Morning everyone, hope those of you feeling grotty are a bit better today and hugs to those that need them
. I was stuck at work until 10pm last night but got home to find that OH had cooked dinner (even correctly anticipated the meal plan!), hoovered the flat, packed me lunch for today and done the last load of laundry which was really sweet of him. He used to work for the same guy, so he knows what it's like here.
I was back in work at 8 am this morning to find yet more irrational requests on my desk. I'm at cracking point with this - but only another 8.5 months to go then I can leave! I feel like turning round and telling him if he isn't going to pay me then he can't issue demands like that but none of us can do that because he'll just destroy our references, employment law doesn't apply to us as we are technically "guests" rather than employees and if we don't have a good supervisory report, we don't get the next job. I started writing my thesis over Christmas, which was a relief as I can see an end to it now. I have another careers service appointment tommorrowI have loads to do today - but OH has been instrucuted to call me at 7pm and make me leave
Better get back to it, but I hope you all have a great day:staradmin:starmod: beware of geeks bearing .gifs...:starmod::staradmin:starmod: Whoever said "nothing is impossible" obviously never tried to nail jelly to a tree :starmod:0 -
Morning all
a quick hello from me before i start what i plan to have done today.
i have the usual housework, but also need to clean biro off the walls saving on the cost of paint and rollers for when i move, im doing the dfw live on 4000 challenge plus my child benifit and going to be trying very hard to stick to it, i dont smoke or dribk and rarely go out so im hopeing that by using ideas etc from the board, sticking to grocery targets getting less from more is going to help sorry im rambleing here
sorry after going off topic there today just need to keep myself inspired
breakfast was cereal, lunch hm bread with ham and cheese and dinner is leftover chicken casserole in a pie, snacks will be flapjacks (when made) and fruit the boys can also if they ask have anything from the snacks left over from christmas (but i dont point them out lol its only if they 'see' them and ask)
loaf in breadmaker, going to attempt flapjacks later and then melt someof the silly amount of choc the boys got for christmas to drizzle over the top, i also need to make another cake for them as it went down very well (so well ive not been nagged for sweets or crisps)
ive managed to get up showered and dressed without the heating today, yesterdays dark load of washing is nearly dry if i can keep it going i will be selling the tumble dryer to avoid replapsing back to it and buying a second clothes airer (my biggest hurdle is bedding)
i woke up full of beans today
sorry talking utter poop here i know will hop off now
have a good day

Taplady, queenie started a thread over the weekend (sorry dont know how to do links) and in it was a programme that was free to download to pc, it basical prints your shopping list off, but i spent a few hours imputting what i normally buy and the prices, then just add what i need that week and it prints it off in catagories (bread, meat, ect) and adds it up, so iv just been and done my shop using it, made it so easy knew what i needed from each part of the shop and roughly how much cash i needed to have on me.1
Did spend £5 more than i though buy i bought some half price caserole dish and some new baking trays!!Proud to be DEBT FREE AT LAST0 -
Morning everyone
I hope your hosp appointment goes well catowen
big ((((hugs)))) to those still sick.
Wrap up well to those who are having cold weather
I've been a busy bee this morning because the man from Sky came before 9 to fit the new HD thing (no, not OS but one of OH's things in life <sigh>) and was here for nearly an hour so i stayed in the kitchen with the dogs (one 'needs' to help by nosing in and seeing what is going on, especially if anyone is doing a job on their knees) and WORKED. I washed and dried all dishes, cleaned surfaces, cleaned top of cooker and polsihed table, dresser and computer desk! eeek. this is good but kind of scares me because I see what i could do.
I need to strip single beds and get them done today.
I haven't been sleeping v well so might have a kip later today. I feel a bit cabin fever trapped at the mo but am determined not to go to the supermarket. I might just go out for a coffee at some point so i have been out.
Hope everyone has a good day.

Hi again,
Carpet fitter has been and done a smashing job. Room looks sooooo good, I want it now! Even better, when he unrolled the carpet that was supposed to be 7' wide, it was actually 13' 6" wide!!! So, I now have enough carpet to do DD's bedroom too and all for £63! :j
Done some basic housework so downstairs is looking ok. Will tackle the staircase next and then I will have to wait until DS comes home to help me shift everything back into his room and then I can blitz the other rooms.
Need to head into town though to pay some cheques and Scottish bank notes in. Very few places will accept them here so its easier just to bank them then withdraw English notes from the atms.
ageandjo I know how you feel. I have been really good over Christmas and New Year but I am only about 4 lbs lighter on the scales yet I feel much lighter than that.Going to stick with it too as I'm feeling better for it.
kunekune hope your DS feels better soon, poor wee soul.
Crazychik do your think your OH could pick up a new personality for my XDH? Please? Pretty Please? Pretty Please with Cheese on Top? Shouldn't be saying that really as he was actually a help at the weekend (so unlike him.)
anniestar :hello: and ((hugs))
Shez like the new avi but not sure that anything could ever beat the "fresh from swimming in the lake" look!
Well, I'm off again to try and get some more stuff done. xx"Bad planning on your part does not constitute an emergency on my part."

Hi. I am back, well sort of. Jet lag means I cannot possibly get up early and post first, but I will try and get back into the swing of things.
I had a great holiday. The Airline was carp, but that's another story....
Bought loads of stuff CHEAP and saw loads of old friends. Saw Shamu and stuff too, canoes with manatees and had a whale of a time....
Sorry won't harp on about it. Nothing to look forward to now....:o

Ii watched the programme about the chickens last night, and it made me realise what a hypocrite I am - I insist on free range eggs but will quite happily pay £5 for two intensively farmed chickens. I really would like to buy free range, but atm its just too expensive for usSure we will find a way around it evenually though.
Not sure whats for dinner tonight - possibly chicken marylandWe must all suffer one of two things: the pain of discipline or the pain of regret and disappointment0 -
Just a quick post as I woke up this morning with stomach ache and have had to ring in sick again
I just wish to say: Good Luck Catowen, fingers crossed here for you.
Hugs to Twink & Kyle too, today.
Take care all.
I'm off to bed again, hope to be back later on today feeling brighter.

Morning, not posted for a few days, but have been reading through.
Raining steadily here, got loads of paperwork to do...but no inspiration.
I have re-activated my Yahoo account and applied to re-join my local Freecycle. The main thing I want to shift is a piano.
Whilst browsing the Yahoo groups, I noticed and joined a knitted dishcloth one, yes, I am sad.
They do 2 KAL (knitalong) a month, where you get sent so many rows each day, I suppose it's along the lines of Rolf, "do you know what it is yet"
Lamb and veg for tea, done in the slow cooker.
Hugs to those with poorly kids.
Hugs to those who are poorly themselves.
Love to the rest of you.
