Could you not consider telling your parents? or putting it down in a letter..explaining how much you love each other and that you hope that they can support you (not financially!) even if they don't 'agree' with the relationship?
If you really believe this will be a long term relationship, they will find out eventually.. and you are both adults here. Good luck!0 -
Question - why don't they want you to have a girlfriends at the moment? is it this one person or in general0
-
Well, they dont agree with her, they think she has done somthing, and her parents hate me because of my parents...
But some really good news...
My dad has just informed me that he has found an old bank account of mine he set up when i was 5.
He put £2000 or so in there, and has been gaining interest for 10 years.
I might use this to help me...
any suggestions with what to do with it?
Thanks

Erm, pay off some of your debts to get your repayments down to a sustainable level, also reducing your interest on your debt? I've just guestimated you are paying over 8 grand a year to sustain your relationship. That's nearly the same as my mortgage!
Mate, face some reality - your relationship is placing your future well being at jeopardy.
2000 quid put in a bank in 1993 will be worth about £3700 with cumulative interest (assuming a rate of 4.5%). Knock down your debt, don't think what you are going to do with it.0 -
Find out how much is actually in there first, then pay off ebay, paypal, bank and then the rest on your credt card.
Put think will your parents ask about this money at a later date? will they axpect you to use it for anything?
It would be much easier to tell them about your debt if you state the money in the bank account will go towards it.0 -
Wow, thanks for this! Your really non presuring and a nice person!
Well basicly,
I can cut it down to 3 weeks, i want to cut it down more, but because of all the debt problems, it just makes me miss her more and at the moment im close to hurting myself or having depression if she isnt there for me.
As for the mobile, I get her to phone me, because then my dad cant see who im calling, because he doesnt approve of us. This using alot of minuits, and was comming to like £200 before i bought the bigger tariff. Obviously, wen this contract comes to an end i will be going down a few packages, so i could save £50 odd then.
For travel, i need my car for work, and its the nearest parking place, and i cant get public transport for that reason.
OK you need the car for work and it's the nearest parking place but is there nowhere still relatively close for free or even just a bit cheaper - even if it was a pound a day this would make a big difference.
Also if you are spending nearly £160 x 4 on visiting the girlfriend this is way too much. this is more than many single people pay in rent/mortgage and council tax per month all for 8 days.
Get on the bus at least, yes it's a pain but it'll be cheaper and better for the environment. or maybe you could get a young persons rail card and get cheaper rail fares, just start thinking about alternatives rather than just spending. also travellodge often have cheap deals if you book in advance which may save on the hotel bills. I know GF hasn't much money but she doesn't seem to be contributing anything which seems unfair, does she know about your debts?Mortgage OP 2025 £7050/7000Mortgage OP 2024 £7700/7000

also if you do use the money from the bank account STILL do the suggestions that have been posted on here. Don't just think 'oh my debts gone down, I might as well carry one' you will never afford to move out.0

Ok, I have just looked at the savings book.
It had £4,289 in feb 06
with interest thats about £5000 now.
So i shall pay off my credit card right away - and with all this i shall change my lifestyle as still outlined above, but put the £300 in a savings account.0 -
thats great news
so you'll be debt free in no time. 0
