Thanks A, nice to share a smile with everyone :)

Hol, yes, this worries me more than anything - not being able to take anything in. Neither kids (or me come to think of it) can sleep in darkness - when we go on holiday we usually have to leave the bathroom light on and neither will be in the room or in darkness. It's a worry because I know Ryan wakes in the night too and will freak if there is darkness. I guess we could always buy the battery lights to have on and a battery charger.

What about toys? How on earth will I entertain 2 kids through the entire summer holidays if they have no place to play? No TV? DVD's? Cbeebies? Laptop?    Lord how we take these things for granted.

I have too many things to worry about if I am honest, I know I have no choice really but there are little niggling things. Did you have a TV Hol? J, they have told us it will be 'a room', smaller roms are £145 pw up to the larger rooms that are £170 pw - and ours was going to be £145 pw so was obviously a small room!! It will not be a flat or have bedrooms. Hol, what happened with the kicthen and the bathroom - do you just have to wait your turn so if someone else is cooking you wait until they finish? Do the kids all have to run around the kitchen while you cook? Where do you eat then? Do you take it to your room? What about if you want a bath, dothey have a rota or again do you wait your turn? Same with the toilet?

Out if interest, this is what has been built on the site of the hostel that would have been near to us:

So, another day. Called the council to speak to the lady we saw Thurs (on a course) asked if the points had been added - apparently it is 'still with the line manager'. Which is nice, not holding my breath for those points tbh.

I just have a really bad feeling that there was never any intention of extra points and it was just to prolong things for us, I have already emailed MP with details of what was happening (got confirmation, he is away) but if we do not get them we will go and see him in 2 weeks time when he has open surgery so he can find out what is going on, this will be time for the next Freesheet so if either we miss this cycle or if something is available then he is going to want to know why the counci are not doing what they a) told us they would do and b) told him they were trying to do. I just have a really, really bad feeling about this extra points thing now. :(

    Hi BM,

Sorry just skimming through your thread but will read more later.

In the hostel I was in I was fortunate enough to get the top floor which was a one bed flat and I had my tv, dvd and computer in there! However, the others in there in the rooms had all brought in tv's, kettles etc and were provided with a fridge and a microwave. They had the use of a communal kitchen which had 3 cookers, lots of cupboards and a washer/dryer. The people in the rooms took their food back to their room to eat where they had a table and chairs. There was a bathroom or shower room to each floor and only to 2 rooms to each floor. There didn't seem to be anything such as a rota for the use of the bathrooms.

This hostel was owned by Hightown and Praetorian Church Housing Association and used by the council for temporary accomodation - HTH.

Looks like I need to catch up a lot more with you though BM xx

My mission, to be completed by Sunday, is to Sky+ the Lost clippit, hook up DVD recorder and transfer it to DVD to send to you. That way we can make sure that you will be able to play what I send you?!

Thanks Axe, that would be fab. It is daft isn;t it. I am sure there are more things to worry about, LOL :o

That will be great J, thanks. I know you are busy at the moment. Just getting a plan together incase we do not get those points. Will leave it til Thurs, if there is something on the list I'll give them a call and find out what is going on.

Took my cat to the farm today - she is going to love it there once she is settled so that was a huge weight off. The lady will have my others as well while we wait for somewhere - again, another huge weight off my mind.

Nothing else to report really. Same old day!! Catching up on House MD - has anyone else seen it? With Hugh Laurie, but despite the accent I still cannot get round the fact he is really English!! I am addicted, I have been watching the new Series (4) and 2 others, I think 1 and 2, as they are all on different channels.

As for Desperate Housewives, anone else thing something fundermental is going to go wrong with Bree & the baby - like it being that black guys who ws the murderer in the last series...... and as for Carlos, wonder what he has planned for Edie. Wasn't the bit with Lynette doing the Charades hysterical. Ah, how am I going to live without a TV?????? :o

Hi BM- with our hostel, there was a communal kitchen where you got your own cupboard (with a lock) and shared use of cooker and fridge. There were a few tables in the kitchen area. There was also a separate shared laundry room (you had to buy tokens from the reception and could only use the machines between certain hours). There was a shared 'living room' with a TV. The only thing in our 'room' were beds, drawers, wardrobe and a sink. There were 2 bathrooms (one with toilet and shower, the other with toilet and bath)- that was with four 'rooms' on that level. There were bathrooms in other 'sections or levels'. But it was just a case of get in there when you can, no rota or anything. It wasn't too bad for us to be honest, because we didn't have set times for doing anything (ie getting washed for school) and OH was out before anyone else was up & about.

I'm going to try to dig out our T &C's of staying there and scan them to email you a copy but i can't promise i'll find them.

Hope this helps, happy to answer any other q's xx

Thanks Hol, that will be great. I reckon we are going to be in the room, going to 'sneak in' the laptops as then we can watch DVD's if nothing else. I just have to be prepared for everything that might ome up, it helps me deal with things better, that's all. I'd rather be prepared for the worst if nothing else. Thinking about it, I think that these places are not really 'designed' with asmall children in mind, I reckon more it is for people with little babies or single adults.

Feeling very tired tonight, woke up at around 4.30 this am and could not et back to sleep - very annoying. I'll sign off for now and speak to you all soon. List due out around Thursday Lunchtime. Please let there be something for us :)

Been playing free bingo, why can't I ever win anything like proper money? Anyone got any tips??

Ooh, something strange. On Saturday when coming back from Drayton Manor we was along the motorway in a huge storm and in the distance there was this huge big bright rainbow. As we got nearer it stayed where it was and then in the end we was driving along with the bottom of the rainbow literaly sitting on the bonnet of our car. Twice this happened. It was very odd and I've never seen anything like it before and you could see all the colours rising up into the sky (no Skittles, Leprecorns, or Gold though though!!). I am hoping that it is a sign that something nice is coming soon, either way I still cannot believe that we was sitting at the bottom of the rainbow!!

    How lovely, bm.
Keep that rainbow with you in your memory bank - it's something to remember when the going gets rough, and you are a special person to recognise and absorb a rare moment of beauty.
