Hi Guys,
First off, please dont judge me. I have made some mistakes and i am fully aware of what i have done. This is why i have come on here to get some help
Basicly...
I have a salary of £1100 a month.
I have a credit card with £5100 on it, and i havnt made a payment on it for 2 months due to leaving my old job.
I now have a job and this is where i need help.
I have a problem, My parents dont fully approve of me having a girlfriend at the moment, so they dont know. But she lives in bristol. I live in surrey. I have a serious problem, i miss her so much, that i just have to see her every week. Now take this into account.
I pay her mobile, because she is in education at the moment and cant pay for one herself.
I pay £100 a month for that, main reason being it worked out cheaper to get the full package.
I pay £50 in petrol for going down to see her
I pay £55 a night for a hotel, as her parents dont fully approve of us either (long story)
So each weekend just to see my g/f i spend £160 ish on food and hotels and petrol.
I am now getting calls from debt collectors at my house! My mum and dad know about the credit card, but i also have 3 online payments that are way over due, one for ebay one for paypal and one for my barcleys (other) bacnk account. all amounts to £170
I get on average 3 calls a day at home, and while they dont fully reveal what they are calling about, i think when they say (we have an urgent business call for XXXX can he call us back urgently on XXXXXXX ) then i think they might find out.
I have asked them to call my mobile number instead, bu they guy said it was down to the operator who calls which number he rings.
So can i get them to stop calling me? and send a letter.
Going back to what i was saying as well.
I earn £1100 a month
My spendings are (rufly)
£160/w on seeing my girlfriend (this cannot improve at the moment so this has to stay)
£100 on mobile phone bill (again cant find a better deal, and i am tied in for another 6 months on this contract)
Car parking at work (£120/m)
food (£5/d)
total - £1015
That leaves me with about £85 a month...
I am strugling to pay off mydebts , and my credit card is still over its £4900 limit, in curring more charges every month.
Please help!
I know it might not all be understood but the most important thing it to get them to stop calling my house!
I need help please guys, Im a young fool, who needs some wisdom and advice urgently!

weel - lets start by asking if it's possible for you to cut down on mobile bill by writing a lot of love letters? Call me old fashioned but I'd love to get these - you say what you like and keep'em.0

I'm sure there will be people along to help in a second
I always thought that the best thing to do was to speak to the people that you owe money too, I found that previously mine would call so many times in one day because i hadnt made contact..... as soon as i called them to let them know my situation they stopped calling me because i kept them up to date with my situation
I'm almost certain that you can send a standard form letter requesting all correspondance in writing
Good luck

Can you get the train to visit your girlfriend? And perhaps stay in a cheaper hotel, or even a hostel? You really need to reduce that cost, that's ridiculous! And why are you paying £100 a month for her phone bill?
You need to face up to your situation and speak to the companies you are in debt with, or this will only spiral.0 -
Do you really HAVE to see her every week? My ex and I only saw each other every other week. It's tough but would save you £320 a month!Current debt - £16,300
Debt at worst 17/03/2011 - £18,067.62:eek::eek::ANot going anywhere else, ever again :A0 -
£5 aday for food? can't you take food into work?
£120 for parking at work? park somewhere else or get public transport.
£100 mobile? How much is the contract a month? Why so much? for 1 or 2 phones? I pay £35, max £40 a month with 02 on contract
Make a list of everything you owe, find out how much you are being charge (if anything) and to your creditors & payplan/CCCS
'i also have 3 online payments that are way over due, one for ebay one for paypal and one for my barcleys (other) bacnk account. all amounts to £170'
Don't see your girlfriend for one week that will allow you to pay £160 off them0 -

Hi There,
Sorry i rushed what i was writing,
Im stuck in a 6month contract with 3 mobile, so i still have to pay the £100 anyways.
And thanks as well to the person above, but can somone provide me with a letter to send?0 -

I know it's hard, but you can't afford to spend £160 a week to visit your girlfriend. You are a year younger than my daughter, her BF lives in Surrey and we are in Wales, so not dissimilar, and when she is back home in the holidays they can only visit when they can afford to.
Look at visiting every other week. Book some Travelodge rooms when they have their £10 deals, as another poster said try the train.
Try and see if you can reduce the mobile package too. You should get a good inclusive text and minutes one for a quarter of that. What about a skype phone if you both have access to the internet.
Can you sort out your problems with both sets of parents? I would rather work out a compromise with my kids rather than have them running up unnecessary debt behind my back.
And yes, speak to your creditors and make an arrangement with them.
Good Luck!0 -
Ebay is that as a seller or buyer? If buyer just don't pay, the seller will then issue an alert and you will communicate with them, tell them you can't pay or only a little at a time. You can also talk to them before an alert. If as a seller then your account will be blocked till you pay it, is there a problem in that happening?
