perhaps simpler, when you have picked it up, you may find you can download the instruction book and recipes from t'internet. I had to do that when I lost my instructions.Signature removed for peace of mind0 -
Why didnt I think of that Savvy Sue? Thanks. Sometimes considering how much I am on this computer, I dont use it enough. If you get what I mean. I hardly stray from my emails and my MSE threads here. Are they my comfort blanket? Probably.
plans for today are all changed. I was due to go to the doctors this morning at 9.30 about a few aches and pains, but Twin1 and BBP are stranded in Towcester (their friends car broke down yesterday), and they are needed here for her Disabilites assessment today at 2. So I think that I have to go to get her. Twin2 wants to come too, so we need to load up all the baby stuff too. So I think the doctors will have to go on the back burner, so that I can get to towcester, and have a rest before I drive back here. My arm wont protest so much if I do that. I have a new apparatus to try, something called a tennis elbow strap. Its a velcro strap with a pressure point to put on my elbow, to releave the pain. Be its first try out today. Not very glamourous or anything but if it works while I am driving then all well and good.
Still havent had the bread machine taken out of the car. Maybe one of the girls will do it for me today.
I will go and lookon the Old style thread this afternoon, after the disabilities assessment has been done.
Yesterday was the Social Services Core Group meeting about Twin2 and BBJ. That was a nightmare. The dad of BBJ walked out in anger twice. Twin2 went out in tears. It was just a farce. They want her to meet the Dad with the Baby 4 times a week at the Family Centre, and let the Dad have more contact on his own with BBJ. (With his temper? Twin2 is distraught. She has finished with the Dad and wants as little access to him, as she is scared of him,!!!). They tried to rail road her into doing a childcare course starting this morning, but she doesnt want to do it. I had to stay with her last night, as she was so low, and scared the Dad would turn up at the house, as he is angry. She already agreed that she would go to the Grandparents on Saturday with him, for the day. But she really didnt want to. They are demanding to have the baby on thier own, but she is not ready to let them have him without her. I dont think the powers that be are very realistic if you ask me.
Got to go and make a phone call. When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0 -
Well I am back home, the assessors have been, and I can relax a bit. My strap for my arm worked for the lower half of my arm, but my neck is currently quite bad. Mind you it was nt very good when I got up this morning. My rent assessment has come through. So I have to pay £70.31 a week, so thats up by £22.26 a week more than last month, and the council tax has gone up by £33 a month, my wages had gone up by £59.88 a week.
£29.37 a week better of for working than staying at home on the sick!. Ah well I suppose that at least I do get some of the money. I was affraid that I was not going to be any better off at all. Although its all got to get assessed again now, as my hours have increased from 16 to 26. So watch this space.
Re the grocery challenge I have spent a little bit more on Gravy Granules and lemonade I forgot. So I must change my signature, to add that in. And the girls persuaded me to buy them a McDonalds for Lunch, so I suppose that that should also come out of the pot.?When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0 -
Another day already.
I feel really pleased that I have finally finished my curtains for my bedroom. Something that a few years ago would have taken me about an hour from start to finish, has taken me several attempts and several weeks.
I had popped out to collect my son from his friends, and put on the new arm strap thingy, and when I got back I thought, I wonder if it would work when I was sewing, as it did when driving. So I gave it a go. Yipee, it helped. I was able to sew for more than 5 minutes. I realise that I have to be careful, but if it means I can do some sewing every now and then, then it will brighten up my life as I miss my sewing. ( And eventually perhaps a way of earning for that £10 a day challenge).
Or as I noticed on Hypno's thread, £20 a day challenge she is on. But for me lets just take it one step at a time.
I have been on this computer for an hour already.
Must get on and get ready for work, then if I have time come back to read the threads etc, only if I am ready. First washing is nearly finished. Front room was tidied as I went in to put the kettle on.
Twin2 has surfaced, twin1 no where to be seen yet. DS has gone to college. When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0 -
I have just taken a big leap of faith in my budgeting. When I logged on to the internet banking I noticed that my savings had gone up by £1.44. It made me think about that target of £1,000 I wanted as a security blanket, and I have taken the plunge and while my wages have just gone in, I have transfered £297.55 across, and have made my total that magic £1,000.!! So I am hoping that I will be able to make ends meet for the rest of the month ahead, and that I can feel more comfortable with a saving to fall back on. No credit cards or loans available as a bankrupt, so I want a cushion for disasters. Mind you it has to go into my Mums account. They wont give me a Savings account, bad credit rating. Ha Ha.
Now I should be gone. Better go.When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0 -
Hi Mooloo
I'm always reading your updates even if I don't always get the time to post. I'm still amazed at how far you have come, from being cramped in a flat to a big house to now working even though you are still in pain, so you are doing really well.
When there are so many of you to budget for its no wonder from time to time you don't know whats happening moneywise but it may help you to go back to basics and keep a spending diary for literally every penny, then you can see where the most (waste) money is going to, you might find its one of the twins or DS or something completely different but it may keep you more focussed when you have so many of you to juggle money for.
Take care
