And I put other cash in the pot from BOGOFS from during the week

Used to do this with the ex and we had £100 each when we split!!

Don't I just love Tescos! Used the first of my £6 off £30 shop vouchers today and with other £2.55 of vouchers (including 70p worth that was on the pledge) I added another £8.55 to my PIN bringing it up to £24.03 so far this month :j :j
To think when I started this I hoped I might manage a pound or two a week! :D

Final PIN money total for this month £44.80 :T

Still managed to go over my grocery budget though  but at least Im still saving loads compared to pre MSE.

Only managed £1.50 in vouchers off a £23 spend. Must have picked the wrong young lad. And 50p of that was for a product I bought. And £1.25 in bogof.

And £5 ish in Asda with BOGOF and a LV not that she had a clue what it was and what to with it.

Not sure of the grand total.

    Yours

My hoover went on the blink at the end of last month so my challenge was to save enough up to buy myself a new vaccum cleaner. I'd decided on a dyson and saw it at it's lowest price in ASDAs (of all places!) for £164.97.

After a few days into the month my carpets looked filthy so i couldn;t wait. I popped to Asdas with my coupons and a gift card i had. Got my £164.97 dyson and handed over my coupons (£49.65). Then handed over my gift card** (£102) and paid a grand total of £13.32!! (of course i paid on my cashback credit card :D ). My carpets look lovely and clean now.

**Before i saw this thread what i'd do is get my shopping in Asda and hand over my coupons, say the cashier took £15 in coupons then afer i'd paid i'd go to customer services and ask them to put £15 onto my gift card. Therefore my weekly shop had cost me the same but i had £15 on a gift card to spend on treats or extras if the kids needed some clothes. I've been doing this for ages. After i'd used up my £102 off my gift card i thought i;d spend the rest of the month trying to build up my gift card again. Then it dawned on me... WHY ON EARTH WAS I PUTTING IT ON AN ASDA GIFTCARD? Surely it'd make more sense to put the £15 to one side and then i could spend the money i saved in ANY shop i wanted. How thick have i been! Anyway I'm now putting all the cash saved in a little pot. Can't wait until the end fo the month to see if I've saved enough!

Bought dh the new harry potter book for christmas yesterday while it was on offer at tesco so saved around £7 there, a t shirt in the half price sale and a pair of sunglasses for ds that he wanted with £2 off ready for his holidays. Also bought a remote for the tv (old one is no good) saw it in 99p shop so saved another £6 from the price in tesco. I went in the local market the other day and was searching for reduced veg as they were closing- another £1. Asked the price on a loaf of bread but she would not reduce it so I walked away!

Really pleased that my vpm is ....drum roll please....... £169.20!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I cannot beleave it but I know that this is a high one due to curtains etc earlier in the month that were one offs.

Need to keep this going and do a budget as I would like to afford the garden sorting which will be expendsive as it is paving and paths next.
The best bargains are priceless!!!!!!!!!! :T :T :T

Just want to wrap things up for July:

"Cashed in" £7.75 worth of Boots Advantage Boots - all items were bogof, so I was able to add £15 to my vPMS. Also used £3.50 worth of coupons on the weekly grocery shop and used approx £1s worth of free coffee and honey. Total vPMS for July is therefore: £41.00.
    aPMS = £76.12.

    End of July report....

    Vouchers/Bogof/Offers/Reduced - £54.35
    Change Jar - £20.24
Ebay sales (after fees) - £49.36

    Total Pin - £123.95
    (Estimated at £35, hahahaha!!)

    Total Shopping - £238.48
    (Estimated at £200.00, oopsie daisies!)

Did far better than expected on the pin money, but, I did realise throughout the month that I was going to do well and have "treated" ourselves because I knew I could, whereas before when I wasn't keeping track of what I was saving there were no treats because I didn't think we could afford it.

Well I've completed my spreadsheet for July and overall I'm quite pleased

Pin money total £149.03 I was aiming for £50.

    But unfortunately...

I gave myself a budget of £250 and overspent by £52.49

It has been an unusual Month though what with going on holiday, MIL in hospital and then OH hurt his foot causing a need for an emergency new pair of shoes.

I enjoyed the challenge, so onwards to August.
