Pay for Mystery Shopping Income has just gone through into my bank a/c, and I'm really, really pleased that this has taken me OVER MY TARGET aPMS of £75 by £1.12!!!!! I've made it!!!!
  • Total PIN money saved this money so far £34.80

I received some free freebies through the post this morning, eye cream to sell on Ebay from a magazine subscription which has already paid for itself. A free book from who knows where (must of been my mum! )
Also received £25 into paypal from RPoints.

However got a letter from Childrens Tax credits saying that I have been overpaid £450+  Wanted to cry :wall: One step froward 10 back.

OUCH!! Offer to pay it back at a quid a month?

Using my pre MSE figures for food and utilities etc as a basis for reckoning my finances I was recently able to show the er, nice people at DFS, that my disposable income availlable for entertainment was just £2.38 per week which isn't quite enough for one pint in my local pub!

I'm doing better now but I'm saving for replacement washing machine and TD, both over twenty years old, come the day they finally quit. I've done a fair bit of work on them over the years but the next time the main bearing goes on the washer will be the last beacuse the bearing housing is not very good now and won't take another bashing about.

Still, twenty years and counting... they don't exactly owe me anything. :)

Anyway, to get back to the point - negotiate the payback terms. I'm sure there are plenty of people who could help you with this on the benefits board. LOTS of good advice available there. :)

  • Thanks Squeaky.

You won't believe it but the washing machine has stopped mid cycle, is half full with water and will not start again. I have tried switching on and off but it will not start again. The door won't open either.

I might go back to bed.

Ok... to empty your washing machine so that you can get your washing out...

First find a washing up bowl or a reasonable sized casserole dish.

Ease the washer away from the wall or out from the counter (if you need to) so that you can reach the grey outlet hose.

Set the casserole dish onto a couple of towels by the washing machine - and pull the soap drawer open.

Now unhook the grey outlet hose and slowly lower the open end into your bowl. Water will start draining out. When the bowl is fairly full (NOT brim full) hook the end of the outlet hose into the soap drawer - it's easier than putting it back into the proper drain thingy.

    Empty the bowl.

Repeat as necessary until no more water comes out.

With a bit of luck you might be able to open the door now.

Edit: Forgot to tell you to make sure that you turn the timer to one of the positions at the end of a program cycle. You can't get the door open even when actually empty if the machine thinks it's still "busy"

What I'll do is COPY the thread with other posts deleted so that the thread will still start with Queenie's post in her own name. She put a lot of work into it and just because she isn't on line right now doesn't mean that she should lose the credit she deserves for starting such a good series of threads.

Traditionally Queenie starts the new month on or about the 25th so that's when I'll do it if she hasn't managed to get back with us, and I'll start the Grocery Challenge off on the 28th as per last time.

This weekend I managed to add the grand total of 66p to my pin money savings, and that was an offer on chocolate bars. Still, every little helps, I suppose.
