SHEZ - WHERE ARE YOU? Got my Pride and Prejudice DVD this morning, so having a day of it - and ive just got to the bit where Colin (Mr Darcy) has dived into the lake!!!!0

Hi again
OOOOHERRRR Colin with a wet shirt on.:D
PENPIN Sounds like what happens to you was a serious untoward incident. The NHS takes these very seriously. It needs to be investigated so it doesn't happen again. I'm really worried this nurse is a specialist, either she got it wrong or pathology. Poor you, no wonder you feel c**p. I would also recommend PALS to help you make a complaint. If you phone your hospital switchboard, they will be able to put you through.
Off to do 6 months worth of filing:eek:

Afternoon all!
PENPIN - I think you should complain to prevent it happening again, either to you or someone else. It still makes me really angry when I think about them making such a serious mistake. By the way, my WM drawer used to go all manky when I used conditioner, as well; I just use vinegar now and it stays completely clean.
CATOWEN - I've got P & P recorded but haven't got round to watching it. That is the very best moment of the film. He is SO gorgeous, isn't he?
SCUZZ - well done on applying for that job. I really hope you get it and wish you lots of luck.
HILSTEP - glad your Mum will be home soon. It will take a while after the op but she'll soon be back to her usual self. (((Hugs))) to her - and you, because it's been a worrying time for you.
POOKY - thanks for the link to the sewing pattern.
Well, I finally managed - after about three hours on the phone, fax and PC, to chase up all DH's unpaid invoices; unfortunately, they won't get paid till next Friday now due to the 'payment run'. I don't believe that a company can't raise a cheque or something. Anyway, as I'll be angrier about it by Monday, I might put a rocket up a few a***s then!
I did a very low-spend food shop today because I checked the freezer, fridge and store-cupboard and didn't need much. The best thing about it - apart from the fact that it was so much cheaper than usual - was that it was a lot easier to unload from the car and pack away. I resisted the charity shop urge but did go into Sainsbury's briefly because, the other day I picked up one of their spiral bound A5 index notebooks; it was only £1.29 and has little dividers in it. I'm using that one to record family events, birthday present list, Christmas present list, and loads of other family stuff. I bought another one today for recipes and they also had A4 sizes as well, so I bought one of those for £1.79. They're a lime green colour and made from recycled paper. Anyway, I think they're very good value and really useful. I might buy a couple more next week.
Anyway, I have had my lunch - just toasted HM bread and jam - and I'm going to sit down on the sofa for an hour and read my new 'Let's Knit' magazine. My Mum discovered it the other day and, bless her, sent me £5 so I could buy the issue that came out today. It costs £4.99 and she really wanted me to buy it and didn't think my OS ways would let me! Anyway, I'm going to take out a yearly subscription of it for a Mother's Day present to thank her for being so thoughtful.
Off to have a [STRIKE]doze[/STRIKE] read of my magazine!
See ya.

Hiya all
sorry not read back yet, having a bit of a busy day here.
boys off to there dads later so decided to make a dent in my house clean, my aim is to prevent having to pay a huge amount on march out of my house for cleaning, (apart from oven!) never had problems on a march out yet but then before there has always been 2 of us, this time its just me.
ive got the good old stardrops and cloths out and some of the rooms in my house are super gleaming, sadly it didnt work for the biro ds2 put all the way up the stairs so think thats a paint job for next thursday evening.
by sunday i aim to have done the house apart from behind the bigger bits of furniture i cannot move so wont be around much at all, saves the boredom and the quiteness of being on my own and without the boys, was going to treat myself to a take away tonight but that wouldnt be very os of me
hugs to all who need them, hope your having a good day

