Even if it was a stolen credit card I don't understand how paypal can reverse a transaction that had already been processed with a confirmation email sent, that's just wrong.

It's unfortunate for the person who's credit card was stolen but most people are covered by insurance for that sort of thing anyway.

that's just paypal's way of covering their interests. because if the CC company reverses the transaction, then paypal would lose the money, but paypal then steal it back from their customers who are already paying way too much (sense any bitterness:confused: )

my old man made one ebay sale; a dvd/vcr recorder, it sold for £120 through paypal, he sent it recorded delivery, then paypal took the money, saying that this may be a fruadulent transaction, still have the buyer's details, but paypal won't do anything about it. this was about a year ago.

in my experience, no one will use Nochex, (seem to think i'm trying to rip them off) and Eggpay is rubbish, i have had one payment of £15 which has been missing in the system for about 2 months, and egg can't find it as there are no eggpay specialists?????
if no one at egg knows about eggpay, then that's not a great start.
Where the !!!! has the Shrug gone! just doesn't cut it...:think::huh: and these don't come close

I'v always left feedback as soon as paypal payment made, but after reading your awful experience I won't in future and will also consider requesting cheques.
Hope everything works out for you.

I stress that I do prefer cheques as my method of payment and do in fact have a lot of success. Although I would still say that 70% choose to pay with paypal even though I stress I want cheques to avoid the fees.

On my main selling account i have advertised that i use (as well as paypal) Nochex and fastpay and in 2 years+ no-one has ever asked to pay using those methods. As Ebay own paypal its heavily promoted and other methods are basically not encourged by them.

although under e-bay T&Cs. .you can not or should not charge extra for using paypal.

I have in the past stated in my auctions that I will offer a 3% discount on the final selling price for payments by bank tranfer or check..

    again no takers... ????

Yea sorry for the confusion, I never charge any extra when people pay with paypal, I foot the bill. I just say that in my payment instructions I do prefer cheque but either way for the buyer, they don't pay any more by using paypal.
