Yes, I think we can fit a tenth virgin in :)

You can do this any way you like. :)

While people do set themselves targets, since I have absolutely no idea how much I might save, nor how many different windows of opportunity might (or might not) come up I've opted, as do most people, just to keep track of things and post any I'm particularly pleased with and my running total.

Now, if only I can put off delivery of my free gas cooker to July I'll be £392 to the good just like that :D

Handy bit of pin money that! :T I think that would take some topping!!!!!

I think that mine is going to be more of a virtual pin money as savings are quickly absorbed to help decrease the overdraft! :T

Yeah, well, cooker aside I'm going to be struggling to make much else in the way of PMS. I don't get magazines with coupons, don't shop at Tescos or Boots, have to whizz round Asda as fast as I can (which leaves little time for a good browse) so I don't make my kind neighbour, who gives me a lift, waiting for me.

    I'll find ways though :)

Try getting some freebies. This would up you pin money! Got quite a few samples, of things that I use, over the last month while trying the great freebie hunt! Also got about £10 of vouchers sent when I requested them on line.

Some like to set a goal to aim for and focus on (which helps to motivate you if you become discouraged).

Some are only able to do Virtual because they are already stretched to the limit financially.

One of the ways I'm able to squirrel away pin money ... I go to the shops with my shopping list and I have on my list 1lb mince (for example) and I have budgeted X amount for that item .... if I locate it in the supermarket on the reduced counter, I buy it. The difference between the budgeted amount and the reduced price then gets put into the PMS jar. All those little savings soon add up. If the check out assistant then allows me to put through some coupons .. then I've made a double saving and the coupon value then gets put into the pms jar too.

I use vouchers from all over the place (magazines, promotions through the door, websites) to save on my shopping. I then put the money i have saved on to my christmas savings card so i can get a load of treats in at christmas. In addition i also round up the cost of my shopping and put that amount on the card e.g if shopping comes to 35.25 i put 75p on card. Me and my partner do alternative shopping weeks so we dont know how much each of us puts on the card so its a nice suprise at christmas. If you save over a certain amount Asda also top up your saving card.
I can remember when i was young my mam used to save like this too with savings stamps. She will be proud of me.