Well the bathroom should now consider itself well on the way to being blitzed: windows washed, sills wiped, walls wiped, took an hour to scrub the loo (yuk, the gunk on the drainage pipe going into the wall!) and resorted to a pumice stone on the limescale, sink sparkly. The shower was hard work - I ended up using Cillit Bang on the stains on the tray. Still not perfect around the plughole, but it's getting there - next time I'll clear it.
Just got to scrub the outside shower glass with vinegar, and the floor (will do this on hands and knees and scrubbing-brush rather than with a mop because it needs it - lot of old dried paint splatters to be prised off with a knife), and it's done. Then I have to start on the kitchen as DH didn't clear up last night like he was supposed to.
Then I'm going to sit down and make up my own cleaning sprays based on what I've copied from the cleaning threads, having used most of my commercial cleaners now. I've also drawn up a month-by-month step-by-step deep clean for my house folder. If I can get into the habit of doing that monthly and a weekly wipe, it hopefully won't ever get into this state again. Going to sort out tray specifically for the bathroom so I don't mix up gloves and scourers etc.
At some point I was going to think about breakfast but as it's edging towards dinnertime I don't think I'll bother!0 -
Good Afternoon All
Cant believe this weather - Im home now & just put the heating on!
dlb - you will have to pay ebay buyers to take your DS away (if that woyuld be the case), not them pay you! :rotfl:
Had a huge KFC for lunch today. Sort of a farewell lunch with the girls at work, for the manager. Im stuffed. Luckily I dont have to worry about fetching the kids from school (their dad does that every friday) so I may slump back into bed. Having 3 sleepless nights doesn't help, and especially the Police helicopter was out in force last night hovering over our area around mid-night, for about 10mins! Im shattered!
PP - agree with what everyone is saying ref your treatment! Im no medical expert, but something doesnt seem right. Hope you get it sorted love!
Right off to put the kettle on!
Take care

*sigh*
On a good note, got a call from the woman that runs the community allotment about ordering seed potatoes for the spring; she's going to a wholesaler............. but my DH didn't get the prices or if anyone is willing to share a bag, as they only come in 3KG or 5KG bags.........
The bad news is that it looks like the boiler is going to be the best part of £100 to fix, it needs a new condensing tray £48 + VAT + labour.......0 -
Good afternoon everyone,
PP - is there anyway, when you go to the hospital you can ask to see the same consultant each time (or maybe one of a couple, so there is some consitancy)? I know in our clinic, because they were seeing so many different people at the same time, it is 'pick and mix' with who you would see, so i would ask the nurses who sorted things out before you got to see the doctor which consultants were on, and pick, hopefully, my normal one. If he wasnt available, i would try and pick one who i knew would know more about my situation. I would def complain about the mix up, when your health is like yours, you need things to be extra checked. I hope things will be ok ((HUGS)).
Hillstep - so glad your mum has had her tube, and should be home today, hope she will be ok xx
Nix - Congratulations to you and your partner xx
scuzz - fingers crossed for the new job!!!
Well, ive had a lovely day today - looked after the LO i havnt had since before Christmas, and he was a little treasure - its amazing how much they change in such a short period of time. Hes been laughing and chatting to me - and he slept for an hour this morning, then 2 hours this afternoon - hense the P & P marathon!! I have read the book, and saw the Kiera Knightly version (which i was a bit disappointed with) and i had heard lots of people (including the Bridget Jones books) rave about the BBC version, so when i found a copy of the full series for £7.99, i snapped it up. It arrived today, and i am not dissapointed in this one, Colin def smoulders as Mr Darcy, and the actress who plays Elizabeth is very believable. The only complaint is i didnt think the actress who plays Jane was prettier than Elizabeth, as she is meant to be. I still have half an hour left to watch, which i will do later when my 2 are out at their youth club tonight.
Thinking of dreams, ive not had a 'saucy' one for a while, but the last one i had was with Simon Cowell!!!!!
Anyway, better get going, have stew and dumplings in the SC, so dinner is all sorted, but i do need to hang the washing up from the WM so thats my next job.
Hope everyone has a lovely evening, ((HUGS)) to anyone who needs one xxx
Take care xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx0 -
Afternoon all
I've recovered from my dream now, hubby thought is was so funny.
Pork chop & HM Wedges & mushrooms for hubby for tea & I've had a bar of chocolate. I got so fed up of having just the top row of a bar of chocolat & the finding the lodger had eaten the rest of it, so this time I ate the whole damn bar all to myself & now I feel sick, lol.
My new copy of Prima arrived today so I'll read that this evening after I've fed hubby.
Hope everyone has a good evening
Hugs Hester

Unfortunately the 8 specialists are all needed for their expertise in different fields. They are spread between 3 hospitals, but mainly at Kings. Its all very confusing and complex.
The warfarin clinic is at a local hospital and the INR is tested via a special machine with a pin !!!!! in my finger (like diabetes) and the machine gives a reading immediately-so saves me having a full blood test each time.
I am definately going to make a formal complaint next week and may consult my friend who is a solicitor for advice, as I would not want someone else to go through the same thing.
Thanks for all the back up.
PP
