well as I imagine there is zero chance of getting a rebate on your rent (lol) then maybe it would be a valid excuse

I'd like to think that they'd have some reservations about actually kicking you out knowing that you're in credit with you rent, but normally common sense and these sorts of legal proceedings don't go hand in hand, lol. Do you think your mum will give you some back? I truly hope so BM xx

    Good luck today xxx

Your not being evicted for rent arrears, so I doubt that has a bearing. No harm in trying, though I think it would mean going to court and pleading your case.

Just seen on another thread that 3 suitable houses are on this week's list. Just hope that one is suitable and the MP will sort it for you.

LOL, silvercar beat me to it as I posted on the wrong thread in my excitement. :o

There are 5 3 bedroom properties on the list this week but we are allowed to choose 3 only - and we are off tonight to have a drive around and check that they are all OK (not near water or train lines for example) and then will speak to the MP and see if the council are going to do what they promised they would do and give us these points. 2 of them are in one road where there was a drug shooting last year though, not sure if that rules 2 of them out.

Surely we must get SOMETHING before being evicted! Please keep everything crossed for us. I will be back tonight or tomorrow morning to let you know it went with the MP.

OH MY GOD. I am being sad enough to look on RightMove to see if I can see some ex coucnil houses so I can see what they might look like inside. I have doe nothing this afternoon, the house is a tip!! :o

Good evening everyone, I have to confess I am in a good mood tonight and I laughed wen I read about the boxes comment. i think that is the first time anyone suggested that since last November, LOL!!

Spent over 3 hours driving around tonight, some we was not able to see, need to speak to HA tomorrow about the others to see if they will give me the numbers, the one we peeked in has a dodgy fire - I am concerned Ryan will try lighting things so would prefer the enclosed fires but will speak to them to see if they will let us remove it at our own cost. You don't ask you do not get. We can apply for 3 and they will choose the one they think is best for us and we cannot then refuse that one really else it'll be eviction.

We have seen one that is perfect, in a quiet location, decent house, decent garden, nothing that Ryan can get in danger with. However, next Thursday is a long way away. The MP had not read our notes :( so gave him all the info there and then and he is calling the Council tomorrow and asking about our points. However, he picked up rightaway that them offering us the chance to stay here for a few weeks meant that the council through a hostel unsuitable for us and ha has made notes on this.

As I say, Thursday is a long way away yet so not counting my chickens. The date has arrived for eviction, if we get this property then we will not apply for a stay - we can do so up to 3 days before the baiiff is due - if we do not get it then we will get off to the bailiff on Monday week to apply for the stay. Right now I feel :):):):) The worst that can happen is that they say no points - we are ready for the hostel so we will just go there instead. As I said to my husband, if we do not get it then it is not meant to be and next time we apply we probably will get it. Everything for a reason. :)
  • How fantastic that you remain so positive.
But I have to say, no, no, no, no!! You will NOT miss the end of Lost! You will see it even if I have to buy you the box set! If I can't figure out DVD recorder before you lose Sky, I'll save episodes for you on Sky+ until I can get it sorted.
I understand how important these things are :D
