Thanks, I never know what to say to him and usually tell him not to pull too hard - it was red the other day, LOL, but he is fasinated. The problem we have is that he does not understand about lots of things due to his AS - such as the CS area in Tesco is not the place to pull your trousers and pants down and say you are having a wee.
I did think that I did not want to make him feel dirty about it but it was knowing how to use the right phrase to stop him showing people. Ah, I guess I have a lifetime of this to come!!

Anything in the list yesterday BM? And has the MP that was helping you got back from his holiday yet? Hopefully when he realises the homless office have been as much help as a chocolate teapot, he'll put some pressure on.
Hope you're all well xx0 -
No Hol, nothing I am afraid. I am leaving it as for now with the council and when there is something available will chase up getting the points with them and with the MP. They were only going to give us the points for one month anyway so this *might* be a blessing. We will be in the house for another 3 or 4 lists so something might come up after the month and then we would not have had enough points.
In the meantime I am mailing the MP and will explain to him what is happening and will tell him that should anything come up we will let him know and then maybe he can also chase up these so called 'promised points' and then we might be in with a fighting chance.
Yes, we are all well thanks but I seem busy but nothing ever seems to get done - if you know what I mean. Getting as much 'ready' as we can. off to get a new aquarium for the fish as they have got to come out of the pond either way. Hubby has been going on for years about a marine aquariam but we have found one that starts as a 'normal' aquarium and then you put this adaption pack thing in and changes it to a marine aquarium for £50 (a bit cheaper on eBay). He is happy about this and stops going on about it as they are usually £500-£1000 upwards and are difficult to maintain, this set is apparently easy so that will do for now. That is his (early) Father day pressie sorted then
Just trying to get a new buggy for Ryan too, I do need one for emergencies but am rather attached to my Phil & Teds but it is daft to keep it when it is worth so much money when I do not actually *need* it. So that is on the cards, it is just going to have to disappear or something but the money it sells for will pay for the new buggy & aquarium.
Also, have found a new TP climbing frame in the paper for £40 with a few extra bits more than ours has got. Have left them a message so fingers crossed and it will be dsmantled, will get that, store it in the garage and then list ours on eBay to be dismantled by buyer and get it listed a few weeks before we have to leave, LOL!! That saves us doing it and they usally sell for around £80 on eBay. Fingers crossed and all that!!
Oh, and also decided that *should* the house sell and we have to move our large fridge and chest freezer then will ask mum if she can flog them with the house and give us the extra cash to get some more 2nd hand ones. Saves us storage costs as well then!!
I feel quite refreshed and full of life today, I am not sure why, but I feel better but so need to get this house tidy but it just isn't happening. I need to get some stuff out to the garage but it is too cold to go out there and so I've been putting it off. I know I need to sooner or later but it is freezing outside. Roll on the nice weather, can't be too far off now.
I've just had one of the town councillors call me and give me some contacts to follow up on. So will update on that when I hear anything from them. I have been popping into the local library to keep them informed and she told this lady who was a councillor, she called me and gave me some more info over the ohone and it has gone from there really. So many people trying to help us, maybe this is why it feels OK. She told me to go the local paper as they usually have some weight (they have managed to get loads of people housed) but then the guy I am hiding from will know it is me and that I changed my name and where I am living, it is just not worth the risk really so that is out of the question.
Anyway, nearly time to get DD from school so will sign off for now.

It makes me so angry that the Council are not only making you jump through hoops but are setting fire to them first.
Nice to hear you sounding upbeat - keep smiling and be kind to yourself.

