    Hi BM

Dear oh dear, continue with your intention to email your MP, the problem with that, one never knows where the email ends up, this maybe a better option, look here, telephone your MP today at the HOC, you may not get him directly, but you will get his secretary, who will pass your message on.

    Telephoning maybe a quicker option.

    Good luck

I think out of everything that has happened along the way this is the hardest thing that I have had to deal with. While I want to kick some a!se over this letter I am petrified that if I cause too many waves they will have me down as a troublemaker and refuse to help us. I would complain to higher bodies now but the fear that they will then not help us any longer is the one thing that is putting me off.

I am not letting them off the hook but I am still wrestling over the one best thing to do - the letter is 2 weeks old that they forwarded onto me. I wonder if they know I am getting all copies of all of the correspondance from them to him as well.

Stay calm and stick to the facts - be brief and to the point.

I know it's difficult when everything is so personal, but this is just one battle and you have to win the war ;)

Quite often we lose because we're mad - don't get mad, get even :D

    Morning everyong.

Well, I did as you all told me and took the plunge and I have just sent the letter to the MP to ask him what is going on and that we will be coming to see him on Thurdday. I have also pointed out numerous other things we have been told in the past that would warrant the council having no obligation to help us. I have asked if it is acceptable that they lie to him and that also he should request our file where he can find the homeless application form filled in but the date crossed out. I have said I want answers!! I did think I was being a bit full on why why should he be told things about me that I can prove are untrue.

We do not seem to have any election on Thursday in the area, we have not had any cards, he was supposed to do Friday but this changed to thursday - the councillor I spoke to a few weeks ago told me this. I think the other parties don't bother beause the Cons have such a stronghold in this area, LOL!!

So, I've kicked up the sand, now I have to wait to see what comes out the other side of it.

I have told him that I will be bringing paperwork with me for the cats having been rehomed and also for the storage because this proves that we are not sitting around waiting to go into permanant accomodation and that we know the hostel is inevitable (well, I think anyway, why pay these things if we were so sure we was not going need it!!).

The housing peeople have just called - quite a nice lady - because she is doing the wage slips we put in to see if we are eligable for an extra 10 points (I guess).

So, now I have to go and pack, I need to do an hours packing - the thought suddenly occured to me that any time now the bailiff is going to send a note or call round and I need to be ready for this, it helps me deal with everything better if I know that everything I can pack is packed (if you know what I mean). So I am off for the rest of today but will try and pop in tonight.

Thank you all so much again for helping me get my head around all of these things, my husband tends to nag me over it and because I have to deal with the letters and stuff it is hard to decide what to do for the best. My husband thinks more with his head and will wade straight in - but this is not always for the best.

    Thanks again. x

Edit t add: In the time it took me to write this confirmation has come in for me to see him Thursday.

Electoral wards in Hertfordshire elect 2 or 3 councillors depending on their size. Councillors are elected for a term of 4 years. One year in 4 you vote for the county council, the remaining 3 years you elect one of your local councillors. If you live in a ward that elects 2 councillors rather than 3, you have one year when you don't vote, which is when the larger wards are voting for their 3rd councillor. This is that year.

Bet you have more things on your mind than understanding that! Hope it makes sense.

It sort of explains why the MP will be in the area, he is presumably helping out the councillors in canvassing in the local elections so it is a good time to be seen in the area doing a surgery.

The MP has his surgery this week - he does about 10 or 12 a month in different places around the area and you just turn up, we went to a different place last time but we figured any one will do to get this sorted. he was voted in 2005 so I guess that is why nothing is going on around here.

Further on from the *positives and good news* I posted at the weekend with my winnings and stuff I have had an electric bill in today and we are £300 in credit now :) So that is some more money to come back when we finally move and that is the price of a new cooker.

BM- if i were you i'd give the homless office a call and tell them very politely that the MP has forwarded the information they sent him and that you're not too impressed with the facts being twisted and them saying you've said things you haven't actually said. I would tell them in no uncertain terms that if this continues you will have to bring along an impartial witness to the next meeting with them.

I'm having a bit of trouble logging on at the moment, so if i don't log in before thursday good luck with the MP xx

    Hi Blue,

I've got a cooker in my garage that I took out of my old house when I moved. We were saving it for my husband's cousin who then decided to buy a built in one. If I can get an electrician to check that it is ok after standing in the garage you're quite welcome to it.

It is an electric slot in model, about 10-15 years old. And because I'm in to ping cuisine the main oven has never been used (actually I used the little top oven grill - I'm not quite that bad).

May also have a fridge freezer in the next month or so.
