I would also bear in mind that you have been dealing with 2 different councils - the most important thing now is to get the help you need; you can complain about the previous one when you have the time?

    Hugs.

A good point from J'sOH, also it sounds as if it's not just the Social Workers but also the Health Visitors in this new area who are not delivering what's promised or required.

Concentrate on what's happening (or not) HERE and what you want done to resolve it.

Out of interest, have YOU had a Carer's Assessment for YOUR needs as a carer for your children and grandchildren?

Well its taken me the best part of 2 and a half hours to write my letter. Now I need to see if it makes any sense. And try and get the right emphasis on things.!! I am considering emailing it to my Parents to have a read and see if they agree. Get someone elses opinion.! Its 5 pages long!! oops.

Yeah forward it on to your parents, always helps someone else proof reading it, they may spot something you didn't or be able to phrase it better. Good Luck :)

Emailed my letter to my parents. Just waiting for them to read it. Probably got time to have a cup of tea, or maybe answer a survey or two!!
Its been one of the hardest letters that I have been able to write, and although its 5 pages long I did try to only give a brief outline of how we arrived at where we are. Then I pointed out the sections I believe that SS have failed us.
Sorry to all social workers on here. I know that half the time your hands are tied and you all have masses of work loads. I dont believe everyone is as useless as the ones I have at the moment!.I just think I have not had the best of luck in that department.!

It's not just that (and I speak as a non-social worker here), it's also that as long as someone IS coping then there is always someone more urgently in need of help. And you have coped, tremendously well, for far too long. Then when you start saying "I can't cope", they look back and think "Well, things can't be as bad as all that ..."

Mum just rang me, she said that my letter is comprehensive and well laid out. And she has printed it off for me (as my printer is not playing the game at the moment!). So I will collect it tomorrow when I go to get the rest of my prescription from the chemist. My parents just live across the road from the chemist.
All I need now is the correct address to send it too. Not sure if the Social Services department is South Northamptonshire or Northamptonshire. Must check with the ladies tomorrow morning.
I feel exhausted and my arm is protesting that it has had to type for so long!.

Realised mid afternoon that we should have had a visit from the Homestart this afternoon. But they got my name wrong, apparantly the woman turned up and asked for somebody completely different, so the twins sent her away again!! Oops. I forgot to ring them and tell them that they had written my name down completely wrongly!! So much going on in my mind. Just not on the ball anymore.
Another I must try harder there then too!!!

How frustrating! On the one hand, well done to the twins for not letting an apparently random stranger into the house! On the other, why not give you a shout and ask if you were expecting anyone?