please forgive this long post but i am new here and.....
I live in a 2 bed flat with my fiance and two of my three children (the third, and youngest lives with his dad as i really cant fit three children into one tiny room)
We are being evicted as we have severe rent arrears.
(that and the landlord wants us out so he can do the place up and sell it on, but of course in the grand scheme of things no one cares about that.)
we got into rent arrears because i had to cut my hours at work due to childcare issues.
we have an order for possession that gives our landlord possesion of the flat on the 21st of this month (god thats only in 3 days)
does this mean we have to be out on that date?
will we have the bailiffs at the door on that day?
the court has not yet issued a court bailiff with a warrant to evict us (that i know of)
the council are saying that we have made ourselves homeless on purpose and have given us no other advice.
the times we have been down there the housing officer has been so self righteous and looking down her nose at us. telling us to look for another private rent (which we cannot afford, and have no references for)
and to get housing benefit (which we have, but at £20 a week and our money situ is so messed up atm it doesnt help). and getting housing benefit isnt going to stop the eviction all of a sudden now is it?
She said she was going to send us a letter explaining our choices and what forms we would need from the court, but instead she sent us a letter that detailed everything said in previous meetings and saying that we have purposely done nothing to help ourselves. we are on the council housing list and have been for a year now, to no avail.
Because the council say we have made ourselves intentioanlly homeless, they are refusing to house us, even temporarily.
Shelter are saying that the reasons we got behind on rent mean the council cannot find us intentionally homeless. and that even if they DO find us intentionally homeless, they HAVE to house us for up to 28 days.
which the council denys.
the only homeless action groups in exeter help single people, or couples with no children only.
the CAB are just as useless.
I cannot phone people as i have panic attacks when im on the phone, and my partner suffers from depression (which stems from this situation. he is taking anti depressants, and yes, we have told the council this.)
i am terrified that on monday bailiffs are going to turn up and kick us out. we havent finished packing, have no where to store our stuff, and no where to live.
are social services going to take my children from me?
their dad lives in a nice three bedroom house with his new wife, what chance do i have if he finds out and decides to go for custody??
im sorry for my extreme rant...but im very confused, stressed and in a fit of panic.
so any advice would be greatly appreciated0 -

Blue monkey... Firstly well done for sticking in at it and doing your research, I won't for legal reasons comment on any individual depts but would say..... that it maybe an idea to visit the temp accommodation now and speak with the person who is either managing it or the warden depending on the set up. They will hopefully show you around and run through with you what you can 'really' take... I have worked in accommodation in the past and been dismayed when people have been told to put everything in storage when there are alternatives,... esp when it comes to childrens belongings.... its hard enough for all concerned without the extra stress of entertaining young ones...
I was heartened to hear that your reasons for not going to certain areas were taken on board, and for the person who seemed incredulous at this... >>> no authority just takes things on say so of the client.... there would have been some form of verification.
I didnt read from the start to be honest, only the past 8 pages... but got the general gist...
I am not working, have no children and am seriously thinking of selling my house and buying a park home/caravan which led me to this thread... >>> why I have said that.... for the odd person who wishes to judge others.... I stood by and stand by that no one knows when they could be in a homeless situation... how many times I said 'If I was ill/lost my job.... blahdeblah..... and yep its happened....
Good luck to you and yours....0 -
Thank you Gina. I've been trying to find out where this hostel is but I cannot seem to find out at the moment. Everyone has been in the others around here (since closed and I knew where these were) but not this one..... I will keep trying to find out though
I am sorry about what has happened to you. I wondered if I could make a suggestion through what I have been reading. SOME park homes comes with huge terms attached to them and the vans are so expensive at the moment (around here the same price as a house!!), however, you can 'rent' seasonal spaces on carvan parks and get yourself a large caravan to live in. Much cheaper and easier. If you look on the caravan club website I mentioned a few posts back and search for sites and then above this page choose 'seasonal pitches' it will show you what is available for the rest of the season. You pay a set amount (£1000-£2000 depending on the site and you stay for the summer or the winter, or both if the site is one that is open all year round. If you live in a static on a caravan site (check eBay for examples of these) you'll be able to stay for 10 months of the year so the other 2 you could find somewhere else as the cost of living would be much cheaper (no council tax or electricity costs for example). I hope that helps a little. I am not sure how much money you have but a huge motorhome is always an option and they have the ones with the sides that come out:

Or just a motorhome

It's huge and it has my name written all over it!! (if tey are feeling generous enough t give it away, LOL) The thing about this one is that if you parked it on a seasonal site for 10 months you just have to arrange to get it towed to another nearby site for the other 2 months of the year and then back to your seasonal pitch. You can book the dates of your stay by joining the carvan club for £36 a year and that will secure your other pitch for the 2 months. Again, look on eBay and you'll find people who will tow the vans for a fee (the sites canarrange this too). Oh the other thing, the sites often have gyms and pools so you'll save money there too. That dawned on me the other day as wellI have been reading tooooo much about carvans recently in case you did not notice, LOL.
I have to admit, after looking at all the caravans I soooooooo want one to be able to go away with. But one question..... why are they always brown inside?? When did any caravan designer get an imagination and add a splash of colour????? xx0
