I think I'll join in as well and be the 15th virgin.

Its going to be a bit of a strange Month for me though, we're going to stay at my Mum's for a couple of weeks and when we come back MIL is going to be in hospital for at least a week - so family life is going to be pretty disrupted!

However, I am due a cheque from greasy palm and should be able to make a claim on my rpoints this month so I think I'll have a budget of £250 and set a target of £70 PMS

This must be at least my 3rd month on this challenge - does that mean I'm no longer a virgin????

Did food shopping today and spent £31. Not long ago I would have spent nearer £100

Nope. I'm sorry. But there's no such thing as "nearly a virgin". :)

You either are or you aren't. So I'm told. He sez. Innocently.

But good grief!! What a great reduction in your bill! I'm impressed :)

    Honest :)

My July pin money challenge will start tomorrow ... and it may not be virtual any more as those very nice people paid me real, proper money last week ...

Any pin money savings will still, unfortunately, go towards the debts. For now.

My bogoffs and special offers came to £2.19. But as I was only 95p below budget, they kind of got eaten up. So I'm going to make them virtual savings again, until I really get into the swing of things.

Being a virgin I have a couple of questions about what I can include in pin money:

If I buy superstore own brand instead of branded I would usually buy can I include the difference?

Made effort and walked to Heron freezer centre to buy yoghurts, bread and milk, can I include these savings; eg Weight Watchers 4 pack yoghurt, Heron price 39p, Tesco price £1.29?

Assuming I can include these type savings plus bogofs, multibuys and reduced items, savings so far £11.74 (virtual). :j

Plus cheeky question about sofa (see previous post). May be best bargain buy ever! For a cost of £38.97 we have very comfortable 3-seater, 2-seater and chair, due to extensive efforts now clean and looks good too. Can I count the difference between cost of this and Ikea 3 seater was going to have to buy on Ikea card (Ektorp @ £345 + £60 delivery) or equivalent new in similar style from DFS (£1284 for Sherwood from website). Would really boost my pin money total :D

    Dear virgin...

    Yes. Yes. Yes. :)

Erm, dunno, but then - why not? You've made an effort and you've made a saving. I'd be inclined though to count it as a saving against the sofa set you genuinley would have bought...

..but maybe it should go in a separate MSE Savings Account (real or virtual) since pin money was originally meant to be savings out of the housekeeping allowance...

..Queenie will be along in a minute or two to clear this up I'm sure :)
