  • BM - I'm re reading this thread as it really interests me on more than just a humanitarian level,.

I have only read the first page and need to go to bed ( will also answer your pm tomorrow x)

With regard to transport if the children's school is over 3 miles. - the LEA do not ordinary pay for transport for children under senior school age.. and then it would be in the form of a bus pass.. and normally do not really fret that much about years 7 & 8 being moved to closer school if that is viable.

For youngsters they MAY provide transport for a child with special needs... but you would have to check first, and this is the urgh part... even though the children would be attending the same school they might only provide transport for your son..

This may have been covered further into the thread but on reading about your mum living with someone in L/A tenancy... she WILL NOT be on the tenancy agreement as she already has a property. Even though she has issued you with a S21 and family stuff might not be the best at the moment, I would be, if you can, seeing if there is anything amiss, especially in light of her MH probs.. I know!! even more to add to your long long list... its a bit of a big gift to give to a partner isn't it.?

(Wait till I read more tomorrow and I will prob have to edit this with... next time I will read it all!)

    Good morning everyone.

Well, I come with sad news..... my PC has died..... while I mourn and get on with the usual stuff - ironing, cleaning and looking after the kids..... LOL, I cannot get onto MSE!! I have wasted an entire morning trying to sort the damn thing out and get it fixed but I *might* *have* *to* *wait* *until* *TOMORROW*

I called the 'tech guys' at PC world who gloated when he told me 'should have done a back up disc when it prompted you' and that I could get them now and 'only pay £37.50 including post and packing and please allow 28 days for delivery'.... I said I did not have 28 days so he told me well, you can visit any PC World and buy a new copy of windows for £180. I asked why the discs were not provided with a new machine and then he started going on about back up discs and I had enough and put the phone down saying 'whatever'. How rude. LOL!! Gave me a smile as I never usually do anything like that but that is taking the p!ss. To sell me a machine and keep the discs that are mine as they have my machine details and they want me to pay for them again! Whatever!! That has to be the biggest money spinner going!

Anyone got a copy of Windows XP Home Edition...... LOL!! Seriously, it should be fixed in the next few days.

Thanks Gina, I am not sure what is going on with my mother still, not even asking her at the moment as once we are out I can find the real reason. Something else might be occuring but I am not sure. I have found she is keeping a secret from us - more so mum asked my sister 'BM & Hubby do not know do they' and my sister said 'no'. Which kind of p!ssed me off that she is keeping this secret from us but is happy to share with anyone else who are not even in the family. Oh, and of course we know, LOL, my sister could not keep a secret if her life depended on it!! However, something silly but makes things perfectly clear.

If you also want to know what the 'secret' is then please PM me and I will share with you, don't forget the PC is broken so it might be a few days before I can tell you..... Let's just say that perfect is not so perfect after all and my mother always takes the sides of her own childrens partners for some bizarre reason....... and if you have been following the thread then you might just get an inkling of what that means...... Hmmmmmmm......

Some of this is true, some is not the case - at least not in Hertfordshire.

The obligation to provide transport to school rests with the local authority if the nearest available school is over 3 miles for children over the age of 8 and over 2 miles for children under 8.

You can see the (new) hertfordshire LEA transport policy on their website.

Herts. can and do provide young children with transport. They run coaches (with CRB checked drivers and escorts), they also provide taxi service (again with drivers and escorts) if that is more appropriate/ cost efficient.

They won't provide transport to those who are not of complusary school age and they are unlikely to provide sibling transport unless they justify it on merit. They do offer "grace and favour" places where there are room on coaches for extra children.

    Hi SC,

I just wanted to say that I have called them directly asking what the score is on the travel is in temporary accomodation and I am waiting for them to call me back.....

I read somewhere a few weeks back that transport will be funded for children in temporary accomodation but I am damned if I can find it again.

While here, do you know what form I need to apply for a 'stay'? I have found N245 Application for a suspention of a warrant http://www.hmcourts-service.gov.uk/courtfinder/forms/n245_0204.pdf but that is for 'if you cannot pay' and we do not owe any money so cannt actually fill in this form. Council has told me apply for a 'stay' but I cannot find anything about this anywhere.

    Any ideas??

    Hi Christabell,

Yes, kind of, back in January he was diagnosed with Oppositional Dispute Order (which is instead of ADHD as he is too young for that diagnosis and we hae totry behaviour therapy with him), also with him being on the Autistic Spectrum, now waiting for CAMHS and Paediatricians to find our where he is on the spectrum or if he just has Autistic Spectrum Disorder. Another apppointment this Thursday for the paediatrician - I lose track of who we have seen and for what now, LOL!!

First time I have posted on your Thread.)))))))))))))))HUGS)))))))))))))))))))))00
I think you will need to contact the court about the staying of the warrant. Can I ask what grounds has posseison been granted.
If you ring the court and dont be afraid to do this, they are usually very very helpful they will explain which form you need and the fee you will have to pay. You can claim exemption of the fee if you are on a low income or in receipt of IS or JSA.

    Good Luck:j
I hope your Mother has many a sleepless night for her behaviour toward you and the children:eek:

If she is having difficulty selling the property and in the current climate that will surely remain so why the hell doesnt she just let you rent it until the LHA house you. How a Mother could take her child and grandchildren to court to make them homeless for a house she cannot sell stuns me beyond belief:eek:
:j I have a persecution complex. Everytime I pass a shoe shop they persecute me till I buy them:j

Thanks Penguin, jus replied. Very helpful, thank you :)

Gillian: Yes, I know. There are certain procedures we have to follow, if we stay here until it sells and then go to the council we have made ourselves intentionally homeless. We have to be removed by a court order or bailiff to be considered for homeless accomodation if we leave before then they have NO obligation to help us. She asked us to leave in November and we are still here. If she sells and we are still here then we cannot leave, while we are here she cannot sell. The council make sure they tell us all the time that we are not to leave until forceably removed!! I am happy to apply for the stay as it gives us more time for something to become available.

Our journey will soon be over, the things we learn along the way can be of more use to others in the future.
